GENERAL SALES POLICIES

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Door Controls USA, Inc. published prices, discounts, payment terms, and transportation methods in effect at the time of the shipment shall apply unless otherwise expressly stated. Any deviation from stated terms and conditions must be agreed to in writing prior to purchase.

CORE RETURNS

All remanufactured products are priced with “CORE EXCHANGE DUE”. This means a core is to be returned and shall be the EXACT same product as was purchased with normal wear so that the item can be remanufactured for future sale. The core must be shipped to Door Controls USA as soon as reasonably possible, but no later than 90 days after purchase. A core charge will be made if the core to be returned is not received by Door Controls USA within 90 days of purchase. If the EXACT same product cannot be returned for some reason, please contact our core department to negotiate a substitution of another product or products of equivalent value.

CREDITS

Any and all refunds or credits due will be treated per the following:

• Customer with no outstanding balances will receive a refund check within 60 days.

• Customers with an outstanding balance will have credits applied to the oldest invoices after 90 days.

CLAIMS

All claims must be made within 10 days of the receipt of shipment. This applies to any missing products from the original shipment and/or damaged product. Less than Truckload (LTL) shipments, if damaged must be noted on the Bill of Lading (BOL) as damaged, failure to note could result in denial of the claim.

INVOICES

Upon acceptance of goods from Door Controls USA, the full amount of the invoice is due and payable per the terms listed on the invoice. Unless accompanied by specific remittance instructions, applicant agrees that Door Controls USA is authorized to apply all unspecified payments at Door Controls USA discretion. Invoices not paid within 60 days may cause the account to be placed on credit hold and no additional orders will be shipped until payment is received. Invoices not paid within 30 days are subject to a service charge of 1.5% per month (18% per annum). A portion of the month shall be treated as a full month for the purpose of calculating service charges. Applicant agrees to promptly pay said service charge. Waiver of any service charge for any one month shall not be deemed a waiver of future charges. Applicant further agrees that with regard to such charges, applicant and Door Controls USA are parties to a written contract. Applicant agrees to pay a reasonable fee, not to exceed the maximum allowed by state law, for any checks which are returned for non-sufficient funds or are dishonored for any reason. Should Door Controls USA have to institute collection proceedings to secure payment of amounts due, Door Controls USA shall be entitled to recover reasonable attorney fees, cost, and collection expenses. Applicant agrees that Door Controls USA shall have the right to choose, at its option, the jurisdiction and venue wherein to bring any legal proceeding to enforce any term or condition of the agreement between Applicant and Door Controls USA and waives any and all objections to the jurisdiction and venue so chosen.

RETURNS

Products to be returned must use a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) form and/or packing slip provided by Door Controls USA. Contact a customer service representative to obtain a Sales Return Order (SRO) number to note on the RGA. Failure to properly complete the RGA form may delay processing or even result in lost items. All requests for returns must be made within 90 days of original purchase. A 30% restock charge may be assessed for all unused parts returned to Door Controls USA. A 60% restock fee may be assessed for all special order items. All returns must be shipped prepaid, credit will be given toward future purchase only and no cash refunds will be given.

GENERAL SALES POLICIES

REPAIR AND RETURN

For your convenience, products can be sent to DCUSA for repair and return at a reduced price. Most products can be repaired the same day received and returned according to your shipping instructions. In most cases we will replace your unit with the same item from our warehouse to expedite processing while allowing you the advantage of reduced pricing. If you prefer to have the exact unit sent to us repaired and returned, please indicate on the RGA form or packing slip.

SALES TAX

All customers must furnish Door Controls USA a Resale Tax Certificate or an Exempt Tax Certificate in order to avoid being charged any applicable taxes.

WARRANTY

Door Controls USA warranty for new and remanufactured parts will be one year from the date of purchase and or invoice date. This warranty provides for the replacement or refund only. Warranty is made to the original customer and is not transferrable. Product sent back as such shall have all original parts/pieces as it was originally sold as, failure in this will result in additional charges and/or potentially void the warranty. Products sent back must be packed in original packing or equal to ensure the product arrive as originally shipped, damaged product received may result in no credit being issued. Products sent back and tested with No Problem Found (NPF) are subject to a 30% restock fee. All warranty products will be shipped back to the customer via UPS Ground at no charge. Freight for return of parts out of warranty will be at the customer's expense. Contact a Door Controls USA customer service representative with the serial number of the defective unit to determine if it is under warranty and obtain a Sales Return Order (SRO) number, a copy of the SRO will be emailed that can be printed out and used as a packing slip to reduce paperwork for you. You can also visit our website to lookup warranty information and start the return process. The 6000 Series door closer is built on a 9 1/16" hole pattern, manufactured from high-grade aluminum, packaged with an all-weather fluid (-20 °). Our geared hinge is only offered in a heavy-duty version because added security and durability should never cost you more.

HANDICAP CODE

An optional hydraulic feature that prevents the door from opening to fast and damaging the closer or anything else in its path. Back-check usually takes place about 15 degrees before the maximum degree of opening is reached.

Plastic or cast iron case that is set into the finished floor. The closer is then fastened to the case, allowing the closer to be removed easily from the floor.

Center hung closers locate the pivot in the center of the door opening and require a frame applied stop at 0 degrees in a single acting application.

Special cold weather closer fluid used in extreme cold to prevent the closer from freezing.

A term used to describe the strength of a door closer. Generally, the greater the door width, the larger the closer size should be.

The cycle of closing from initial degree to about 10 degrees from closing position. This cycle is controlled by a valve to speed up or slow down the closing of the door.

A positive stop built in the closer prevents the door from going beyond the desired degree of opening.

Maximum opening that a door is allowed to open. Floor closers openings range from 85 - 105 degrees in 5-degree increments.

Delays closing at any point from fully opening, down to 70 degrees to allow for wheelchairs or carts. Note: In order for the delay feature to engage, the door must reach its maximum degree of opening.

Stand with your back to the hinge end of the door. Hand of door will be determined by which of your hands the door swings to.

Double acting doors swing in both directions. Double acting closers are self-centering and center hung.

Necessary when narrow top rails or narrow frame face prevent standard closer mounting.

Certain floor conditions may require the spindle of the closer to be longer than standard. Spindles may be increased in size by 1/2" increments up to 2" max.

Closer that is made of approved fire-rated materials.

A door closer that is mounted in the floor. A floor closer not only closes the door but also hangs it. Standard floor closers come complete with a top pivot. Side jamb pivots need to be ordered separately.

OFFSET HUNG

Heavy duty floor closers are designed for use on heavy doors or doors subject to heavy use/abuse.

An optional mechanical feature that is incorporated into the door closer arm assembly. Hold open arms cannot be used on “UL” or fire rated door assemblies.

L series closers have an arm and top pivot with a special screw pattern to span the lead lining on a door with lead mounted in the middle. If lead is mounted elsewhere in a door, consult with us before ordering. Lead lined closers can handle extremely heavy door loads.

Door closers with adjustable spring power, to permit the adjustment of closing power to meet the needs of most doors. They are available with normal power range adjustments or with barrier code and power range adjustments (Sizes 1 - 4 and 3 - 6).

Door closers which are non-handed permit installation on doors of either hand without modification to the door closer.

Offset closers locate the pivot point from the heel edge of the door and from the face of the door. 1 1/2" offset closers locate the pivot point from the heel edge of the door and 1 1/2" from the face of the door.
