About Bean...by Kayla, Christopher (Bean’s) mom: This is our sweet boy’s story! July 31st 2022 Bean was diagnosed with T-Cell Leukemia. He was 6 years old at that time…I also had a 6 week old and 1 year old at home followed by 3 bonus girls…to say our entire world was flipped upside down is an understatement! The roller coaster was just beginning, we had so many ups and downs, lots of set backs, lots of changing meds and reactions to medications and chemo. December 20th-24th Bean was admitted into the hospital and we didn’t think we would make it home for Christmas. Volunteers came around to each child’s room with a sack full of Christmas presents and it was truly the most heartfelt thing I have ever experienced. Around the month of October in 2023 Bean caught CMV also known as mono, our other kids brought it home from school and even with all the precautions we took unfortunately when you have someone immunocompromised in your home it’s almost a guarantee they are going to get whatever is going around. Even through that he made it to maintenance (a step before remission) he was able to go back to school in person for his 2nd grade year, enjoy being a kid and have a little normalcy. The end of May 2024 (2 days before school got out) we found out his cancer was back. I picked him up from school early and one side of his face was drooping, immediately I called his doctor and we were in the ER. From May 28th to September 11th Bean was in the hospital….107 days he spent in the hospital in ONE TINY ROOM! He was on so many restrictions, it was only a few days before he got to go home he was finally able to go outside! During the stay we learned he was not responding to the medication he was on for his cmv and the only medication he could have that would almost guarantee to get rid of it his body would NOT respond to…we knew then this round was not going to be easy. Ultimately, Bean passed away November 13th in the comfort of our home! His body couldn’t handle all the sickness, the cmv spread to his eye, then to his brain, the cancer was spreading everywhere even with chemo and radiation. We spent the entire week before he passed at Disney thanks to make a wish. We got to make his dream of meeting Mickey Mouse and many other characters come true before he left this world! At the Age of 8 and just before his 9th birthday we lost our baby. Doing this ride not only honors Bean’s life but we are going to be able to provide Christmas for I hope many families this year in the same place we found our selves in 3 years ago. Chapel Hill relies on people like us to make donations for these kids. If you knew Bean you know how much of a giver he was! I made a promise to him that I would give back as much and as often as I could to these kids and I intend on keeping that promise as long as I’m alive! I want to thank each and every one of you guys for helping, sharing the word, donating whatever you are doing to help us!! From the bottom of my heart I can not tell you how much it means to us, as well as, the families we get to help.

And last but certainly not least, our hats are off to the wonderful folks that kept us safe during the ride—the Spring Hope Police Department, the Spring Hope Volunteer Fire Department, and the Blue Shepards MC, and with the addition of Dustin’s little brother Austin Pope to ensure we had coverage at stoplights, intersections, stop signs, and turns. Thank y’all for risking it all and bringing the message of Jace (huge thanks from Jace’s family too for the outpouring of love and generosity from everyone on this day) and blessing our ride and food!! Thanks to everyone we were able to raise $6,010 for Chapel Hill Christmas for the kids AND $2,210 for Jace and his family! We will be doing this again next year so if you’ve read this far and saw something Saturday that you think we can do better on please send us a message on fb or get in touch with Dustin Baines. This was our first time putting this all together in Bean’s honor to raise funds for the Chapel Hill Children’s Hospital to ensure these kids receive Christmas presents this year. When Bean was there we saw firsthand that many kids didn’t get much and some had very little contact with any family. So, Bean had asked back then if we could try to help these kids for Christmas…and we didn’t let Bean down on one of his last requests…thanks to ALL of YOU!!!! We definitely want this to get bigger and bigger every year and are already making plans for the 2nd Annual event for 2026. Thank y’all again and we hope to see you next year!

Remembering Roger Smith

GARNER, NC What an awesome turnout for the Officer Roger Smith Memorial Ride! The NCSHP and local law enforcement conducted a flawless escort of forty cars/jeeps and forty-four motorcycles, Blue Knights NC XII and NC II led the motorcycles on the ride and we even got to ride past WakeMed Garner. The ride, led by city, county and state law enforcement went from the Garner Performing Arts Center, past WakeMed Garner and ended at Logan’s Roadhouse in Garner. There all were joined by Rogers family for an emotional but rewarding lunch. Special thanks to Nathan Sheppard and all at Operation Fly Our Flag for arranging it and thanks to Logan’s Roadhouse who fed the Smith family at no cost! The family were reported as saying they were completely overwhelmed with all the love and support. RIP Roger, you’ll never be forgotten.

Police Officer Roger Smith was shot and killed at the Emergency Department of the WakeMed Garner Healthplex at approximately 9 a.m. on Saturday November 8. Officer Smith was working in the hospital emergency department when a struggle ensued, and Officer Smith was shot. Immediate life-saving efforts were performed by medical staff before Officer Smith was transported to WakeMed Raleigh; however, he succumbed to his wounds later that morning. The shooter was shot and wounded before being apprehended. He was charged with murder. Officer Smith had served with the WakeMed Campus Police & Public Safety Department for 14 years and previously served with the Knightdale Police Department for 16 years. He also volunteered as a firefighter. He was survived by his two daughters, mother, brother, granddaughter, and long-time partner.

Do You Trust Him? Relax And En Riding with my husband has been an unexpected adventure. I have learned all sorts of things that I never knew about motorcycles and motorcycle riding. There is a lot about it that I never considered because I had no knowledge and no experience from which to draw. One of the aspects of riding that took me some time to accept are the quick movements that are sometimes necessary to ride safely. When I first began riding with my husband, those quick, jerking motions made me grab onto him in a white-knuckled grip and imagine all sorts of problems that didn’t exist. Experience has taught me that those quick movements are rapid course corrections. From behind my husband, I can’t see the road ahead of us. I can only see him. He can see obstructions, dangerous debris (grass clippings or gravel) or road conditions (potholes or uneven pavement) that could cause us harm. His quick reflexes are detouring us around potential hazards, things that are avoidable, even if sometimes it means a rapid course correction. His motions don’t change our destination, but merely choose a safer path to reach it. There are moments in life where we experience “rapid course corrections”, too. Maybe it’s a job loss or a sudden health issue. Perhaps it’s a traffic jam or an unexpected family event. I have a friend who missed a bus on her way to a job interview because she lacked $1.50 on her Metro card. These course corrections can catch us off guard. They can even upset us — more than a little. They can seem like mistakes from our point of view.

But that’s just it: Our point of view is too narrow. My friend who missed the job interview for lack of bus fare? That interview was in the twin towers on 9/11. We can’t always see the danger ahead, but God can. What you sometimes see as a delay or a disappointment is just God looking out for you, steering you around a danger you can’t see. You can either do like I did at first and whiteknuckle your way through the rapid course corrections in a panic, or you can do what I am learning to do now: Hold on. Trust the One in charge. Relax and enjoy the ride. Will it be bumpy? Perhaps. But you know Who’s driving, and you know He has an unobstructed view of what’s ahead. You can trust Him to take you through the safest way possible. DO you trust Him? Or have you been trusting in your own strength? Your money? Your job? Your relationship? There is only one place where your trust will never fail, and you won’t find it in anything on this earth. Jesus is the only place. All the others won’t hold up. He will. Do you trust him? If you do, I suppose you can move on to the next article in this great magazine. If you don’t trust Jesus, may I ask you to consider why not? Why wouldn’t you trust the one Person who loved you enough to die for you? Even though He knows all the places you’ve walked that you shouldn’t have, all the things you’ve said that you shouldn’t have and all the things you’ve done (and perhaps are doing now) that you shouldn’t have — even knowing all that and also knowing that maybe you’d toss His blood-bought gift right back in His face, He still died for you — just to give you that choice.

Time to make that choice is running out. I’m not saying that to be ominous. I’m saying that the choice of what’s on the other side of death’s door has to be made before we turn the handle. It’s too late after that door is open. Don’t put it off. Don’t be fooled into thinking that this life is all there is and nothing comes after it. This l ife is just a drop in the ocean of eternity. The choice of where you spend that eternity rests solely in your hands. Choose wisely and choose now, while you still have time. So you should look for the Lord before it is too late… Isaiah 55:6 ERV …I heard your call in the nick of time; The day you needed me, I was there to help. Well, now is the right time to listen, the day to be helped. Don’t put it off… 2 Corinthians 6:1-3 MSG Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 NLT “…what must I do to be saved?” And they answered, “Believe in the Lord Jesus [as your personal Savior and entrust yourself to Him] and you will be saved…” Acts 16:30-31 AMP

We had 30 bikers that rode in on their bikes some as far as an hour and a half away, folks that is a huge compliment to us that people want to be a part of our cause and care enough to come. It was a very cold day but besides that we had a very good turn out.

We raised $4400.00 for the Middlesex Childern’s Home in Middlesex NC and delivered a trailer full of new toys to the Faith Christian Ministries in Nashville, NC on Tuesday 12/9/2025. The money came from our door prize drawing and there were awesome door prizes donated from local business I believe everyone that was lucky enough to win the prize they got were very happy with the prize they won. Other money came from the prizes that were auctioned, the bar tender donated the tips she received and there were two very special donations that tickets were sold for that did very well. I think that the rest of this article should be donated to the volunteers and business that donated to this event:

MT. OLIVE, NC Some of the BB Crew took a trip down to Mt. Olive recently. We love going to The Pickle Parlor and seeing what new products and merchandise they have available. They never disapoint! If you love pickles then this is the place for you! We call it the “Pickle Capital of The World...the place for everything “Pickle” !!! Our favorite products...that we have fallen in love with recently (other than their pickles, which are our all-time favorite) are the Italian Seasoned Pickled Mushrooms and the Deli Style Bread & Butter Jalapeño Slices!!! From Modest Roots to the Top Pickle Company

Making the Best Pickles: A Community Proposition

Mt. Olive Pickle Company, Inc., located at the Corner of Cucumber & Vine in Mount Olive, North Carolina, was originally founded for the purpose of brining cucumbers to be sold to other pickling firms.

It all started in the mid-1920s with Shikrey Baddour, a Lebanese immigrant from nearby Goldsboro, who saw opportunity in the wasted cucumber crops of area farmers. Baddour came up with the idea of buying the cucumbers, putting them in a brining tank and selling the salt brined cucumbers, or brine stock, to other pickle firms. Baddour enlisted the aid of George Moore, a sailor from Wilmington who had worked in a Castle Hayne pickle plant. The plan didn’t work the way they had envisioned, however: they had no buyers for their product.

When this initial plan didn’t exactly work out, the young company found itself in sort of a, well, you know, pickle. Fortunately, resourcefulness prevailed, a new plan was prepared, and the company quickly began processing and packing pickles itself, formulating their own recipes and methods of production. From a modest beginning in 1926, with only a 3,600 square foot building and $19,500 in capital, Mt. Olive has quickly grown to be one of the most loved pickle companies, manufacturing a best-selling brand of pickles, peppers and relishes in the U.S for their millions of customers.

By January 1926, a new plan was put into place through the efforts of a group of local business people who formally established the Mt. Olive Pickle Company, Inc. to pack and sell its own pickles. Thirty-seven original shareholders put forward the capital to get the company started in what all viewed as a “community proposition.” The first board of directors was led by H.M. NC Chapter 2 Wake county Blue Knights NCII: A Night That Showed Who We Really Are A Ride with Purpose: On December 6th, the Blue Knights NC II family came together at the Raleigh Police Club in Knightdale for our Christmas Party — and like always, it reminded everyone exactly why this chapter is so special. Good Food, Good People Mike Hunter took care of the cooking and delivered another solid meal that had everyone satisfied. Nothing fancy, nothing over the top just good food made with heart. Exactly the way we like it. Officers Ready to Lead We took time to swear in our officers for the upcoming year: President: Vince Doxbeck Vice President: Mike Lewis Secretary: Greg Toback Treasurer: Mike Jarmon Directors: Mike Hunter, Doug Greene, and Carl Truffi Quartermaster: Greg Yepez Sgt. at Arms: Brian Demott. It’s a strong lineup heading into 2026. Recognizing Hard Work The President’s Award went to three guys who earned it the right way: Andy LaRiviere, Lee Chamblee, and Jorge Diaz. These are the members who show up, step up, and help keep the chapter moving forward. I was honored to be able to receive the Lady of the Blue Knights back patch. This patch is something usually reserved for member spouses. But the club felt that I earned it through “dedication and hard work” that I put into writing these articles and volunteering to help out at their events. Years of Dedication we honored several members hitting major milestones: 5 Years: Lee Chamblee 15 Years: Alex Holman, Greg Yepez 20 Years: Mike Hunter Commitment like that says everything about who these men are. A Powerful Reminder A member’s fiancée shared some heartfelt words about losing her mother to cancer and how much the chapter’s support meant to her. It was a moment that hit home for everyone and reminded us that Blue Knights isn’t just a motorcycle club — it’s a family. We show up for our people in the good times and the hard ones. 50/50 Raffle The raffle brought in $360 total, with $180 going to the club to help support future events and rides. Dirty Santa Done the NC II Way Dirty Santa once again delivered exactly what we expect — laughs, playful chaos, and some shameless gift-stealing. Nobody does it quite like NC II.

Honoring a Fallen Brother just days before the party, our chapter participated in the escort for the funeral of WakeMed Officer Roger Smith. It was a solemn and meaningful tribute to a man who served his community with honor. Being part of his final escort was something we were proud to do. Closing Out the Year Strong The 2025 Christmas Party was more than a celebration — it was a reminder of who we are: a group built on loyalty, service, brotherhood, and dedication to each other. NC II heads into 2026 stronger, united, and ready for the road ahead.

Veterans Celebration MYRTLE BEACH, SC Myrtle Beach Harley-Davdison 15 Nov 2025 Man…what a day! Our Veterans Day Celebration brought one of the biggest, most heart filled crowds of patriots and veterans we’ve seen in a long time. Veterans rolled in, families showed up strong, and the whole dealership felt like one big community saying thank you together. We had the grills going with FREE food from Snak Shak (which was deliciousby the way, thank you), live music that kept everyone hanging around, and event shirts that were gone almost as soon as they hit the table. The entire day was just perfect. But the ceremony, that’s what locked the day into our hearts. The Quilts of Valor presentation, the cake cutting for every branch of the military, and the moment everyone went quiet… you could feel the respect in the air. No fancy words needed. Just pure gratitude for the men and women who’ve served this country. To every veteran who came out today, thank you! To the ones who couldn’t make it, we ride for you, too. And to everyone who showed up to support these heroes, you helped make today something special. You guys are truly awesome! We’re proud of this community. We’re proud of our veterans. And we’re proud to stand together here at Myrtle Beach Harley-Davidson. Thank you for your service, and God Bless the USA!

1983 – 5¢ Transportation Series: 1913 Motorcycle Part of the extensive Transportation Series, this stamp honored early motorcycle design and was printed in gray-green ink.

At Behind Barz, we celebrate all things two-wheeled, and today we’re diving into the fascinating history of motorcycles as featured on U.S. stamps. The First Appearance: 1922 Special Delivery Stamp The first motorcycle to grace a U.S. postage stamp appeared on July 12, 1922, with the release of a 10-cent Special Delivery stamp. This blue stamp depicted a postal carrier on a motorcycle, symbolizing speed and modernity in mail delivery. It marked a milestone for both the U.S. Post Office Department and motorcycle culture, recognizing the role of bikes in efficient communication. Notable Subsequent Issues Motorcycles have popped up sporadically on U.S. stamps since that 1922 debut. Here are some standout releases:

This was the 5th Annual official Shovel Fest on the east Coast and it was at Old School Bike Shop located in Louisburg, N.C.!!! Lots of folks came out to get their Shovel Head fix! It was a gorgeous day, perfect weather (sunny skies with 70s for temps) for an event with many folks stopping by throughout the day. There were lots of vendors, great food and an awesome band! Thanks to “Hard Livin’” for rocking the stage! Coolers were welcome and some even brought their own chairs to relax throughout the day in. Livin' The Life I had the pleasure of having a week of vacation over the first week of October. I decided to take a 7 day Motorcycle trip on my 2025 Harley Pan America. This trip I ended up traveling 2,275 miles. Day 1 started with a mid afternoon departure from the hose in Clayton. I stopped by the Wife’s work to bid farewell. I stuck to mostly 2 lane highways to avoid the craziness of I95 in NC. Over on I20 and ended the day in Augusta, GA. Day 2 started off with the first Buc-ee’s stop. Then cruised down lots of rural roads with stops in Plains, GA Home of Jimmy Carter, Dothan, AL. And overnighting Pensacola, FL. Day 3 had stops at two different Buc-ee’s while blasting down I10, touched Louisiana and made my way to Natchez, MS. Then started up the Natchez Trace Parkway and ended my day in Jackson, MS. Day 4 was mostly the parkway. When I crossed into Alabama I traveled across to Huntsville where I spent the night. Day 5. The following day I slept in and visited the US space and rocket center. That afternoon I scooted over to the Lookout mountain parkway and picked it up in Fort Payne, AL. Traveling north I crossed into Tennessee and through Chattanooga on my way to another Buc-ee’s in Crossville. Thanks to not being a long travel day, I was able to sit down at the dinner table just in time at my parents house not too far from Crossville. I took all day 6 off and enjoyed my time with the family. Day 7 was go home day. Left the parent’s house when the sun came up and crossed the Blue Ridge Mountains via the Cherohala Skyway. The leaves were just beginning to change higher up on the ridge. Absolutely stunning views! At some points quite literally in the clouds. When I got to I40 outside Asheville it was all systems go. Only stopping for gas and in Greensboro for a quick meal with a buddy. Overall it was a great way to spend the week. Great views and meeting folks along the way. I’ve learned a lot about death and life, love and hate and a million other things from broken relationships to the loyalty of dogs and people while traveling across America. But of all the lessons I’ve learned none has been more profoundly life changing than the necessity of knowing and trusting the love and faithfulness of God to keep me safe and to provide for me.” Bob Seymour From his writings in the Nov-Dec issue 2023. Bob and his motorcycle, “Bullwinkle”, traveled to all 48 contiguous states here in this great country of ours, ministering to people from all walks of life. He did so selflessly and wholeheartedly! Even after losing his wife to that dreaded “C” word, cancer, and giving up everything he owned, he still sought lost people to bring to the Lord. He didn’t do it in the conventional way by going to church. He went to bike rallies, bars, gas stations, etc. Wherever his bike took him and God led him. If you followed him along on his journey here for the past few years then you already know that. Bob sought after lost souls and he found many and they became his friends. His Facebook page is a testimony to that.

Bob starting writing for Behind Barz in the MayJune 2020 issue. I have included many photos here that Bob sent to me over the past 5 years. There obviously isn’t enough room for all of them. I never was able to work it out to meet Bob in person. That will always be one of my regrets. But I know I will meet him on the other side. I know that I can honestly say that I believe Bob Seymour brought more people to Jesus than most church pastors ever did. I believe that without a doubt! After a very brief but dibilitating fight with bone cancer, God called Robert “Bob Seymour home early in the morning of 25 Nov 2025. He is no longer in pain and he is with his beloved wife, Janet aka “Toots”. God Speed to you, Bob! ~ Doobie “Bob lived his life loving people and showing them how much Jesus loved them. It is now time for all of us to pick up his torch and do the same” Bob’s dear friend, Logan Derrington.

Great Things Accomplished Because of Great Bikers

The Annual Ina Fitts Toy Run to benefit the Johnston County Salvation Army in Smithfield, NC...A very special ride honoring Ina Fitts, the beloved late wife of our brother “Pappa John”, who faithfully led this event for so many years. This year marks the “30th Anniversary” of this heartfelt tradition.

Today our Red Knights NC Chapter 13 helped the Ebenezer Christian Home. We took presents to kids in need and also had some help from Red Knights Concord NC 14 , Red Knights NC21, Red Knights NCXX, multiple chapters of the Guardians, Christian Biker Association, Hardchargers, Twisted Covenant and Members of Mt. View Baptist Church. Over all the over all mission was to bless the kids with gifts and show them they are loved. There was not a dry eye after the presentation. We told everyone the be ready for a blessing and to be honest we had church with them. The main message was Jesus loves you. Afterwards we had lunch and then fellowship and even played outdoor activities with the kids. We had 57 bikes and 13 vehicles and the people filled the church. What wonderful day and we would like to thank everyone that attended and we will be back again next year. Afterwards our chapter went for a ride in the area on our way home.

Hello my happy wick twisters!! I am concerned about a bit, though. I have started to notice something. Kinda breaks my heart in a way. Where’s the motor clubs? What’s happening to the MC world? I’ve noticed clubs shutting down like old store fronts in a long gone town. This one’s gone, that one gone. What’s happening? The economy?

Bikes are so expensive and lord the gear you need. Unless you I hope everyone is good. I was are keeping it painfully bare bone walking around in my shop, style. An old shop jacket and just collecting tools for a new some work style leather gloves. job. I say new but it’s old. When it was cold you are I worked there before. Can’t freezing cold. Like questioning say the company, all that legal decisions cold, lol! shit. I’ll just stay safe for now. I was grabbing tools and start- Yeah, I like to be comfortable. I’m ed noticing all the motorcycle not 29 years old. I’m in my drop life stuff I’ve collected through- dead years for no reason. out my life. Jesse James, I like being comfortable. Give me Harley-Davidson, and other the light leather sheep skin biker motorcycle memorabilia. I can jacket. just look at it and remember that very moment. I think about all this stuff I’ve collected. Somethings are still in the house, but eventually it will find a new home in the shop. Just out with the old and in with the new. It’s just how it is. Some things make it to the favorite file and I’ll hold on to it forever. Great memories man!

Give me that stylish but yet comfortable bike seat. That shit costs money. Then dues cost money. Partying costs money. The younger guys and gals can barely afford to live on their own. How in the blueberry biscuits are they going to afford a motorcycle? I’ve seen the parties have been backed off. Low attendance. People just don’t have the funds. Especially when you are new in your career. They are not making top dollar. Its hard. Is it the interest? Has it faded? Has call of duty and Minecraft messed up the younger generation? Have you lost your interest in the real world? Does making a new Chevy truck look like it’s taking a huge shit everywhere it goes, does that interested you more than the freedom of twisting a wick and scat

a back road? So is the interest in motorcycles? Or... Is it a club? Not knowing anyone to feel like you can get in? Are you shy? Balls up then...step up and introduce theyself. It’s not hard. We thrive to keep the brotherhood alive. Clubs really do keep the brotherhood alive. There’s some clubs a bit more raw, but there’s also clubs where it’s really chill and fun to have something in common. It’s really your taste in what you are about. If you are a lean mean machine and want that same vibe. Brother it’s out there! Is it the age? Some guys have grown old. They’ve gotten married. They’ve gotten settled. They just look at 9 o’clock pm as a curse to be out. That’s boots off, coffee in one hand and probably a phone in the other in the most comfortable spot in the house. Done...

I’m just worried that the next generation isn’t even going to care about continuing the Motorcycle Life, or the MC Life.

Clubs have got to have a younger crowd to keep the fresh blood in. But it seems there’s no want to EARN it. Just give it to me or I don’t really care attitude. There needs to be some work ethic Brothers and sisters! Respect is earned! I was just looking in the shop and I was like, this toy bike is nearly 30 years... Bruh.. Thing is, I see a memory of scootin’ down through Deep Run just doing my thing and meeting other bikers along the way. It sure beats playing Fortnite. Plus, it helps you b uild a mechanical mindset. You will youtube motorcycle shit to death. First you are riding, next you have changed clutches and brake pads.

I do see motorcycles on the road, but I also want to see clubs. Maybe thats weird to the cage dwellers, that I want to see more MC clubs, but it’s the truth! There’s a certain amount of respect and love for it, when I see a club rolling deep. It’s like, HELL YEAH!!! Ride! Teach these guys. Take them off those brain numbing video games! Teach them to ride. Show them your own interest. Share the bond, the love for this lifestyle. It’s worth keeping. The MC world is a life worth keeping and living!!! Y’all stay safe and Happy New year!!!

the good news! Rodger Duvall ~ Jesus Freak “Every Option or Standard?” Think on this, every option, there is a limit on what one can do with a bike. There is only so much one can do with adding options.

People have and hold a lot of standards, yep we customize based on how we feel, even lowering our standards.

Option; is defined as something that is or maybe chosen. What ever option one can choose is a choice of keeping it the way it is or choose another choice, and that choice is to now customize it to your choice of customization.

A Creator (God) set a standard (Jesus) that has all the options, choices perfectly made for any situation, no matter what it may be. The customization was already built into His standard, and the first custom part is Mercy, the compassion of forgiveness shown towards someone who it is in Ones power to punish.

Throttle up now and catch up stay with me as we navigate this ride. Years ago an option on a cage was air conditioning, now its standard. OK lets ride, options are just that, choose to take it or leave it. Standards...stand alone, at least for a little while, until someone decides to design a custom part to replace the standard to their own liking. Maybe more chrome or a performance part added to enhance operation with perfect fit and finish. Bike shows have established a standard in customization, the ones that are perfectly done win. They are judged by a standard, and those standards have been established by the creators. Really two classes, custom and restored. I love seeing an old bike restored and a custom bike tastefully done. This is the mantra of every rider, “What is the first thing I’m going to add in customizing my bike to make her or him my own” For me higher bars, yep you start to make it your own.

The second custom part is Grace, unearned unmerited simply divine favor. The next custom part, Love, an uncondition al, sacrificial, eternal, and steadfast commit ment. I’d like to add one more that’s not mentioned a lot, “ HOPE”, A Confident, joyful expec tation of a future good, grounded in God’s promise of eternal life. This is the standard of every built in customization. When God sees us His first thought to customize us is Higher bars, the standard of JESUS put in us when we receive this free gift of customization, only thing is He places Jesus inside us and the only way for others to see it is for us to show Him off by letting Him live out from us. Let this be the year He customizes you with being His Harley in Heaven. Redeemed

4 baked sweat taters mashed 2 eggs 1 tsp vanilla 1 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp nutmeg 1/2 tsp all spice 1 1/2 cups sugar 2 1/4 cup flour 1 stick butter (unsalted) 1/2 cup milk Mix up until smooth batter. Place in 9x13 buttered pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 1-1/12 hours. Glaze: powdered sugar, vanilla...mix until smooth and drizzle on top. George...COWBOY CORN MUFFINS

2 boxes of Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix 1/2 cup Cowboy Candy (candied jalopenos) Mix corn muffin mix and Cowboy Candy and bake to a golden brown. (prepare like it says on box).

Gregg...STUFFED MUSHROOMS 1 pack of whole mushrooms (I use two) 1 package of cream cheese pinch of garlic powder, salt and pepper 1 small chopped onion Take the stems, chop them up and add butter with chopped onions and brown. Cook or brown the sausage. Add cream cheese mixture to browned sausage. Stuff the mushrooms and bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Add parsley for garnish. Gregg...JALOPENO POPPERS 10-12 jalapeños sliced and de-seeded 2 packages softened cream cheese garlic powder, salt and pepper cheddar cheese bacon cut into thirds Slice and de-seed jalapeños and rinse. Mix cream cheese, spices and cheddar cheese. Stuff jalapeños with mixture wrap a slice of bacon around jalapeños and secure with toothpicks. Bake at 400* for 25-30 minutes.
