A friend of Otto von Bismarck and Richard Wagner, Louis was a willing instrument for both men’s soaring ambitions. A talented and imaginative artist, Louis built some of the most famous castles in Europe, including the iconic Neuschwanstein. And as a romantic dreamer, in love with beauty, yet ever more isolated and lonely, Louis was easy to inspire, easy to manipulate, and, ultimately, easy to murder.

What Does a Conductor Do Anyway? Alasdair Neale, M.A.

Tuesday, August 31 | 10:00 a.m. - 11:40 a.m. | $25.00 Via Zoom | Not Recorded Maestro Alasdair Neale is the Music Director of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra and the Sun Valley Music Festival. In this presentation, he will talk about what goes into becoming a conductor, what is involved in studying and understanding a score, how to communicate to the orchestra what is in the score through technique, and various other duties as a conductor.
