Dr Mark Merry was appointed principal of Yarra Valley Grammar in 2009. Prior to that he was Principal of Marcellin College and Deputy Principal at St Patrick’s College, Launceston. He has a doctorate in educational psychology. Kalinda Road, Ringwood VIC 3134

Established in the heart of Melbourne’s east in 1966 and set on a spacious 29-hectare campus, Yarra Valley Grammar overlooks the Yarra Valley and picturesque Dandenong Ranges. Yarra Valley Grammar’s broad curriculum is responsive to individual student needs, with extra opportunities for enrichment and support. Students study a common curriculum until the mid-secondary years and then a range of diverse electives for senior years is offered.

RESILIENCE

A student wellbeing program in conjunction with The Resilience Project has been implemented across the School. This program focuses on empathy, mindfulness, gratitude and emotional literacy to encourage healthy mental wellbeing.

TECHNOLOGIES

We offer a range of subjects within Digital Technologies that explore television, film, sound, photography, games, programming and digital technologies. VCE subjects include Applied Computing, Data Analytics, Software Development and Media.

LANGUAGES

Yarra Valley Grammar introduces the French language to students in junior school. Students are then given the choice of Indonesian, French or Chinese in secondary school. Chinese as a First Language is also offered at VCE level.

MUSIC

Students begin their musical journey in ELC, throughout junior school and are encouraged to continue in secondary years. Our music programs build students’ confidence by involving them in vocal and instrumental performances.
