HELLO SEPTEMBER!

Family members: Sarah & Dave, Avery (11) and Gavin (9) and Millie our dog.

How long have you lived in the neighborhood? We moved to Park Ridge in 2021.

How long have you been with your spouse and how did you meet? We met in college and we’ve been together since 2004.

What are your professions? Dave works at Constellation Brands as a Senior Director and Sarah works at Dish Network as a Senior Account Executive within their ad-sales team.

Tell us about your kids. We have two children, Avery is in 6th grade and Gavin is in 3rd grade.

What do you like to do together as a family? We love being outside; taking Millie on a run, swimming at the pool, or cheering the kids on at their games and competitions. The kids love to play golf all together - probably just to drive the cart but they have a blast. It’s the little things that keep us connected and make the memories stick.

Are you passionate about any charities? Our family is deeply involved in supporting Breakthrough T1D, formerly known as JDRF, ever since our daughter Avery was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. What started as a tough diagnosis has turned into a powerful source of purpose for our whole family. We created “Avery’s Army,” our team for the annual Chicagoland Walk to Cure T1D, and it’s grown into this amazing community of friends, family, and neighbors all rallying behind the cause. Every year, we raise funds to support research for better treatments and ultimately a cure and we’ve seen firsthand how much progress is being made. For anyone looking to get involved, joining our walk team, donating to Breakthrough T1D, or even just helping us spread awareness makes a real difference. It’s something that means the world to us. Please join us this month on September 28th for this year’s walk. For more information, go to: www2.breakthrought1d.org.

Are you involved in the community at all? Dave coaches soccer and flag football and Sarah is on the board of the Roosevelt Elementary PTO and involved with Park Ridge Competitive Cheer. Sarah also helps out with school events and fundraisers; especially around Type 1 Diabetes awareness and she’s also co-chairing an event in this month benefiting Will’s Place’s (a nonprofit café in Skokie, Illinois, dedicated to creating meaningful employment and vocational training opportunities for adults with disabilities). We really value being part of a connected, supportive community, and it’s important to us that our kids grow up seeing the impact of showing up and giving back.

Describe your perfect day in Park Ridge as a family. A walk to the Farmers Market to grab coffee and fresh produce. From there, we’re usually on the sidelines of a game or two; cheering on one of the kids. We love the car show that happens in Uptown! We love ending the day on a patio or around the fire pit, soaking in that easy, small-town summer magic.

Radiance Begins Here

Favorite Park Ridge Restaurant? It’s hard to choose! Fire and Wine, Paninos, and the Pancake House are our favorites. I’m pretty sure given the chance Avery would eat Jersey Mikes every day.

Favorite Park Ridge Park? Centennial.

Favorite Park Ridge historic landmark? The Pickwick Theater!
