I’M LARRY KOHN, a proud Park Ridge resident, husband, father of two. I founded Olympian Plumbing three years ago to bring trustworthy and knowledgeable plumbing services to our community. We specialize in residential emergency repairs, often providing same-day service to get your home back to normal as quickly as possible.

Can you tell us about your family? I met my wife Alex in 2019 while living in Chicago. In the past 5 years we had two kids, started a business in 2022, got married in 2022, and moved to the burbs in 2022. (Big year) I grew up with a large extend family with over 50 cousins who were my first friends as we spent our weekend up north in Wisconsin every summer. I have two sisters both with a handful of kids and married into a large family as well.

What inspired you to start your business? We only get one shot at this thing called life, so might as well follow your gut. I saw an opportunity and couldn’t pass up the challenge. There was something inside me I can’t explain that made me quit my job and go after it.

What do you find most fulfilling about what you do? Being able to help and educate our customers on their homes plumbing systems as well as trying to help everyone out no matter their budget. Those jobs make you feel the best.

What advice can you offer to the residents? Annual maintenance will always save you money in the long run as well as doing full replacements when needed to keep your home running tip top. If you don’t change the oil in your car the engine isn’t going to last. Same goes for your home.
