Key Information for Pupils Staff involved Mr Blezard is responsible for all aspects of the Gleneagles Golf Programme, assisted by Mrs Caine and Mr Oliver.
Communication Information about the golf programme is posted on Teams. Please check the Team regularly and use Teams to contact us.
Storing your clubs If you are bringing your golf clubs into school, you can leave them in the Golf Simulator building, once it is open. Until then, they can be securely left in the Junior School shed.
Golf Kit The kit you have should last the year. Please ensure all kit is named so it can be returned to you if it gets misplaced. If you need replacement kit, please get your parents/guardians to contact me. Replacement items may take some time to get to you since they are customised specifically for our golf programme, and there may be a charge on some items, so it is your responsibility to look after it.
Toptracer Toptracer technology has been installed at Gleneagles and it may be useful for you to have the app installed on your smartphone (if you have one). A new development with Toptracer is that is has the capacity to record and track some of the statistics when hitting balls. For pupils looking to get more advanced coaching, we hope this will help them and be useful for setting targets.
Transport Arrangements
Departure Arrangements to Gleneagles The minibuses going to Gleneagles depart from the Playfair clock at 3:40pm sharp. You are allowed to get changed into your golf kit at lunchtime, if you wish. Your school lessons finish at 3:25pm so you have time to get your belongings and get to the bus(es) on time. If you are late, the bus will leave without you and there is little opportunity for you to reschedule your lesson if you miss one, so please make every effort to get on the bus in good time. If you are making your own way to Gleneagles, you must let the member of staff in charge of your group that day know in advance that this is the case.
Lesson Timings Golf lessons start from the moment we arrive at Gleneagles and finish at 5:00pm
Pick up at Gleneagles If you are getting picked up at Gleneagles, please let the member of staff in charge of your group know. Pick up time is 5:00pm. Please don’t go until you have informed the member of staff in charge of your group.
Pick up at Dollar We return to Dollar usually no later than 5:40pm but it’s best to let your parents/guardians know to be at the school for 5:30pm.
Lesson Dates All groups on all tiers have 5 weeks of group lessons before the October break then a further 5 group lessons from March – May. You should know which day you have your lesson on but if you are in any doubt, please ask me. The schedule is as follows...

Saturday Arrangements There are additional (optional) Saturday swing check lessons. Full details of these are posted on Teams, but the following arrangements are in place from August 2026. Saturday Arrangements: Boarders The minibus leaves school at 10:15am. There is a swing check lesson which finishes at 12:00pm. Boarders have tee times reserved on the following courses in the first half of term 1: Sat 22 Aug: PGA Centenary (Ryder and Solheim Cups course) Sat 29 Aug: PGA Centenary Sat 05 Sep: King’s and Queen’s courses Sat 12 Sep: King’s and Queen’s courses Sat 19 Sep: PGA Centenary Sat 26 Sep: King’s and Queen’s Courses Sat 03 Oct: King’s and Queen’s Courses We generally get back to Dollar about 5:30pm. There is a halfway house on the courses at Gleneagles and pupils can get something to eat there during their round, if they wish. Details of the winter schedule from October – March will be posted on Teams.
Saturday Arrangements: Day Pupils Day pupils will have an optional swing check lesson from 12:00 – 1:00pm. Day pupils should indicate by 12:30pm each Wednesday if they are attending the swing check lesson – there will be a weekly post in the Gleneagles Programme Team with instructions. Day pupils can make their own bookings onto any of the courses after their swing check lesson. Day pupils should make their own travel arrangements to/from Gleneagles on Saturdays.
Driving Range & Extra Lessons Driving Range Access All pupils on the Gleneagles golf programme have full access to the driving range and can use the facilities at the PGA Academy at Gleneagles. There is no need to book but please let the staff there know your name and that you are on the programme and they will take care of things for you. Extra Lessons and Booking Rounds If you require any additional lessons, these can be booked (at a preferential rate) directly through the PGA Academy by contacting the Gleneagles team on 01764 694343 or via golf.academy@gleneagles.com. Please make sure you give the staff your name and state that you are on the Dollar Academy Gleneagles Programme when making your booking. All pupils on the Gleneagles golf programme have full golf membership and can access all of the courses throughout the year. Bookings for these should be made using the contact details above.
On Campus Facilities Outdoor Practice Nets We have 4 outdoor practice bays located behind the Prep School astro. There is no need to book these. Please ensure you put the net back neatly after you have finished. Noise should be kept a minimum – strictly no speakers or loud music. Do not use any club more lofted than an 8 iron for safety – balls should NOT be going over the top of the net. Golf Centre and Simulator Room The golf simulator will be situated in the new building, near the driving nets. It is hoped this will be open before the October half term break. Once opened, pupils on all tiers will be able to book in, via a folder in the Senior School Office, for a 20 minute session after school from 3:40 – 4:50pm. All bookings must be made at least a day in advance, so please plan ahead. Full details will be posted on Teams, but get in touch with Mr Blezard if you have any questions. Winter Schedule Winter Driving Range Practice From October to March, pupils may be offered some range practice after school. Details of dates and times will be posted on Teams, which is also where pupils should sign up. Toptracer is also available at the driving range we use during the winter.

There is no substitute for practice and we are very lucky to have such world class facilities available to us.
