INTERVIEW WITH CALLUM MCLEOD HEAD OF HOCKEY

What is your role and what will you be focusing on?

Head of hockey - Start boys' hockey at the school, develop the indoor

programme to a wider group and more competitive opportunities, work

closely with clubs to deliver more opportunities to play outside of school.

Where did you work before joining us?

Scottish Hockey.

What inspired you to join this team/organisation?

People make places and Dollar Academy is a special place for that reason.

What part of your role are you most excited about?

Always working with pupils on the pitch in training and matches.

What’s one professional skill or strength you bring to the team?

I have a broad background in sport - playing, administering and coaching.

Where are you from originally?

Perth.

What’s a fun fact about you that not many people know?

I have flown a helicopter over the school.

INTERVIEW WITH CALLUM MCLEOD HEAD OF HOCKEY

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Playing golf and cycling.

Do you have any hobbies or interests you’re passionate about?

Golf and cycling - Dollar is a cyclist's paradise when the sun shines.

Tea or coffee? Or something else entirely?

Coffee in the morning and tea in the afternoon/evening.

What’s your go-to karaoke song or favourite music artist?

I was once traumatised by karaoke at a conference so I avoid at all costs.

Guns n Roses is probably my favourite band.

If you could travel anywhere right now, where would you go?

The Arctic.

What's one item you always have on your desk or in your bag?

My airpods - they are very useful for the bus on a Saturday morning

travelling to away games.

One piece of advice for the pupils at Dollar?

Stick by the school values and you will not go wrong.
