A NOTE FROM LYNSEY ALLAN DIRECTOR OF SPORT
Welcome to the first edition of the Dollar Sport Newsletter!
At Dollar, sport is about more than jus results — it’s about dedication, teamwork, and the character that emerges through competition and personal challenge.
This newsletter is our opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our pupils, whether as individuals or as pa of a team.
We look forward to showcasing highlights from across the school, recognising both the standout moments and the steady progress tha defines success in sport.

STAFF UPDATE
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Stevie Wilson as Head of Rugby, and Callum McLeod as Head of Hockey!
STEVIE WILSON | HEAD OF RUGBY
Stevie represented Scotland at all age-group levels and competed in two U20 Six Nations tournaments and a Junior World Cup.
He has been the Strength and Conditioning coach for Scotland's U16, U17, and U18 rugby teams, and most recently for the Glasgow Warriors Women's team over the past two seasons. He has successfully implemented the Athletic Development programme here at Dollar.
CALLUM MCLEOD | HEAD OF HOCKEY
As a player, Callum represented Scotland in hockey at all levels from school to the senior men's team. He has coached schools, clubs and international teams, both at home and abroad.
He was the Scottish Hockey Performance Manager for 10 years prior to going into teaching.
PUPIL SUCCESS
FRAYA (FORM VI) - SHOOTING
We’re pleased to share that Fraya has been invited to join the Scottish Squad’s Performance Programme for 10m Precision Air Rifle athletes. This is an outstanding achievement and reflects her commitment, focus, and talent in a highly technical sport.
Congratulations to Fraya on this exciting next step in her sporting journey!
JET (FORM I) - SWIMMING
Congratulations to Jet (Form I), who competed in the East Kilbride Long Course Age Group Meet over the weekend and won a silver medal in the 11–13 age group 200m backstroke.
A fantastic result and a strong performance in a competitive field — well done, Jet!


PUPIL SUCCESS
KIRSTY
(FORM IV) & SALOMÉ (FORM III) - NETBALL
We’re delighted to celebrate the recent success of Kirsty and Salomé, who both played for the Stirling Swifts U17 team this season. The team were crowned champions of the Central Netball Association’s Division 1 league. They were undefeated over six matches!
Kirsty has been a committed member of the Swifts for three years and also plays for two other netball teams, including one at District level a fantastic testament to her dedication to the sport.
Well done to both girls on their achievement!
ADAM (PREP 3) - TENNIS
Congratulations to Adam, who has been selected to represent the North of Scotland in the Under 8 County Cup taking place in Aberdeen on Sunday 27 April. This is a fantastic achievement at such a young age and a clear reflection of Adam’s hard work and potential on the tennis court.
We wish him all the best for the competition!

Well done to Neko, Sophie, Annabelle, Lucy and Niamh, who have been selected for the Midland U15 Hockey Squad!

DYLAN (FORM V) - RUGBY
Congratulations to Dylan, who played with the Edinburgh U17 squad at a rugby festival held at Oriam this month!

Well done to our Junior girls who participated in the Scottish Schools Athletics Association Cross Country Championships! Our Junior 1 girls team put up a fantastic performance, placing 2 in the competition. nd

CAM (FORM V), ADAM (FORM IV) AND DYLAN (FORM V) - RUGBY JUNIOR PUPILS - CROSS COUNTRY
Congratulations to our talented rugby players Cam, Adam, and Dylan, who have been selected to represent Caledonia U17s and Edinburgh U17s in the Boys’ Regional Fixtures held on Sunday 20 April. This is a fantastic achievement that reflects their hard work, dedication, and skill on the pitch.
We’re proud to see them performing at such a high level and wish them continued success in their rugby journeys.
