It gives me enormous pleasure to welcome you to the 2026 Doha College Yearbook. Our yearbook contains a snapshot of the wonderful range of activities that have taken place in College during the course of the year. In its pages you will find a plethora of pupil successes - in the classroom, on the sports field and on the stage. What stands out above all these successes however, is how impressive, independent and compassionate our pupils are. They are the best ambassadors for the College and their happiness, positivity and curiosity is infectious. The year has been a particularly successful one for Doha College with the school receiving numerous awards and accolades - including a highly commended School of the Year award in the annual MENA School Awards Ceremony. This recognition, alongside Doha College appearing once again in the prestigious Spear’s School Index of the top 100 private schools in the world, is an endorsement of the excellent work and commitment of all members of the College community. With regional hostilities dominating the latter stages of the academic year, this will have been a challenging year for many members of our community. I have been exceptionally proud of how our community has responded to these challenges how our teachers and support staff worked tirelessly to ensure that successful and inspiring learning continued, how our pupils maintained their ambition and positivity in spite of the challenges, and how our parents supported the College in navigating the restrictions and limitations. Working in an all-through school - where pupils can progress from the Early Years right the way through to university - is a really special privilege. Watching the pupils’ journey from reading and writing their first words through to the complexities of the work that pupils will go on to do in the Secondary School reinforces how special and important the work that goes on in the Primary School is. It is here where the foundations for successful learning are constructed - where pupils develop a natural curiosity and a love for the learning that they do. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those individuals who have contributed to the yearbook. We feel that providing all pupils with a hard copy of the yearbook is important in providing them with a long term memento of their experiences over the course of the year. Hopefully, it is something they will treasure in the years to come.

As we look back on another exceptional year at Doha College Primary, this quote reflects the collective spirit that defines our community. Every day, our school is shaped by the dedication of our staff, the enthusiasm of our pupils, and the support of our families. Together, we have created an environment where children are encouraged to grow, challenge themselves and celebrate their achievements. It is this shared commitment that allows us to truly live our motto: Excellence for all, excellence from all. Throughout the year, our pupils have continued to impress us with their determination, curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. In classrooms, on sports fields and on stage, they have embraced every opportunity with confidence and pride. At times when learning moved beyond the classroom and into our homes, their resilience was particularly evident. Adapting to remote learning required flexibility, perseverance and a positive mindset, and our children rose to that challenge brilliantly. Their commitment to staying connected, supporting one another and continuing their learning during this time is something our whole community can be immensely proud of. A standout moment of the year was the Year 6 participation in the BSME Games, where our pupils represented Doha College with pride, determination and outstanding teamwork. Competing against schools from across the region, our teams delivered some excellent performances. The girls’ football and athletics teams both secured an impressive 3rd place, while the boys’ football and basketball teams finished 4th in their respective competitions. These results, combined with the effort and commitment shown by every member of the squad, saw Doha College finish 4th overall across the Games, the strongest finish by our Primary team for many years! It was a wonderful achievement and a reflection not only of the pupils’ athletic ability, but also of their sportsmanship, resilience and support for one another throughout the competition. Equally impressive have been the many performances and productions that have graced our stages this year. From Foundation Stage assemblies to the incredible Year 6 production of Oliver Jr!, our pupils have dazzled us with their confidence, their storytelling and their ability to work collaboratively. These moments have not only showcased individual talents but have brought our community together in celebration. Our Winter Wonderland event was another wonderful highlight of the year and a true celebration of our community spirit. The school was transformed into a hub of enter activity, with families coming together to enjoy performances, activities and the special community spirit that makes DC so special. It was a fantastic opportunity for our children to share their talents and for our community to connect and celebrate together. A particular thank you must go to the parent volunteers who worked tirelessly to bring this incredible event to life! Behind every successful school experience is a dedicated team, and Doha College Primary is fortunate to have exceptional teachers and support staff. Their energy, care and expertise ensure every child feels supported, challenged and encouraged to achieve their best, helping our community continue striving for excellence. To our pupils: you are at the heart of everything we do. Your enthusiasm, curiosity and resilience make our school a vibrant place to learn. We are incredibly proud of all you have achieved this year and look ahead with confidence, knowing these experiences will continue to strengthen our community.

This year will be remembered as one that truly highlighted the strength, warmth, and sense of community that define Doha College. Across the school, I have been continually impressed by the resilience shown by our pupils. From our youngest children in FS1, who arrive each day full of curiosity and excitement, through the Primary years, where pupils grow in confidence and independence, to the Secondary years, where ambitions begin to take shape, our children demonstrate maturity, perseverance, and a remarkable sense of purpose. Our eldest pupils, working diligently through their examination years, show focus and determination as they prepare for the next stage of their journeys, while those in the years between continue to explore new interests, build friendships, and discover their strengths. There have been many wonderful moments throughout the year. In classrooms, on the stage, on the sports field, and in the everyday interactions that make up school life, our pupils have continued to support one another, to learn with enthusiasm, and to approach each day with optimism. When I reflect on this year, what stands out most is the strong sense of community that defines Doha College. Pupils, staff, and families have come together with kindness, encouragement, and a shared commitment to helping our children flourish. A yearbook captures memories, but it also captures the essence of a moment in time. This year has shown us just how thoughtful, resilient and remarkable our pupils are. It has been a privilege to watch them grow, and I am confident that the experiences and friendships formed this year will stay with them for many years to come.

Message from Deputy Heads Danielle Price PRIMARY DEPUTY HEAD - PASTORAL As we reach the end of another school year, I am filled with pride reflecting on the strong sense of belonging that defines our community. At the heart of pastoral care lies a simple truth: pupils thrive when they feel connected—to themselves, to one another, and to the adults who support them each day. This year has presented unique and unexpected challenges, but well-being has continued to be at the forefront of school life. By prioritising meaningful relationships and fostering a culture of care, it will always remain our key priority to ensure that every pupil feels seen, heard, and valued. The Zones of Regulation programme, which has provided a shared language for understanding emotions and supporting selfregulation, is embedded across the Primary School alongside research-backed regulation routines. Our pupils are empowered with practical
12
strategies to manage their feelings and recognise how they can help others. Connection has also been strengthened through opportunities to come together and celebrate as a community. Events such as World Book Day, Winter Wonderland, and Qatar National Day have created joyful shared experiences, reinforcing our collective identity and sense of pride. These moments remind us that school is not only a place of learning, but also a place of belonging. As we look ahead, we remain committed to nurturing a supportive environment where relationships are at the centre of all we do. Thank you to our pupils, staff, and families for contributing to such a positive and connected school community. Together, we continue to grow.
David Cann PRIMARY DEPUTY HEAD - ACADEMIC As another year at Doha College comes to an end, it’s with great pride we can look back on everything we have shared. This has been a year full of growth, energy, resilience and memorable moments.
through their kindness and respect. I also want to extend a heartfelt thanks to our parents who have supported, questioned and challenged, you support our growth and make this school a real community.
I am so proud of our children and all their accomplishments. From our youngest learners taking their first steps in education, confident performances across school in assemblies, to the sporting excellence across the school – including Year 6 finishing 4th in the BSME and 2nd in the World School Games – the achievements have been impressive. Most of all, I’m proud of the daily excellence and kindness our children have shown. They have demonstrated great resilience and care for one another throughout the year.
To our leavers – we are incredibly proud of you. Carry that growth mindset with you and keep believing in yourselves. To everyone else – keep supporting each other and making the most of every day.
The children have embraced learning with enthusiasm and made our diverse community of over 80 nationalities feel warm and welcoming
I look forward to seeing you all after the break. Have a wonderful summer.
A dear friend once told me ‘Prepare the child for the path, not the path for the child.’ This feels more relevant now than ever before – thank you for supporting us in preparing the DC children for their path – however that may look.

Message from Assistant Head Teachers Eva Taggart ASSISTANT HEAD, EYFS
There is something truly special about Early Years, where curiosity, wonder, and joy are part of every day. One of my favorite moments is greeting the children and families each morning, watching the children run into school full of excitement for the day ahead. It is in these small, everyday moments that the magic of Early Years is most evident. This year has been filled with many memorable experiences. Our Winter Wonderland performance will stay with me, as our FS1 children, still so new to school, sang with such confidence for their families, and our FS2 children performed so beautifully, even as they bravely battled the rain. Our Stay and Play events have also been incredibly special, allowing families to step into
14
their children’s learning, alongside our Term 3 performances where we see the children truly shine. As our FS2 children take their next steps into Key Stage 1, we know they will carry with them the confidence, kindness, and love of learning that has grown so strongly during their time in Early Years. We look forward to seeing our FS1 children flourish as they transition into FS2, and we eagerly anticipate welcoming new children and families to our community in September. I have thoroughly enjoyed my first year as Assistant Head at Doha College and feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such a warm, supportive, and exceptional community. Early Years is just the beginning of their journey, and what a wonderful beginning it is.
Hannah Wood ASSISTANT HEAD, YEARS 1 AND 2
What a memorable year it has been in Key Stage 1, filled with curiosity, adventure and so many moments of joy. Our children have embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm, making this year truly special. Year 1 set off on an exciting Doha Bus tour, taking their learning beyond the classroom and into the city around them. Meanwhile, Year 2 enjoyed a fantastic trip to the Doha Old Port and Aquarium, where their sense of wonder was clear to see as they explored and asked thoughtful questions about the world around them. One of the standout moments of the year was our wonderful Winter Wonderland celebration in December, which brought our entire Key Stage 1 community together. It was a truly special occasion, with children and families enjoying
games, activities and refreshments, and a real sense of togetherness across the school. Our Creating Connections events have also been a highlight. The Great Fire of London came to life in the most engaging way, with the children confidently quizzing adults on their historical knowledge and demonstrating just how much they had learned. We also transformed into explorers, as Year 1 shared their learning about adventures, inspiring us all with their imagination and storytelling. Across the year, the children have grown not only in their learning, but in confidence, independence and kindness. It has been a year full of energy, discovery and connection, and it is only fitting that we end it having an absolute blast.

Year 3 and 4. What a year it has been and what a group of young people you have proven yourselves to be!
involved). Your visit to Torba Farm brought your learning to life and gave you a chance to connect with the world around you in a meaningful way.
You have been incredible. In a year that has brought real challenges for our whole community, you have adapted brilliantly to remote learning, supported one another, and shown resilience well beyond your years. It has been genuinely heartwarming to see how pupils, staff, and families have come together. That sense of unity is something you should be proud of.
Year 4, your exploration of the Anglo-Saxons helped you understand how people lived in the past and just how far we have come. Throughout the year, you have lived out our DC Learner Profile, showing curiosity in your learning, resilience when things felt difficult, and responsibility in the way you approached both school and home learning. Each day has brought new opportunities to witness their growth, not only academically, but in confidence, compassion, and character. This has truly been a year of remarkable achievements and unforgettable moments. Our Year 6 production of Oliver was nothing short of outstanding, with pupils captivating audiences through their talent, dedication, and professionalism. Pupil leadership has been a defining strength across both year groups. Our pupils have embraced their roles with integrity and enthusiasm. They have led by example, contributing positively to school life and inspiring those around them.
Together, these experiences, along with the many other moments of growth, achievement, and joy throughout the year, have defined a truly exceptional period rich in creativity, leadership, and connection. I am incredibly proud of all that our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils have accomplished. To our Year 6 pupils, as you move on to secondary school, I wish you every success and happiness in the exciting journey ahead. To our Year 5 pupils, I look forward to seeing you step into your roles as the oldest pupils in the primary school. Your final year will be full of opportunities to lead, inspire, and shine, and I have no doubt you will embrace it with enthusiasm and pride.
Year 6’s spectacular “Trashion Show” was a highlight of creativity and innovation, blending environmental awareness with bold, imaginative design. Equally memorable were Year 5’s Tudor Day and Greek Day, where history came vividly to life through immersive experiences, collaboration, and purposeful engagement.

FS1
FS1 have had an incredible year of many firsts at Doha College. We enjoyed meeting our first teachers, exploring new stories and joining in with new whole school events such as sports day! We have enjoyed having many visitors come and see us, from a gymnastics class to a drumming workshop! Through one of our topics about dinosaurs, we enjoyed a special ‘Dino Day’! Parents came for a ‘roar-some’ Stay & Play session and the FS1 hub was like a jungle full of little dinosaurs for the day! The children have grown up so much over this year; making new friends, learning all about school, discovering new topics and so much more. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for them in their journey through Doha College!

World Science Day November 2025
Doha College marked World Science Day with a fantastic celebration of curiosity, creativity, and collaboration across the school! World Science Day was established by UNESCO in 2001 to highlight the importance of science in society and to encourage public engagement in scientific issues. Children came dressed as scientists and proudly shared their own imaginative inventions. Through engaging activities, they learned about how scientists have made groundbreaking contributions to health and well-being around the world. A group of enthusiastic Year 9 pupils volunteered in the Primary School, helping to inspire our younger learners. This invaluable experience helped to strengthen their communication and leadership skills and build a sense of community. World Science Day at Doha College showcased the spirit of inquiry that lies at the heart of our community, inspiring the scientists, innovators, and thinkers of the future.

This year in FS2 has been truly special, filled with joyful moments, exciting discoveries and meaningful learning experiences. In Term 1, we explored fascinating themes such as I wonder why I am special? and I wonder how it grows? These topics were brought to life through engaging stories like What Should Danny Do? and Jack and the Beanstalk. A highlight of the term was our fantastic trip to CurioCity, where the children developed their physical skills in a vibrant and inspiring environment, building teamwork, confidence and curiosity. Our adventures continued in Term 2 with a delightful Teddy Bear’s Picnic and an unforgettable Pirate Day. The children fully embraced the spirit of the day by creating their own costumes and treasure, allowing their imaginations to set sail and bringing learning to life in a fun and creative way. In the Summer Term, our learning journey began with an exciting exploration of outer space, where we discovered planets, stars and the wonders of the universe. Inspired by real-life space exploration, including the upcoming Artemis II mission, this topic sparked awe, curiosity and excitement. The children also enjoyed following their own interests, helping to guide and deepen their learning.
32
We were incredibly proud of the children as they performed their class assembly based on The Very Hungry Caterpillar, captivating the audience with their enthusiasm, confidence and storytelling skills. We also enjoyed a wonderful visit from OliOli, where the children engaged in hands-on exploration, creativity and play. To all our FS2 children, we are so proud of your progress. You have grown in confidence, formed meaningful friendships, worked hard and embraced every opportunity. As you move on to Year 1, we know you will continue to shine. We wish you all the very best for the exciting journey ahead! Linzi Abaza Head of FS2

KS1 PLAYGROUND October 2025
Over the course of this year, we have continued to develop and enhance our Key Stage 1 outdoor spaces to create environments where children can play, explore and learn together. From additional shaded areas and cooling misters to help us maximise our time outdoors in the warmer months, to the introduction of sensory pathways, reading corners and exciting new climbing opportunities, our playground has continued to evolve into a space full of opportunity and joy.
40
We are especially grateful to our parent community, whose generous donations made our new misters, additional shading and two fantastic new play structures possible. These enhancements have transformed our outdoor environment, allowing children to enjoy more time outside in comfort whilst supporting active play, physical development and imaginative exploration.
It has been wonderful to see the children making the most of our new KS1 play area, building friendships, developing resilience, using their imaginations and embracing active play every day. Our outdoor spaces have become an extension of the classroom, supporting creativity, well-being and curiosity in so many ways. A huge thank you must also go to our wonderful KS1 families for your donations of pots, pans and resources throughout the year, helping us further develop our mud kitchen provision. The children have absolutely loved creating, exploring and getting wonderfully messy! We are incredibly proud of the outdoor spaces we continue to build together for our KS1 children, spaces that inspire adventure, play and learning every single day.

What a memorable and rewarding year it has been in Year 1. From the very beginning, the children embraced each new challenge with enthusiasm, curiosity and a growing sense of independence. It has been a joy to watch their confidence grow as they have developed both academically and personally. Throughout the year, the children explored a range of engaging topics, from Wonderful Me and The Victorians to Explorers, Fantastic Forests and Castles. Each topic brought opportunities for creativity, discussion and hands-on learning, allowing the children to deepen their understanding of the world around them. There have been many highlights along the way. Our Doha Bus Tour was a fantastic experience, giving the children the chance to explore their local environment beyond the classroom. The Explorers Dress-Up Day was another special moment, where families joined us for a wonderful morning of a costume parade and treasure hunt, creating lasting memories for everyone involved. We were also incredibly proud of the children during their Giraffes Can’t Dance assembly and our magical Winter Wonderland performance. Watching them perform with such joy and confidence on stage was a true highlight for all of us. This festive spirit continued as we celebrated Qatar National Day, where the children loved dressing in national colors and learning more about the rich culture and heritage of our host country.
42
Beyond their studies, the children have fully immersed themselves in school life through various House events. Whether they were cheering for their teammates or participating in friendly competitions, these moments have been wonderful for building team spirit and a sense of belonging. Over the year, the children have grown not only in their learning but also in their resilience and independence, showing increasing responsibility for their own work and choices. It has been a privilege to be part of their journey this year, and we are so proud of all they have achieved. Sarah Sheridan Head of Year 1

World Animal Day October 2025
Doha College’s Charities Committee led a pawsome Animal Day celebration on 4 October, filling the school with colour, creativity, and plenty of animal spirit! Pupils and staff came dressed as their favourite animals or sported animal-themed accessories. It was truly exciting to see different animals from different habitats all congregating at our campus. Activities throughout the day included a festivalstyle photo booth, face painting, and ice lolly sales in both Primary and Secondary. Pupils had a whale of a time taking part, while prizes were awarded to the best-dressed participants for their fantastic efforts. The funds raised went towards supporting animal well-being initiatives, and the committee later visited local shelters to volunteer their time and deliver the donations in person. It was a truly moving experience that helped spread kindness and compassion.

Wow, what an incredible year it has been for Year 2 at Doha College! From the very first term to the final weeks, our brilliant children have embraced every opportunity to explore, create and grow. This year has been filled with memorable experiences, from marvelling at marine life during our trip to the Aquarium to enjoying a wide range of engaging classroom activities that sparked curiosity and creativity. We have loved watching the children flourish in their reading journeys, moving confidently from phonics to deeper comprehension with enthusiasm and skill. A particularly standout aspect of this year has been the children’s impressive resilience and perseverance during our rapid transition to online remote learning. Despite the sudden changes and some events being unable to go ahead as planned, they approached each day with positivity, adaptability and determination, continuing to engage fully with their learning and support one another along the way. Our Class Reps have taken on their roles with great responsibility and pride this year. They have contributed thoughtful ideas, helped support their classmates and played an important part in building a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Our calendar has been buzzing with exciting events, from the magic of World Book Day to competitive House and Sports Days, as well as our much-loved Creating Connections events. Who could forget the dazzling dioramas, Fire of London quizzes, or our speedy balloon cars?! Our Interdisciplinary Learning topics have been a real highlight too. Packed with hands-on investigations, creative design projects and fascinating discoveries. Whether conducting experiments or diving into vibrant art pieces, Year 2 pupils showed curiosity and creativity every step of the way.
Martin Jarvis Head of Year 2
Through it all, high-quality texts in English have inspired thoughtful discussions, imaginative writing and a true love for stories. We are so proud of everything our Year 2 pupils have achieved. They have shown enthusiasm, resilience and a wonderful spirit throughout the year, making memories to last a lifetime. Here’s to a fantastic year and an even brighter future ahead!

World Book Day April 2026
Beloved characters from the pages of our favourite books leapt off the pages and into the halls of Doha College in April. For World Book Day, our pupils and staff embraced their favourite characters, marking the highlight of a week dedicated to books and storytelling. From engaging activities and costume parades in Primary to live readings from our talented pupil writers in Secondary, every moment reflected a genuine love for literature.

As we close out Year 3, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the fantastic year we’ve had together. It’s been a year full of new discoveries, creativity, and moments I know we’ll all remember, and I couldn’t be prouder of what your children have accomplished. Our main focus this year was a deep dive into ancient history. We kicked things off by traveling back to the Stone Age, learning about early human life. The pupils really became historians, investigating the mysteries of Stonehenge and seeing how the first settled communities began. Next, our journey took us East to Ancient China and the Bronze Age Shang Dynasty. A huge highlight was solving the puzzle of the oracle bones, it felt like a direct connection to a civilization thousands of years old. Finally, we arrived in Rome, exploring its massive Iron Age empire, amazing engineering, and how much it shaped our modern world. The best moment of that unit was our Rome-themed assembly, where the children absolutely shone, delivering their lines and performances with real energy and sharing their knowledge with everyone. Beyond our history lessons, our trip to Torba Farm was a key experience. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature and see, firsthand, the journey of food

production from early farming to modern sustainability right here in our desert environment. We also had plenty of fun celebrating as a community, from the festive Winter Wonderland and showing our national pride on Qatar National Day to the incredible costumes and imagination we saw on World Book Day. Your children have shown amazing curiosity, resilience, and a real eagerness to learn at every step. They are definitely ready and wellequipped for the new adventures waiting for them in Year 4.

CAMPUS DEVELOPMENT We are very lucky to have parents who have been able to support various enhancements to the school for the benefit of our pupils. Al Attiyah Architecture Group Holding generous donation to Doha College funded the development of a new outdoor playground, providing pupils with a vibrant and safe space for physical activity, social interaction, and play. P5 Shading area This thoughtfully enhanced outdoor space has been created through the kindness of a DC family, with the intention of providing children a place where every way of seeing and experiencing the world is valued and celebrated. Year-round shading was provided by a calming blue canopy, reflecting a sense of understanding and peace while symbolising the beauty of unique minds that shine in their own way. Designed to be both comfortable and imaginative, the space features shaded areas, cooling fans, and a treehouse for exploration, inviting pupils to feel a true sense of belonging. It stands as a gentle reminder that harmony begins when we embrace different perspectives and create environments where every child can thrive. S4 Garden and Table Tennis tables Mr and Mrs Abdo’s generous donation has made a wonderful contribution to the school community, providing four table tennis tables that have quickly become a popular and engaging feature for pupils. In addition, their thoughtful support extended to enhancing the school environment through the donation of plants for a garden area, including personally planting them. This hands-on contribution has helped create a more vibrant, welcoming space for pupils to enjoy, supporting both active play and a stronger connection to the natural environment.

November 2025
A splash, a sprint, and an unforgettable milestone at Doha College! In November, more than 400 Year 3–6 pupils took part in our first-ever Primary Aquathlon, a celebration of determination, teamwork and the joy of movement. From the pool to the final run around campus, our young athletes gave it their all, supported by 30+ members of staff, enthusiastic pupil marshals and a wonderful crowd of parents. Every finisher was congratulated by Mr Watson and awarded a certificate for their fantastic effort. Pupils were also inspired by a visit from professional triathlete Kaidi Kivioja, who shared honest insights into elite sport, resilience and the power of believing in oneself.
72
The Aquathlon became a memorable day for everyone involved. Pupils cheered one another on every step of the way, showing determination, kindness and true team spirit. Well done to all our pupils!

From the very first week, our fantastic pupils impressed us with their creativity, curiosity, and courage. Their achievements have been truly inspiring, and every child should feel proud of how far they’ve come. We began the year with our exciting topic, ‘What Powers a Kingdom?’ which sparked imagination across the classroom. We built castles for our kingdoms and created class mottos and flags to represent us throughout the year. Pupils explored electricity and sound in science, created abstract art inspired by Kandinsky, and crafted canopic jars from clay. The term ended with our Egyptian Day, which was a clear highlight filled with memorable costumes and enthusiasm. In the spring term, our topic ‘How Much Do We Really Need Water?’ inspired rich learning through the story The Water Horse. Pupils developed persuasive writing and explanation texts, explored the water cycle, and investigated habitats. Their geography project comparing Qatar and Scotland demonstrated impressive global awareness. We thoroughly enjoyed our water-based activity camp with Blue Pearl, where we learned about water conservation and took part in some brilliant team building activities.

The summer term took us into the fascinating world of the AngloSaxons and Vikings. Pupils became young historians, exploring their stories, journeys, and battles, and writing their own exciting quest narratives. Throughout all the challenges that this year brought us, Year 4 pupils, teachers and assistant teachers worked brilliantly together to achieve their full potential. We are all very proud of everyone in Year 4 this year!

As we reach the end of this school year, we are incredibly proud to look back at everything our Year 5 classes have achieved. It has been a wonderful journey filled with discovery, where every pupil has shown real dedication and enthusiasm for their learning, alongside a growing maturity that has been a joy to see. Throughout the year, we explored a range of fascinating topics that challenged us to think ‘BIG’, from the power of nature in our Extreme Earth topic, to the royal history of the Tudors, to looking beyond our planet during our Space topic, and more recently, discovering the impact the Ancient Greeks had on our modern world. Our pupils demonstrated great curiosity, whether diving into scientific experiments or exploring new worlds through their reading. Beyond the classroom, this year marked a significant step forward in personal growth and teamwork. At our Blue Pearl leadership camp, the children embraced new challenges such as archery, cycling and outdoor adventures. Great fun was had by all. These experiences helped them learn to work collaboratively and remain positive when faced with challenges. We were also delighted to see so many children step into leadership roles. For the very first time, Year 5 pupils became House Ambassadors, leading the way for their house companions. Many also took on additional responsibilities as part of the Well-being, Eco, Digital, Charities, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committees, contributing their ideas to wider school initiatives. There have been many moments of joy and wonder throughout the year. During our themed days and Creating Connections events, we had numerous opportunities to
86

come together and celebrate our achievements. It was fantastic to welcome so many parents into our classrooms. During one Creating Connections event, we shared our Tudor learning and collaborated with visitors to create portraiture. In another, our Year 5 children took on the role of “experts” during a reading morning, sharing our core text, Space Oddity. We also enjoyed a number of trips that brought our learning to life, including a visit to the Planetarium, where we gazed at the stars to deepen our understanding of the “Space Race.” These experiences allowed the children to showcase their hard work and share their enthusiasm for learning with those who support them most. We also proudly celebrated National Qatar Day, showing our appreciation for the place we all call home. As we say goodbye to Year 5, it is clear that our children are ready for the exciting challenges of Year 6. Their kindness towards one another and their positive attitudes make them excellent role models as they become the oldest members of the Primary school. On behalf of all the Year 5 teachers, we would like to thank the children for their hard work and the parents for their continued support. We wish you all the very best for the year ahead.

Year 6 Trashion Show February 2026
The Year 6 ‘Trashion Show’ was a vibrant celebration of creativity, teamwork and sustainability, bringing learning to life in the most creative way. As part of their interdisciplinary learning (IDL) topic, pupils transformed recycled and unwanted materials into eye-catching fashion designs inspired by the natural world. With colourful creations and imaginative designs, as well as the explosive and enthusiastic energy our pupils exude throughout the runway, the event was indeed unforgettable. The encouragement from the audience was palpable. The Trashion Show served as a powerful reminder that even small changes can have a positive impact on the world around us. Most importantly, it was a joyful opportunity for pupils to express themselves, work together and celebrate the idea that creativity and caring for the planet can go hand in hand.

It has been a truly memorable and rewarding year in Year 6, defined by growth, resilience and a strong sense of community. From the very beginning, the children have approached each new challenge with enthusiasm and determination, setting a positive tone that has carried us through the year. One of the most striking aspects of this year has been the resilience the children have shown. Moving between in person and remote learning required adaptability, independence and a great deal of perseverance. They rose to this challenge with maturity, continuing to engage with their learning, support one another and maintain a positive outlook, even during periods of uncertainty. Academically, the progress made has been impressive. The children have engaged thoughtfully with a wide and varied curriculum, from exploring rich texts in English to tackling algebra with increasing confidence in maths, and deepening their understanding of the human body in science. Alongside this, they have developed as independent learners, showing curiosity, determination and pride in their work. Beyond the classroom, the year has been filled with opportunities to shine. From the creativity and collaboration of the Trashion Show to the energy and confidence
98
displayed in our production of Oliver Jr., the children have embraced each experience fully. These moments have not only showcased their talents but have also strengthened friendships and created lasting memories. What has stood out most is the character of this cohort. They have shown kindness, maturity and a genuine willingness to support one another, creating a year group where everyone feels valued. Nuala Ewing Head of Year 6
As the time comes to send them on to secondary school, there is a real sense of pride alongside a touch of sadness. They leave us ready for their next chapter, equipped with the skills, confidence and character to succeed, and while we will miss them greatly, we are immensely proud of all they have achieved. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the Year 6 team for their dedication and care, and to our parents for their continued support throughout the year. Most importantly, I would like to commend the children. It has been a privilege to watch them grow, and we look forward to seeing all that they will go on to achieve.

Modern Foreign Languages Reflecting on another remarkable year in the Modern Foreign Languages Department, we are reminded of the profound impact that learning new languages has on our young learners. As a Chinese proverb wisely states, “To learn a language is to have one more window from which to look at the world.” This sentiment lies at the heart of our purpose, encouraging not only language acquisition, but also genuine understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures. Over the past academic year, our department has continued to flourish, offering innovative opportunities and immersive experiences that make language learning both meaningful and enjoyable for our primary pupils. One of the most memorable events was our Year 5 French and Arabic breakfast gathering. Families joined us to sample traditional dishes, while our pupils impressed everyone by communicating confidently in both French and Arabic. This experience enabled the children to use their language skills beyond the classroom, helping them to develop greater confidence and fluency. Another proud moment was our outstanding performance in the BSME Qur’an Competition. Competing against 12 other schools globally, our team achieved an impressive second place. In addition, we participated in the BSME Arabic Spelling Bee, achieving excellent results in both competitions, a testament to the dedication and hard work of our pupils and staff. Reflecting on these successes fills us with excitement for the year ahead. The Modern Foreign Languages Department is not simply a place to learn vocabulary and grammar; it is a vibrant and inclusive community where pupils celebrate cultural diversity and grow into thoughtful, globally minded individuals. We are deeply grateful to our pupils, families, teachers, and the wider school community for their continued encouragement and enthusiasm throughout the year.

Music The Music Department at Doha College has continued to prove an integral part in the life of the College with another successful year of public performances, community support and personal triumphs. Primary Music engagement has provided all Doha College pupils the opportunity for personal growth and expression through teamwork and a true sense of community. Across each year group pupils have taken part in performances to showcase talents which build personal confidence and resilience. December saw the return of the Winter Concert series, demonstrating the wealth of talent held in the College across our Primary, Secondary and Instrumental Departments. The Primary concerts were a fantastic conclusion to a successful term of music making across the entire Primary School and showcased soloists, instrumental ensembles and choirs. The diversity of our ensembles was evident as the appreciative audience was treated to solo, choral and orchestral performances in a wide variety of genres. A huge congratulations to all those involved, they are an inspiration to us all. Our commitment to promoting the growth of young people through music continued in January when we hosted the eighth National Qatar School Choir of the Year Competition, which draws participation from schools across the country. This year’s event included an uplifting group song performed by all schools and directed by the head judge, featuring soloists and accompanied by a staff band from both Secondary and Instrumental teachers. Doha College’s Primary Choirs were outstanding in their commitment to excellence with both the Year 1-3 and the Year 4-6 choir progressing through to the final. This was a fantastic achievement which reflects the dedication of our pupils, parents, staff and the strength of our CCA programme. The culmination of this year’s musical calendar was marked by the Summer Concert series, performances that showcased the best of this year’s musical offerings. With both Primary and Secondary ensembles on show to a sell-out audience it truly was a memorable conclusion to another busy year in the Doha College Music Department. The Primary Concert featured performances from choirs, orchestras and fabulous solo offerings. We are so proud of your achievements. Congratulations to all. Doha College Primary Music is about far more than just instrumental and vocal performances, it is about building friendships, developing confidence and creating memories to last a lifetime. Through our music lessons, CCAs, concerts and competitions our pupils have grown as individuals and as a community. We are so proud of all they have achieved this year and we look forward to a future where our young musicians can once again flourish and shine.

Physical Education As Head of PE, I am extremely proud of everything our department and pupils have achieved this year. It has been one of our busiest and most successful years yet, filled with opportunities, participation, teamwork, and outstanding performances across a wide range of sporting events. We started the year with a very busy first term, including many QPPSSA events, Sports Week, our Football Festivals, and our very first Aquathlon. The Aquathlon was a huge success and a real highlight of the year. As this was the first time we had organised such an event, we were incredibly proud to see over 400 pupils take part and successfully complete the event. The determination, resilience, and enthusiasm shown by all pupils was fantastic to witness and demonstrated the growing passion for sport and physical activity across our school community. The second term continued this momentum and brought even more success. With the QPPSSA Games, World School Games, and U11’s BSME all taking place during this term, our pupils represented the school with absolute pride, commitment, and excellent sportsmanship. These events provided unforgettable experiences and opportunities for our pupils to compete at a high level while building confidence, teamwork, and resilience. What has stood out most this year has been the attitude and dedication of our pupils. Whether competing, supporting teammates, helping at events, or simply giving their best effort in PE lessons, Games lessons and CCAs, our pupils have consistently represented the values of our school with pride. Their hard work and commitment have been truly inspiring. I would also like to thank the PE staff, parents, and our wider school community for their continued support throughout the year. The success of our department would not be possible without the teamwork and dedication of so many people working together behind the scenes. This year has been a huge success for DC Primary PE and we look forward to building on these achievements next year.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES This year has seen significant growth and development within the Doha College Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) programme, ensuring it remains vibrant, inclusive and engaging for all pupils. We have expanded the range of opportunities available, offering greater choice across Sports, Service and Skills. New external providers have further strengthened the programme, bringing specialist expertise and fresh experiences for our pupils. Additions such as Gerys Sport, providing Roller Skating, and Molecular, offering Cooking and Baking, have enabled pupils to discover new interests and develop existing talents. Pupil voice has remained central to our approach. By listening to pupil interests and responding to their ideas, we continue to shape a programme that is relevant, exciting and meaningful. This encourages greater engagement while helping pupils take ownership of their personal development. Across the year, our pupils have achieved success across Sports, Service and Skills, demonstrating resilience, teamwork and ambition. These accomplishments reflect both their dedication and the unwavering support of our staff and external partners. As we look ahead, we remain committed to providing excellence beyond the classroom through a dynamic programme that continues to inspire, challenge and enrich every learner.

I am deeply committed to providing a broad, inclusive and high-quality Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) programme at Doha College, one that reflects our belief in excellence beyond the classroom. CCAs are a vital part of a holistic education, complementing strong academic and pastoral provision while helping pupils grow in confidence, character and capability. Our programme is designed to prepare pupils for life in a modern global society by offering opportunities that develop resilience, teamwork, leadership and independence. Through sport, service, creativity and skill-based activities, pupils are encouraged to discover new interests, challenge themselves and contribute positively to the community around them. CCAs also play an important role in nurturing respectful, responsible and open-minded young people. Pupils develop an understanding of British values while gaining a genuine appreciation for the diverse international community in which they live and learn. Through meaningful and engaging experiences, our pupils become enthusiastic learners, confident communicators, creative thinkers and reflective individuals who are ready to embrace opportunity. Community service and charitable initiatives further strengthen empathy, compassion and a sense of social responsibility. By fostering a varied and dynamic co-curricular experience, we aim to ensure every pupil can thrive, develop their talents and leave Doha College as a well-rounded individual, fully prepared for success in secondary school and life beyond.

Message from Charities Coordinators The Primary Charities Committee has demonstrated exceptional leadership and heart this year, driving meaningful change through dedicated service. In Term 1, pupils organised a school-wide Toy Sale, followed by an immensely popular Movie Night in Term 2. Together, these initiatives raised a combined total of QAR 11,015, which was donated to Education Above All to support the Assalam Schools. Pupil representatives even had the privilege of visiting the EAA offices to present the cheque in person, witnessing first-hand the global impact of their fundraising efforts.
Eva Taggart CHARITY COORDINATOR
In Term 3, the children sorted donations of food, clothes, and toiletries for our dedicated facilities and security staff. All primary children also created thank-you cards, celebrating community care and environmental responsibility and helping our support staff feel genuinely appreciated for all they do. The committee’s spirit also inspired remarkable individual action. Naylah (Year 6) launched a stall for Paws animal charity, while Minh (Year 4) performed extra chores to help buy food items which contributed to the Ramadan collection. These stories reflect the spirit of service we strive to instil in our pupils from a young age. A heartfelt thank you to our staff, parents, and pupils for making this year such a resounding success and proving that even the smallest hands can make a world of difference.

Message from DEI Coordinators This year in Primary, our DEI work has focused on nurturing a strong sense of belonging, respect, and celebration of diversity across the school community. We marked Black History Month through a range of engaging, in-person experiences, including drumming workshops, author visits, and learning activities that highlighted important histories, cultures, and contributions. These opportunities brought learning to life and allowed pupils to connect meaningfully with diverse voices and perspectives. We also celebrated neurodiversity and disability awareness through assemblies, stories, and the exploration of inspiring role models. These sessions supported pupils in understanding and valuing different ways of thinking, learning, and experiencing the world.
Maisie Hesketh DEI COORDINATOR
During our period of online learning, we continued this momentum by recognising both International Women’s Day and Neurodiversity Celebration Week, ensuring that important conversations around identity, equality, and inclusion remained visible and relevant. A key focus this year has been the importance of correctly pronouncing and spelling pupils’ names. This has helped to foster respect, affirm identity, and ensure every child feels recognised and valued within the school community.

Across the curriculum, diversity and inclusion have been thoughtfully embedded through carefully selected texts and topics, ensuring representation is part of everyday learning. Together, these experiences have helped to create an inclusive environment where all pupils feel seen, valued, and proud of who they are. We look forward to finishing our school year with International Day, which will be a day of vibrant celebration, cultural discovery, and global unity. It is a time when our campus transforms into a mosaic of traditions, where the air is filled with the aromas of international cuisines and the sounds of diverse music. As we share our unique heritages through colorful attire and spirited performances, we don’t just learn about the world; we experience the beautiful ties that bind our community together, sending us into the summer with a renewed sense of connection and perspective.

Digital and Communication Coordinators This year, the Digital Committee has focused on fostering an innovative and collaborative community across Doha College. Our dedicated Digital leaders stepped up to serve as vital technology touchpoints within their classrooms, acting as helpful peers and digital mentors. To support healthy habits, the pupil body engaged with an impactful assembly centered around managing screen time. Furthermore, the committee extended its reach to the wider community by hosting valuable parent workshops. These informative sessions focused on maximising educational iPad use, navigating Google Classroom, and promoting the safe, responsible use of Artificial Intelligence at home. The undisputed highlight of our calendar was our participation in a prestigious competition in collaboration with COBIS. To kick-start the excitement, the Digital leaders took the lead by delivering engaging presentations directly to their classes, explaining the specific details and creative requirements of the challenge.

Message from ECO Coordinators From planting and upcycling projects to whole-school sustainability campaigns and community partnerships, this academic year has been another exciting chapter in Doha College’s sustainability journey. A particular highlight of the year was Qatar Sustainability Week 2025, where pupils across all phases took part in activities designed to deepen their understanding of environmental responsibility. Highlights included a senior prefect-led assembly for EYFS, biodiversity planting, a whole-school book swap and a pre-loved uniform sale. Pupils also showcased their creativity through a sustainability-themed art competition and gallery exhibition featuring over 130 entries, while a daily ‘lights off’ hour encouraged the community to reflect on energy conservation. Sustainability has also become increasingly embedded within daily school life. The installation of more than 120 recycling bins across the campus has made sustainable choices more accessible, while monthly recycling reviews help to strengthen and guide environmental efforts. Senior Prefects have also played an important role in promoting more mindful use of lighting and air conditioning across the school community. Beyond the classroom, pupils have continued to demonstrate compassion, leadership, and creativity through communityfocused initiatives. One particularly meaningful project was the Feed a Friend book donation drive, where donated books supported fundraising efforts at Torba Market, promoting both literacy and social responsibility. Alongside this, pre-loved uniform, toy, and costume sales encouraged circular economy practices and waste reduction. Gardening projects, biodiversity planting, and creative upcycling activities also transformed areas of the campus into vibrant green spaces that support hands-on learning and a deeper connection with nature. Through the enthusiasm and dedication of pupils, staff, parents, and the Sustainability Committee, Doha College continues to nurture environmentally conscious learners committed to creating a more sustainable future.

Earth Day May 2026 Our community came together to mark World Earth Day by celebrating the importance of protecting our planet and recognising the role we all play in creating a more sustainable future. As Qatar’s first school to achieve Eco-School Green Flag status, sustainability is embedded into life at Doha College through pupil-led initiatives, environmental awareness, recycling programmes, conservation projects, and a shared commitment to positive environmental change. The activities highlighted the passion and dedication of our pupils and staff as they explored ways to reduce waste, conserve resources, and make more environmentally conscious choices both in school and beyond. As part of the day, classrooms and shared spaces also took part in a power-saving initiative by switching off lights to raise awareness of energy conservation and the small actions that can make a big difference. Together, we continue to learn, act, and grow towards a greener future.

Junior Duke Award In its inaugural year at Doha College, we are proud to be partnering with the Junior Duke Award, enriching the experience of our Year 5 and 6 pupils through meaningful learning beyond the classroom.
Daniela Sposi JUNIOR DUKE AWARD COORDINATOR
From the outset, the impact has been evident. The programme has given pupils the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones, take on new challenges, and develop essential life skills in a purposeful and engaging way. Across the 2025–2026 academic year, we have seen a noticeable growth in independence, confidence and resilience, with pupils taking genuine ownership of their learning and demonstrating perseverance in the face of challenges. The Junior Duke Award is centred around seven key areas: Adventure, Creative, First Aid, Home, Leadership, Money and Sport. Each challenge is designed to build practical, real-world skills. Whether it is planning an adventure, creating something of their own, learning vital first aid techniques, managing a simple budget, or leading others, pupils have approached each task with enthusiasm and commitment.
Ondrea McSwiggan
In a year that has brought its own challenges, it has been particularly powerful to see how our pupils have responded, showing resilience, adaptability and a real willingness to grow. This is exactly what the Junior Duke Award is designed to nurture.
JUNIOR DUKE AWARD COORDINATOR We are incredibly proud of what our Year 5 and 6 pupils have achieved so far, and excited to see the programme continue to grow.

Sports Presentation Evening June 2026 The revival of the Doha College Sports Presentation Evening provided a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our Primary pupils and recognise their commitment, enthusiasm and sporting success throughout the year. The evening honoured individual performers and teams who demonstrated dedication, resilience, skill and sportsmanship across a wide range of sports. We were delighted to welcome special guests Nada Mohammed Wafa and Philippe Senderos, who helped present awards to our talented young athletes. Sport is a valued part of life beyond the classroom at Doha College and an important element of our extensive co-curricular programme. The pupils recognised during the evening exemplify the confidence, teamwork, determination and positive attitude that make Primary sport such a vibrant part of College life.

House Events January 2026 This year, House competitions and events played a significant role in shaping the overall competition. Houses were awarded points based on their performance in each event, with these totals carefully tracked across the year and combined with the House points earned by individual pupils. This new format brought a real sense of purpose and excitement to every challenge, as every point truly mattered. Across the year, pupils took part in a wide range of events, including the House Sculpture Showdown, House Festival, Spring Festival, Sports Week, Maths Month in January, Ramadan Reading Challenges, Book Worm Quizzes, and the Eid House Photograph Challenge. Each event offered a different opportunity for Houses to shine — whether through creativity, teamwork, resilience or academic strength. There were some standout moments along the way: Eagle soared to victory in Sports Week, Scorpion triumphed at the House Festival, and Trident demonstrated exceptional consistency by winning both Maths Month and the Book Worm Quizzes. With so many opportunities to earn points, the leaderboard remained incredibly close throughout the year. This created genuine anticipation and excitement, with the overall House champions only being decided in the final event—an unforgettable finish to a fantastic year of House competition.
