Kazah Temple No. 149 and Offspring Lodge No. 252 PHA participated in a celebratory parade in Coconut Grove last fall. The Oct. 24, 2020 parade was held in honor of the historic Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church’s 125th Anniversary in ministry.

Macedonia’s quasquicentennial celebration had an additional distinction as the church is the oldest African American church in Miami-Dade County. The parade reflected the community’s rich Bahamian roots, featuring junkanoos dressed in traditional garb.

Parade participants included Kazah’s motorcycle and bicycle units behind Illustrious Potentate J. Hiram Williams and the walking team. They followed a route along the church’s former locations and then down historic Evangelist St. and Charles Ave., highlighting some of the oldest sites in the West Grove.
