In this issue our key contributor is:
Sam Cossio
Samuel started his career in cattle feeding
when he worked at Simplot Feeders in Pasco,
Washington, from 1999 to 2002. While there he
started in the maintenance crew and eventually
experienced work in processing, feeding,
doctoring, shipping and receiving, and as a
pen rider. He went on to become the cattle
supervisor in 2001.
In 2002, he moved on to work for Easterday
Ranches, where he is working currently. Samuel
started as the assistant manager to a 12,000
head feedlot which now has grown to an
80,000 head cattle operation with 3 finishing
yards and 4 backgrounding lots.
Samuel’s experience consists of many years
of learning from people who have made an
impact in his life such as managers, co-workers,
family members, friends and everyone he
encounters.
