WELCOME TO AROUND THE GROUNDS We are all set to begin Term 1 GSV matches NEXT WEEK! Thank you to everyone who signed up & trialled for the teams this Term. The numbers have been fantastic and all the coaches are excited to get the matches underway.

At last count, MLC have 630 students playing across the three Term 1 sports of Softball, Tennis and Volleyball.

We wish you all the best for a fun filled successful term of sport!

IMPORTANT REMINDERS: As we commence Term 1 GSV Sport please note the following important reminders: Uniform - Full MLC Sports Uniform is required for all three sports in Term 1. This consists of MLC sport t-shirt, shorts and hat if playing outdoors.

Attendance - Students are expected to attend both training and matches every week. If you are unable to make it due to illness/injury you must contact your coach as soon as possible. Please make appointments and other events around your GSV commitments.

Bus Travel - If you are travelling by bus to an away venue, you will be signed out of class early to meet your coaches in the Chapel carpark. You must change and meet promptly so the bus can leave on time.

Road Safety at Xavier College - For our Tennis and Softball players that have training before school at Xavier College, please ensure you are arriving on time and safely. Avoid crossing Barkers Road and it is advised that you use the allocated drop off point. When walking back to MLC with the coaches, students are to follow all instructions and act diligently around any traffic.

The safety of our students is always the number one priority.

PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK Each week we aim to give a shout out to a team or individual who deserves to be acknowledged. It can be for a wide variety of reasons; from a match winning serve or showing leadership or encouragement, to achieving your first ace or maybe even learning a set play!

If you have a nomination or see a teammate who deserves to be recognised be sure to tell your coach, or you can email me the details!

Our first Performance of the Week goes to the JSS Students who came in on Thursday 30th January to participate in the trials day at 7am in the morning, while officially still on school holidays! Also a special shout out th the Prefects for supporting the Juniors and providing the pancake breakfast afterwards.

We had close to 350 students participating and having a go across the three sports and two venues!
