Wilderness Club

June 2026

Dear Members,

WELCOME

GENERAL MANAGER MESSAGE

I am writing this after we just opened the golf course for the season on Friday, April 24 Kudos to Director of Agronomy Larry Newlin and Golf Course Superintendent Trey Bohne The off-season work to prepare the golf course for members and guest play is on full display The greens were aerified last month and are starting to pick up speed, but all the other playing surface are in excellent shape for this early season golf The clubhouse grounds and landscaping around the Club and property are showing well with more work to complete for those spring activities like spreading beauty bark, weeding and ensuring irrigation heads are watering when and where we want to apply water th

As members return from warmer climates for the golf season hopefully, they are as excited as the on-site professional staff and year-round residents in terms of construction progress on the new clubhouse Since we broke ground on Sunday November 2 and we are less than 7 months along in the construction timeline it is phenomenal how far along we have come At the beginning of the year, we increased our new member initiation fees from $50,000 up to $65,000 and we anticipate another membership initiation fee increase before or as we conclude construction on the new clubhouse Membership by invitation is best filled with friends and family members in your network so if you have a membership referral pleas send their name and contact information to Membership Director Kim Tribble, kimtribble@thewildernessclubcom nd

This year we have wonderful golf event schedule along with a few returning social events from prior seasons and some exciting new ones Executive Chef Ryan Solien is eager to release our new food and beverage menus and open these areas of the club serving food and beverage: the grill, grab and go, clubhouse bar, snack shack, beverage cart, pool, and beach service along with special events and group catering

Thank you for your continued membership

REAL ESTATE NEWS

NEW DEVELOPMENT

The momentum continues at The Wilderness Club, and we are excited to share a few updates from the Real Estate Team.

We are pleased to announce that we have recently secured two signed contracts in our new development, marking an exciting start to this next phase of growth within the club. Interest in The Wilderness Club remains strong, and we currently have more than 40 prospective buyer tours scheduled in the coming months. It's clear that the lifestyle, amenities, and sense of community that our members enjoy continue to resonate with families looking for a special place to call home

Many of you may have noticed new construction activity around the club. We are excited to introduce two new home models to our collection: The Hawthorn and The Huckleberry These thoughtfully designed homes are currently under construction as spec homes and will provide prospective buyers with an opportunity to experience firsthand the quality, craftsmanship, and lifestyle available at The Wilderness Club.

As always, referrals remain one of the most important drivers of growth for our community Many of our newest members first learned about The Wilderness Club through a friend, family member, or fellow member If you know someone who would appreciate the unique lifestyle we enjoy here from championship golf and outdoor recreation to family adventures and lasting friendships—we would be grateful for the introduction.

Thank you for continuing to be the best ambassadors for The Wilderness Club We look forward to welcoming new families to the community and sharing more exciting real estate updates in the months ahead

PRO SHOPGOLF RULES & TIPS

Fairway Woods

One of the most difficult shots for the average golfer to execute is the fairway wood off the ground. Part of the reason is the way the club is constructed. When you look down on an iron the loft is visible, but the larger head of the fairway wood takes your focus away from the loft, giving you the feeling it will be difficult to get the ball up in the air Any conscious effort to help get the ball airborne will result in the most common Fairway Wood error- the topped shot.

The reason for this is that all the woods look the same, and people are led to believe they should “Sweep” the ball off the ground, similar to the Driver The Fairway woods require a “Steeper” angle of approach on the downswing which can result in a small divot. You can become proficient with fairway woods quickly by implementing the following two items-

1.Position the ball a few inches farther back in the Stance

2Make sure to hit the ball on the way DOWN

3.Take a Divot!

As the bottom sole of the fairway wood is wide, it will not dig into the turf like an iron. I’m sure if you spend a little time on the Practice Tee and implement the items above, you will lose all fear of the fairway woods and add another weapon to your golfing arsenal!

COURSE MAINTENANCE

Autonomous Mowers and the Future of Golf Course Maintenance

Autonomous mowers are becoming an exciting innovation in golf course maintenance, offering a more efficient and sustainable approach to routine mowing. These precision-driven machines can mow within 2 centimeters, helping maintain consistent turf conditions while reducing labor demands, operating costs, and environmental impact. Their quiet, electric operation also supports broader sustainability goals across the industry.

During a recent Superintendent’s Summit with other Escalante properties, we had the opportunity to see two autonomous mowers currently on the market operating firsthand. The demonstration showcased their consistency, efficiency, and ability to integrate into daily course operations with minimal disruption.

Escalante plans to begin testing several of these mowers at other properties to evaluate their long-term performance and value If successful, autonomous mowing technology could eventually become part of the maintenance program at The Wilderness Club as we continue exploring innovative ways to enhance course conditions and operation efficiency

Spring a time of rebirth and renewal

We are so lucky to be in Montana this amazing time of year. Spring and Summer can get kind of combined together, who knows we could still see a smattering of snow. My first year living in Montana, June 11, 2006 I awoke to 18 inches of fresh powder on the ground

Having all the fresh and local produce at our fingertips is fantastic and the added bonus of healthy Being able to live on the products farmed and raised by our neighbors and friends is very special

A great opportunity for enjoying all of the local fare is in a classic GAZPACHO It is basically a salad made in to a refreshing cold soup and the preparation couldn’t be easier

All you will need is a knife, cutting board and a blender

I’ve provided a basic recipe below. The main ingredients are always tomatoes, red bell pepper and cucumber. The sky is the limit and whatever you have or really like don’t be afraid to add. If you like spice throw in a habanero or a jalapeno. Love fresh fennel? ...throw it in!!

It’s great for many occasions. Simple lunch with a grilled cheese sandwich. Have some prawns, you can blacken and sear. Want to impress your friends at the next backyard BBQ? A fresh healthy and ice cold bowl of Gazpacho with Grilled lamb chops and a mint pesto.

Much like everything simplicity and love will go a long way, especially in cooking Cheers and we cant wait to see you in the Grille and out on the Links!!

6 ripe tomatoes, cored and quartered

1 cucumber, peeled and chopped

1 bell pepper, chopped

1 small red onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

3 cups tomato juice

1/4 cup red wine vinegar

1/4 cup olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh herbs (like basil or parsley) for garnish
