Welcome to Week 3 of GSV for Term 2!

Why Does MLC Value Competing in GSV Sports Each Week?

Research shows that participating in sports significantly enhances physical health, promotes teamwork, and instills discipline. Furthermore, it boosts confidence and resilience, offering girls a sense of achievement and belonging.

Engaging in sports also imparts vital life skills, such as leadership and time management, which are crucial for both personal and academic success.

Currently, students across all teams are busy preparing their speeches and electing their Team Captains!

Congratulations to those who have been selected to lead their teams in Term 2!

NETBALL

REMINDERS: TUESDAY 12th MAY - NO JSS NETBALL TRAINING BEFORE SCHOOL Due to the House Athletics Day all before school training has been cancelled on Tuesday 12th May This applies to JSS Teams: 1A, 3B, 6C, 9D (Waverley) and 8C, 12E, 13E & 14E (SNC) It is important that you attend both Training and Matches each week.

We suggest you add these to your diaries and planning (and communicate these to your parents) so you can make appointments and get your homework or study done around your GSV commitments.

Please make every effort to make your team a priority - the last thing we evert want to see happening is a team having to forfeit due to low numbers.

As a reminder these are the current training and match times: JSS Netball Training: Tuesday 7am, Tuesday Lunch OR Wednesday 7am (PEC) Matches: Thursday after school JSS Football Training: Wednesday after school (Glenferrie Oval) Matches: Thursday after school JSS Hockey Training: Monday 6.45am (Hawthorn Hockey) Matches: Thursday after school MS Netball Training: Monday 7am Matches: Wednesday after school MS Hockey Training: Monday 6.45am (Hawthorn Hockey) Matches: Wednesday after school 9-12 Football Training: Tuesday after school, Matches: Friday after school SS Netball Training: Wednesday Lunchtime Matches: Monday after school SS Hockey Training: Monday 6.45am (Hawthorn Hockey) Matches: Monday after school

As last week's varying weather demonstrated, there may be last-minute changes to fixtures, teams, or venues. GSV Sport planning is quite dynamic, so please be proactive by regularly checking your team's communications and announcements. Make sure to keep your parents informed of any changes as well.

If you no longer wish to participate in GSV this term, please email gilcril@mcl.vic.edu.au so that you can be removed from the team lists and make your coach aware.

ROUND 3: The below ‘Fixture Summary’ is correct as of Friday 8/5, and is to be read alongside your Microsoft Teams chats or emails from your coaches to confirm your exact team.
