The Member Course greens renovation was completed during the final days of July. Our focus now shifts to the grow-in process as we work to return the course to the membership as quickly as possible while ensuring the new greens establish properly.
During July, we also completed major tree trimming on approximately 13 holes of the Member Course. The remaining tree work will be completed prior to reopening the course.
In addition, we completed fraze mowing on the remaining tees of the Member Course. This process removed a significant amount of thatch while also helping to level the tee surfaces, resulting in healthier turf and improved playing conditions.
Our second and final aerification of the year is scheduled for August. This aerification will be less aggressive than our first in order to minimize stress on the turf during the summer heat. Even so, these important cultural practices promote healthy turfgrass, improve overall playing conditions throughout the fall, and help the course withstand the winter months ahead.
Aerification Schedule
· Tournament Course: August 10–12
· Member Course: August 25–27
Thank you for your continued patience and support as we complete these projects. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the Member Course soon.
I'll see you on the course!

A New Hope for Arthritis: Scientists May Have Found a Way to Regrow Cartilage
If you've ever dealt with arthritis or know someone who has, you know how frustrating it can be Achy joints, stiffness, and limited mobility can make everyday activities feel like a challenge The good news? New research from Stanford Medicine has uncovered a fascinating link between aging and cartilage loss.
Their focus is a protein called 15-PGDH, which becomes more active as we get older. When researchers blocked this protein in laboratory studies, something remarkable happened: aging cartilage began to regenerate, and damaged joints showed signs of recovery.
The results were especially impressive in older mice Lost cartilage was restored, and joint health improved significantly Researchers also tested the approach on mice with knee injuries similar to the ACL tears that athletes often experience In those cases, the treatment helped prevent arthritis from developing in the first place. This is radically different than most current arthritis therapies, as they focus on reducing symptoms of pain and inflammation. This new approach aims to address the root cause by encouraging the body to rebuild healthy cartilage.
The team also tested human cartilage samples collected during knee replacement surgeries. Those tissues responded by producing new, functional cartilage, suggesting the treatment could potentially work in people as well While more research and clinical trials are needed, the early findings are encouraging
There's still a road ahead before this becomes a treatment available at your doctor's office, but the possibility is exciting. Imagine a future where arthritis patients can repair damaged joints with a medication or injection instead of relying solely on pain management or major surgery.
