Spiritual Care Chaplain Program Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary By Sr. Chaplain Ryan Michael Creelman, Spiritual Director In May of 2015, God placed it on my heart to create a Professional Spiritual Care Treatment & Supportive Services Program – an idea which became the Spiritual Care Chaplain Program (SCCP). We could not do this without our spiritual & faith leaders partnered in care. WestCare SCCP has 25 Chaplains & 15 Spiritual Leaders volunteering in weekly operations in WestCare NV & FL. We celebrate 10 years of providing the most comprehensive spiritual care substance use disorder and behavioral health treatment and support services available.
We thank WestCare NV & FL management for seeing the vision and incorporating The SCCP to most authentically, Uplift the Human Spirit with professional spiritual care by board certified & clinically trained Chaplains! The WestCare SCCP is an interfaith spiritual care provider and come beside our beloved persons in care to put into practice their sacred values, practices, and traditions for lasting behavioral change, personal integrity to live in accordance with one's chosen beliefs. We look forward to the next 10 years – and beyond!

Springing Forward with Hope and Community Welcome to the May issue of the WestCare Nevada Loop Newsletter! This month, our hearts overflow with gratitude and celebration as we honor a decade of spiritual care, embrace inspiring visits and events, and remember the heroism of our warriors. Join us in celebrating the 10th anniversary of our Spiritual Care Chaplaincy Program. A program that has assisted our clients in finding or returning to their faith of choice. This portion of our programming is strictly on a voluntary basis, however, for those who have chosen to participate, the program has been a guiding light toward affirming our mission to Uplift the Human Spirit while caring for and treating the whole person – mind, body, and soul. In a heartwarming tribute to Mother’s Day, we were honored by a visit from retired NFL tight end Darren Waller. Alongside the Darren Waller Foundation, Darren spent the day at our Women and Children’s campus gifting every client, child, and employee present with a signed Las Vegas Raider jersey; demonstrating a beautiful symbol of unity, strength, and of course, Raider pride. The following day, some of our own attended the Darren Waller Foundation’s 6th Annual Beyond the Wall fundraiser at the M Resort Spa Casino, creating additional opportunities for partnership and for the community to come together to support recovery efforts.

WestCare Nevada also welcomed a cherished connection to our roots: the daughter, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter of WestCare Nevada’s first Board Chair, Robert “Bob” McNutt. This is the man who was also responsible for hiring our President, Mr. Dick Steinberg. Their visit was a touching celebration of legacy, leadership, and the values that continue to shape our organization. Finally, our community came together to honor our brave women warriors at the Women and Children’s Campus Memorial Day festivities. It was a powerful day of remembrance, celebration, and camaraderie as we paid tribute to their dedication and service. Thank you for being part of our journey and for supporting WestCare Nevada. As always, we are humbled by the strength, spirit, and shared hope within our entire community. Here’s to continued connection, compassion, and care. Thank you for walking this journey with us.
