WELCOME TO AROUND THE GROUNDS Round 1 of GSV fixtures is always a BIG one!

Congratulations to everyone that competed this week and proudly represented MLC! A special mention to the many girls trying a new sport for the first time.

With so many teams and sports taking place this term is is exciting to see so many girls involved! I have just counted, and MLC have over 570 girls listed for weekly sport! That is on top of all those training hard for the upcoming GSV Athletics Team!

IMPORTANT REMINDERS: A few important reminders to all GSV participants: UNIFORM As you are representing MLC in all interschool sports it is expected that you are in full and correct uniform. This includes both the playing uniform (MLC sports top) and your warm outerwear to travel to and from matches in (MLC Sports Uniform). Coaches will be on the lookout of any non-uniform items in the following weeks.

EQUIPMENT MLC will supply students with all required equipment to borrow if they do not have their own, e.g. Shin Guards and Racquets. However, it is very important that these are returned the same day. These will be needed for all teams over the week, so they are not to be kept in your own bags or taken home.

COMMITMENT Now that teams have been finalised your coaches and teammates are relying on you to turn up play each week. If you pull out there is a chance that you leave your team short, and the team may need to forfeit. Please make every effort to get to all matches and training sessions.

COMMUNICATION We do understand that at times you may be unwell or injured but it is expected that you communicate any absences as soon as you can. You should contact your coach directly to give them as much notice as possible.

MATCH DAY PROCEDURES - LEAVING CLASS For all students who are travelling to AWAY matches you are permitted to leave class at 2.50pm. You will be attendance tracked. You are then to meet your coaches promptly at the Chapel car park to be ticked off and on the bus by 3pm. There may be times when teams are travelling a long distance to compete, this meeting time may be earlier. This will be clearly communicated in Teams chat groups.

If you are playing HOME you do not leave class early. At the end of Period 6 you make your way to the PEC to meet your coaches and be ticked off. There will then be warm up time while we await the other school to arrive.

We understand that your online timetable now shows your GSV commitments, however this is for the attendance tracking purposes. You will be told your teams exact meeting time weekly by your coach, or you can check below in the fixture summary if you are playing home or away each week.

Please follow these expectations. Both teachers and coaches are going to be monitoring this closely.
