Soon after Mount St. Helens erupted, fireweed plants grew back in the area.
The eruption created open spaces, and fireweed flowers bloomed in the sunlight. Pollinators moved pollen from flower to flower.
Soon, fireweed seeds traveled on bits of fluff.
