The Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz is a national campaign sponsored by the National Recreation and Park Association and The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation. This September, parks throughout the country will be participating in a fun challenge to see how many pollinator species can be documented throughout the month. It is easy for you to participate, too! Simply join our project page, make observations on your own, and upload using the iNaturalist app. With the iNaturalist app, the online community will help identify the species of plant, animal or insect you've observed. By reviewing other observations, you can help make our data "research grade!"
This information will help us understand our local biodiversity and how we can better protect the plants, pollinators and other important wildlife in our community.
How to participate:
• Download the iNaturalist app and create your own individual profile.
• Join the city of Las Vegas Parks for Pollinators 2024: BioBlitz project page on iNaturalist. https://www.inaturalist.org/ projects/parks-for-pollinators-2024-city-of-lasvegas-parks-recreation-cultural-affairs
• Visit Floyd Lamb Park Sept. 14, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and check in at our Base Camp at the Hay Barn and Lakeside Courtyard Gazebo.
• Observe and take photos of the pollinators, plants and other wildlife you find the entire month of September.
• Upload your observations to the city of Las Vegas project page in iNaturalist.
• Review the observations of others on our project page to make them “research grade.” Bunnies Matter Fall Festival
