The basketball team made it to State the last few years. This year was different. At the beginning of the year, Omarion stated that this year they would win State. The team went undefeated. They did not loose one game. In addition, this team has been together now for 3 years and that made a difference in their game play. Also, they won state!
This championship is dedicated to the David W. Carter High School and to the Dallas ISD! Great work team, staff, and students.

If you know anything about David W. Carter Basketball, you are aware of the “Brotherhood”. The Brotherhood teaches respect, discipline, team work, integrity, and grit. The team states that this year they made a commitment to keep their grades up and to ensure that before J. Hyder graduated he would earn a championship. Together, they met that goal.
Do not ever underestimate your opponent and stay focused and remember team work makes the dream work.
