This 2016 adaptation of Leo Tolstoy’s classic novel features Paul Dano (Pierre), Lily James (Natasha), and James Norton (Andrei). Three young members of St. Petersburg’s elite find themselves frustrated with the superficiality of their lives and seek purpose and love as Napoleon’s army approaches Russia’s borders.

Detective Inspector Rachita Ray (Parminder Nagra) works in the homicide division on sensitive, high-profile cases while also fighting the prejudices facing her as a British South Asian woman. This season leads to a deep dive into organized crime and discoveries about people close to her.
