As is now the case for many of our cohort, I have retired from my paid working career as a teacher. Since my retirement, I have been kept very busy doing numerous 'unpaid' activities. My favourite job is minding any of our gorgeous grandchildren. We are blessed with 10 of them, aged from 1 year old to 11 years old. Best job in the world! My Mum is still alive, and so some time each week is spent with her. We particularly enjoy going to a Singing Circle at our local Community House each Thursday.
I try to fit in two games of golf each week and a game of tennis on Thursday night. I am Secretary of the Rosebud Tennis Club, so that keeps by brain ticking along. I deliver Meals On Wheels once a week and do voluntary tutoring to primary aged students through the Dromana Lions Club.
Trevor and I do manage to escape from all of these activities, every now and then, in our caravan travelling to Tathra, on the South coast of NSW, each March. An overseas trip is on the cards this year too. See you all in 10 years, God willing!

I’ve been retired for quite a few years now and live in Queenscliff on the Bellarine Peninsula. The change of pace and the literal sea change has been one of the best decisions of my life. My husband, Patrick and I renovated an old boarding house into our dream home. It is large enough to have our three girls plus partners, and future grandchildren, a true generational home. My Queenscliff community has been most welcoming and made the transition to coastal living easy. This next chapter of life is about family, community and lifestyle and is so exciting.

I dived into medical research after my BScHons(Melb) working first at Melbourne University on chlamydia infections and then La Trobe University on multiple sclerosis (MS). Unpacking the unknown was stimulating and a long road at the same time. Part of the work on MS was undertaken in Canada resulting in a breakthrough paper in Science (Carnegie and Dowse) and where I met my husband John, a home-grown Rocky mountain man... maybe two breakthroughs.
My Professor Carnegie asked me to move to Western Australian to set up the biotechnology labs at Murdoch University just as John completed his geology degree - it worked out well for us. Three kids followed with an MBA thrown into the blur of kids and full-time++ work. After 20 years at Murdoch, many as School Manager in Biological Science, it was time to try something new – why not business. The expertise developed in evidence-based scientific
reporting translated well to the Curtin University business school looking to step up the international rankings. It took seven years of meaningful valued added transformational change to embed the level of quality to achieve two international accreditations.
We trekked in Canada, Nepal, Patagonia and Tasmania, travelling extensively elsewhere with our three kids. They are true Aussie/Canuck hybrids; scuba, skiing, ice skating, ice hockey…in Perth! I still ski and road bike everywhere. .surprising considering I was woeful at school sports. It’s been a great journey so far with more to come with our first grandchild due this year.

Hello everyone. I currently live in Melbourne and have three children Mikaela 28, Rhea 27, Rhett 25. Rhett the youngest is the boy and definitely the easiest!!! I have a business which allows me to travel a lot selling recycle designer clothes, and accessories. I love travel, so this is a bonus to be able to do both work and relaxation. I also design resort wear, and still work in the fashion and entertainment industry. Where did 50 years go!!! Looking forward to seeing the photos from the reunion
Christine Cooke (Evans) cscooke10@gmail.com
I am still happily married after 40 years, and still living in Melbourne. We have two sons and four beautiful grandchildren. I am working part time as a Microbiologist (Technical Advisor to labs within Victoria and interstate). I love travelling with my husband and friends. So much of Australia and the rest of the world to explore!

I was sorry not to be able to attend the 50 year reunion as we live in Sydney. I am thankful to MLC for teaching me to be a Christian lady. My husband and I attend Church weekly and teach Sunday School. Our sons have given us two beautiful grandchildren who we love spending time with. I also do casual teaching, K-Year 6 and this fulfils me. My husband and I travel overseas each year, and we take our caravan on regular jaunts around NSW. Hoping you all enjoy catching up, love Di Bunston.

It was great sharing memories of MLC 1970 - 1973 at the reunion!
I left MLC at the end of Form III as my family relocated to Canberra but have remained firm friends with Louisa Noordenne.
After school I completed my MBBS at the University of Adelaide and specialised in psychiatry, working as a clinician across Australia and a director of an area service in Western Australia before returning to the ACT to take up a policy role (just before COVID!). It was a privilege to be elected the President of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (2023 – 2025).
Peter and I have been married for 45 years and have two lovely daughters but alas no grandchildren as yet. We are taking the opportunity to travel while still fit and relatively untied as we transition to full retirement. I hope to spend more time making lace and finally get back to some of my other hobbies!

After leaving MLC I did a Bachelor of Science with Honours at Monash then worked for a couple of years in the Pharmacology Department at the Austin Hospital as a research assistant. After my marriage to James Ross in 1984 I did a Dip Ed. Thereafter, we did six two-year postings around Australia and the US, care of the Airforce.
In 2000, with two daughters in tow, we landed in Canberra and have been here ever since. Having taught Secondary Maths and Science for five years whilst we were moving around, I retrained as a Primary teacher and taught in various schools in Canberra for the next 16 years. My interest was in early primary education and I enjoyed the challenge and creativity required to teach across all curriculum areas.
I retired at the end of 2017 and have done quite a bit of travel since then, most recently spending six months in the UK and travelling to Antarctica, Sri Lanka and Costa Rica. At home we do lots of walking, some volunteering with Bush Heritage and delight in spending time with our daughters, their partners and our two year old granddaughter

Off to Uni after MLC - Commerce degree, then further study to join the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Marriage and a move to Port Moresby for nearly three years, accountant and engineer respectively. A return to Melbourne for a short while then off to a small country NSW town for nearly twenty years - three girls and two businesses later we returned to Geelong. Melbourne was too cramped and busy. Now enjoying retirement and travel. A big fan of single sex education having seen three girls through a variety of educational experiences and grateful for the “base” that MLC (and my family) provided.

I am married to Malcolm, a cardiologist, and we live in Newcastle, NSW. We have two adult sons, one of whom is married and living in Newcastle, and one living in Germany and working as an orchestral double bass player. I am a psychiatrist in private practice, and am also a deacon at a Presbyterian church, where I'm responsible for music and pastoral care. I'm currently a member of the Scots College Council in Sydney, and really enjoy being involved in governance and school life again after many years.

Thanks Mrs Binns for igniting my love of Biology, and suggesting the new Medical Laboratory Science Degree at RMIT which set the course of my career. Also thanks to Mrs Feutil, Mr Lim and Mr Herbert for my science education, (yes, I did biol, chem and physics).
My first job was the highly controversial realm of assisted reproductive medicine at Prince Henry's Hospital in the late 70's, then I went on to Monash Department of Anatomy (this was before AIDs and IVF). After IVF was "born" our team pioneered a world first.
Three children and over 10 years out of the work force, I then worked in a pharmaceutical research company. The children hit late primary school and I looked for a school lab tech job and decided my ideal would be at MLC in the biology department where it all began. In 2000 I started at MLC, teaching for Year 9, then moved into chemistry for 10 years, and have now been in biology for 13 years.
I also currently am the senior school lab coordinator and am still loving my work. We have a fabulous tech team and teachers and are raising up the next generation of women in science.
Life is full and busy, working and spending time with family including nine grandkids.

I missed the last reunion as we were living in Thailand at the time. My husband, Michael, was working over there for 2 1/2 years. We had a great time living the ex-pat life, but it was a strange time during COVID lockdowns. Our daughter Prue studied Architecture after leaving MLC in 2014 and is currently working and living in Amsterdam. Looking forward to catching up with everyone at the reunion this year. 50 years!!! How did that happen?

It will be wonderful to meet fellow students again at our 50th reunion. It's incredible to think that we have all lived as adults for almost half a century! I still feel 18 years old ;) I have done a lot of travelling and living after completing my BA at Uni Melbourne majoring in English and Linguistics. I lived in England for two years and Switzerland for one year and then settled in Sydney where I worked as a teacher of English and ESL for a decade.
After having children and bringing them up in Canberra with their father, I did a lot of volunteer work on renewable energy and environmental concerns. I returned to teaching for a short stint and then commenced a Master of Law in 2022 which I completed at the end of 2024. In 2025 I did the first third of a Graduate Diploma of Divinity at the Trinity College Theological School. This year I will commence a Juris Doctor degree at the University of New South Wales and intend to finish both qualifications in the next couple of years. My main residence is in the beautiful Eurobodalla, rural NSW.

Since MLC, and after a TOP year at Box Hill, an arts apprenticeship at All Graphic Industries, and photography studies at PSC, I became a freelance artist, writer, and photographer with publishers in Melbourne. I specialised in recording the built and natural environment and was a member of the National Trust Photographic Committee. In the early 1980s, I lived on farms and instigated the bushfire safety books written by my mother, Joan Webster OAM. I made my home in Castlemaine and in 1986, my Characters of Castlemaine photographic exhibition received national acclaim.
In the late 80s, I travelled through Asia and Europe, living in London where my first book, Fireplaces for a Beautiful Home was published. During the 90s, I travelled through the Americas, living and working in London, New York, France and Greece.
In 1998 I gave birth to my daughter, Maya, who became a singer-songwriter. I live in Harcourt, devoted to gardening and being an activist for animal and human rights. I have edited and published several books for others with my Sevenpens Publishing services. Through the years, I have had many exhibitions and my work is published in various journals, anthologies, and nonfiction books. I have received awards and commendations for my poetry and short stories. My poetry collections are When Embers Dance, and Love & Death in Castlemaine. I am currently writing The History of Castlemaine Arts (1960-90), the Seppings Family History blog, and I’ve completed my Memoir of a Poet: New York 1990s.

Half a century on (what?) since MLC 1976 to be marked ...
Having left behind working life of legal secretarial, general office work and proofreading for some time, have now changed gears into a relaxed retirement with husband Simon, with whom 50 years together is also being celebrated this year. Life's adventures started early there, and continue on as we enjoy times living locally here in Melbourne and also regular visits to Mornington Peninsula and central country Victoria.
Children Rachel and Marcus together with their partners have provided us with four great wedding events in recent times - respective COVID delays and 'away' locations gave us double the celebrations, and with recently becoming new grandparents twice over within a month, family life is happily full and moving along for us all.
A 2024 trip further afield gave an opportunity for me to visit with and enjoy the great hospitality of co-1976er - Ingrid Fischer - she made sure that we packed a lot into our days together there in Germany, including just a bit! of MLC memories along the way.

After 14 years at MLC, I deferred University to study Nursing at Royal Melbourne with two other MLC students. I loved the course so much that I stayed on at the RMH for four years. When our first child was two years old I moved into Occupational Health and Safety at Cadbury where I stayed for 11 years, studying further and having two more children.
I then moved to Pacific Brands and worked initially in Manufacturing, then Warehousing and Retail looking after safety, injuries and Mental health of employees for the next 26 years.
We love travelling and enjoy Australian trips and overseas holidays - made a little easier since retiring 18 months ago. I continue playing tennis and am enjoying spending more time with extended family at our Torquay beach house.

I graduated as a Veterinarian in 1982. After working for a number of Veterinary Surgeries I purchased a small Veterinary practice in 1987, (Canterbury Veterinary Clinic) with my exhusband who was also a Veterinarian. While working in the business, I also worked for the Baker Heart Institute as an Animal Welfare Officer for nine years and at Box Hill TAFE for 14 years.
As part of my divorce in 2007 I became the sole owner of the business and spent my time working full time in the business. In 2014 after my marriage to my current husband, we purchased new larger premises and grew the business from two Veterinarians in 2014 to eight Veterinarians (and 10 nurses) in 2024 when we sold the business.
My husband and I now live over 50% of our time in Cowes, (when in Melbourne at our home in Mitcham). I work approximately a day a week as a locum Veterinarian for a Veterinary Group mainly at their Newhaven location (Phillip Island). I have two children, both are married with my daughter working in Customer Service as well as pursuing her acting passion and my son a registered Clinical Psychologist. I have one grandson so far … as well as three dogs, six chickens and two guinea pigs.
Mandy Gregory (Wilson) tessnici@hotmail.com
After leaving MLC, I worked as a receptionist before starting my nursing at Prince Henry’s Hospital. I loved nursing from the start, working locally and overseas. I specialized in neurosurgical nursing and intensive care where I later became nurse manager. I have now been at Alfred Hospital for almost 40 years mainly in leadership roles. I was seconded to DHHS and Justice during COVID and ended up traveling throughout Victoria setting up regional accommodation for close contacts of positive people.
I married Paul who was more my best friend so it didn’t end up working out. Joe came into my life in 2007 and we married in 2014. I couldn’t have children of my own. Joe and I fostered over 30 children with some really good outcomes for the long term children in our care.
I have been on long service leave for two years seeing what it will be like to retire. We bought a second-hand caravan and have started to travel. Seeing small country towns throughout Australia has been a joy and really helped my geography! Out of the blue I auditioned for a local play and got my first small role. It was called Witches and we had so much fun. I am now doing drama classes and hoping to volunteer back stage. Joe and I have started volunteering at a community group to help vulnerable people. I have also taken an interest in our family tree and about to meet a distant cousin who lives can you believe it, in the next suburb.
I started meditating 13 years ago after being diagnosed with heart disease. I meditate for 1-2 hours daily. I also went vegetarian and my heart disease got worse so I cut out dairy and eggs and have greatly improved my health. I now eat a Whole Foods plants diet and feel great.
My mum died last year aged 91 and dad is living at home about to turn 93 this year. He loves doing projects with Joe in the Man-Cave so we see him most days.
I keep in touch with a small group from MLC. We catch up every 2-3 months and have done for 40 years. It was great to see everyone at the reunion.

I only attended MLC Kew for 2 years, starting in 5th class primary, leaving half way through the first year of high school. A shy child, I remember fondly meeting some lovely friendly girls - Isobel Attwood, Allison Bertuch, Olwyn McLeod & Patrice Carlson come to mind. I am now retired on the mid north coast NSW where we have lived for 33 years, after selling my real estate business.

I did my nursing training at the Alfred and went on to have a long career in emergency nursing, I also commenced and ran a program caring for and treating people affected by hepatitis C and B , which led to a bit of work within the HIV area
With my husband and children we have spent our working life around Australia, 11 years in the Kimberley, some time in rural South Australia, plus time in Perth and Adelaide. Now retired we live in the northern beaches area of Sydney, near our children and grandchildren.

I worked as a Registered Nurse in the Aged Care industry for about 25 years, including as a Director of Nursing for over a decade. In my forties I returned to study and became a Podiatrist. I have almost retired from working as a Podiatrist for the last twenty years. We moved into a Lifestyle Village a little over a year ago and enjoy the amenities there, especially the heated swimming pool.
I am still involved in singing and on the Board of our local Community Theatre Company. Last year I performed in The Pirate Queen (probably my last stage show) at Frankston Arts Centre as "an old lady" (lol) and had to begin singing unaccompanied in Irish Gaelic, bringing back memories of Senior Madrigals at school which my sister Jeanette and I were in at different times. She passed away from cancer seven years ago, so I feel I have been continuing the music and singing for both of us. I have travelled overseas in choirs performing Verdi's Requiem in Italy (with Pavarotti !!), and a concert series of Street Requiem with Jonathan Welch in the United Kingdom more recently.
Meredith Banhidi (Tansley) mbanhidi@hotmail.com
I briefly relocated to Gold Coast in 2012 and then made the big move to Bass Coast (Cape Paterson) and Phillip Island where I worked at the Wonthaggi Coal Mine and Churchill Island in Tourism for 10 years.
Another relocation after that to Bacchus Marsh (Maddingley) for four years. During this time, I have had three very charming and cute grandsons. A good deal of time has been spent lovingly minding grandchildren and helping with my aged parents. My father is now a great age of 96 and has a better memory than me! Finally, after 14 years I have moved to my own abode in Templestowe to live the final chapter of my life - unless of course anything interesting appears on the horizon! I have moved a total of 15 times - so I hope to stay put!

After finishing school and a gap year, I was commissioned as an officer in the Australian Army for eight years, serving in the Signals Corps then Intelligence Corps. I then spent nearly 10 years at Monash Uni, Clayton, studying for my qualifications to become a registered psychologist. During that time, I also married, had a baby, divorced and became a sole parent to Stephanie. After 25 years practising as a psychologist, I retired at age 64.
On retirement, I moved to Adelaide for three years to help my daughter and son-in-law with my two young grandchildren, Toby and Josefien. My daughter took up a position at a university in The Netherlands in 2025 and the family moved there. I returned to Victoria to live in November. No idea as yet what comes next.

50 years in 250 words - no challenge there…
I completed undergraduate and postgraduate training in physiotherapy in the 1980s and was mostly self-employed throughout my physio career. In the early 2000s, I opted for a career change, and in 2006 finished a degree in primary teaching, working for 15 years as a teacher in Sydney.
On a personal note, I married in 1991, had two wonderful daughters (now 31 and 32), moved to Sydney in 1996, divorced in 2014, and now happily single. My daughters are well-settled in different parts of Sydney. Roslyn married her long-time partner last year, and Leah and her partner just purchased a home together. Both girls studied engineering, but neither is working in their fields. It's gratifying to watch them make their way in the world and benefit from their good choices and hard work!
About 25 years ago, I revisited my love of singing and joined a large women's a cappella chorus as well as a quartet. Since retirement, I have added a mixed chorus and mixed quartet, so my four ensembles pretty much take care of my leisure time. I also love to travel, especially to developing countries, and have just purchased a camper trailer to explore more of our amazing land. I'm so grateful to have a fulfilling life and financial security and look forward to making the most of my retirement years!
Robyn Weller (Holder) robynweller2@gmail.com
In the last five years, my life has involved travel mainly overseas, golf, three time per week walking group, book and film clubs and spending three day weekends at our beach house. We spent the last 12 months renovating our beach house in readiness for my husband’s retirement. We plan to spend longer times at the beach, more travel and time with family and friends in the future.

After three years there I married Bill in 1979 and moved to Sale as head of the word processing department in the legal firm of Moir White & O’Connor leaving in 1983 to have my first child then three more children in the next few years.
Re-entered the work force as Legal Assistant to one of the partners of the same firm, now called Sullivan Braham Pty Ltd and remained for 20 years. I retired in 2014 and my husband also retired two years later. We built our retirement home on 97 acres of land, both bush and cleared and watch the native wildlife out our windows. We keep busy with 12 grandchildren and do some travelling both overseas and interstate.

I left school and went overseas for a couple of months coming home to a solicitor's clerk job. The next year I did a business course at Holmes. I subsequently worked as a PA, bookkeeper, various positions in that sphere.
After having two children, I began drafting with my then husband, later going back to study at Box Hill TAFE where I completed an AssDip (Building Construction), started my own building company including clients and my own developments. After my divorce in 2008, I worked as remedial massage therapist (Cert3&4), disability advocate and support worker (Diplomadisability).
I currently live in Kilsyth enjoying my horse, walks when I am able, volunteering, close proximity holidays and catching up with friends etc. My two children are both autistic (James has an intellectual disability). I was diagnosed in 1995 - ASD RSD ADHD+. It was great to catch up with you all last Saturday.

Received a Diploma of Fashion Design, employed as fashion designer and patternmaker for nine years, four of those with Prue Acton. Two years at David Jones as buyer in Australian Fashion Design department, haberdashery and fabric department. Ran my own business called PETITE's with boutiques in Armadale, Camberwell and Hampton, for those of us 5' 4" and under.
In 1985 married Phillip who was in building administration. We have two children Kira (30 years) who studied Fine Arts and is a Bronze Sculpture Artist and Adrian (25 years) who is a Physiotherapist.
While studying Fashion Design, I helped theatre companies with costuming and they encouraged me to get up on stage. Once our children were a little more independent, I went back to acting, studying at National Theatre, Howard Fine Studios, 16th Street and Brave Studios. I have enjoyed being in many plays, short and feature films. Also, you will see my face pop up occasionally in a TV commercial.

My husband John and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary in December. We enjoy living close to both of our daughters and being grandparents to two beautiful granddaughters. I've been a Migrant English teacher at Swinburne University of Technology (only doing emergency teaching for the last couple of years). I'm in the last stages of a PhD in education and looking forward to some travel when I finally finish. I enjoy my daily walks and I'm in a book club with friends who have also been teachers at Swinburne. I'm grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this 50-year reunion at MLC.

In early 2024 I retired after 21 years as a full-time academic in Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Sydney and moved from the Blue Mountains back to Victoria where I've been living in the small country town of Yarck.
Since retiring I've continued as an Honorary Associate researching, supervising and giving the occasional guest lecture or presentation about psychosocial healing, transformative justice and peacebuilding. I also volunteer with Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) facilitating community workshops about conflict transformation, and with my local U3A teaching a course on First Nations: Australia.
In what remains of my spare time I enjoy bushwalking and birdwatching, travel and wildlife photography, singing in choirs and West African drumming and dancing. I’ve done a lot of overseas travel for my academic research primarily in sub-Saharan Africa and am now enjoying more holiday travel including recent trips to the UK, South America, Antarctica and – most recently – to the Subantarctic Islands of New Zealand and Australia with my new partner, Steve. When we’re not photographing penguins on Macquarie Island and marvelling at megaherbs on Campbell Island, we can be found sitting on the deck at Steve’s bush property in the King Valley enjoying a drink while watching the birds and the sunset …
