Welcome to March on RMPBS! This month brings an exciting lineup of must-see music specials, including Barbra Streisand: Timeless Live, More Deconstructing the Beatles, Barry Manilow: Live by Request , plus several Live on KUVO! events. Fan-favorite drama Call the Midwife returns with a brand-new season, alongside two highly anticipated series premieres: The Forsytes and The Count of Monte Cristo . Donât miss Nature Parenthood: The Greatest Adventure and Diane Keaton: Star of the Silver Screen , a documentary highlighting and honoring the late actress. Youâll also find new episodes of American Masters, Independent Lens, and Great Performances throughout the month. Follow the team navigating the Womenâs Liberation movement, modernization, and mandatory NHS roles. The season begins with senior staff in Hong Kong, leaving younger midwives to handle challenging cases in Poplar, including tuberculosis, slavery, and premature births.

An epic drama following three generations of a wealthy, materialistic English family from Victorian to Edwardian times, focusing on themes of love, property, betrayal, and societal change, particularly through the troubled marriage of the possessive solicitor Soames Forsyte and the beautiful, artistic Irene, whose forbidden love with architect Philip Bosinney and later with Soamesâs cousin Jolyon causes family upheaval and tragedy, challenging their rigid values.

Dorothy Horrell is a trailblazer with a history in education and philanthropy, serving as President of Red Rocks Community College before becoming the first female President of Community Colleges of Colorado. She served as President of Bonfils-Stanton Foundation, Chair of the Board of Trustees of Colorado State University and Chancellor of CU Denver.

Dottie Lamm, a former First Lady of Colorado, is a legendary leader in the womenâs movement and the civil rights struggle, an activist for womenâs health issues, and a staunch supporter of early education and childcare. She is a well-known feminist, educator, author, columnist and speaker and a co-founder and first President of the Womenâs Foundation of Colorado.
40 YEARS OF WRITING WOMEN INTO HISTORY (WHM)

The Colorado Womenâs Hall of Fame was founded by businesswoman M.L. Hanson, who realized womenâs achievements need to be recognized and honored. To date, 205 extraordinary women have been honored: women from mountains and plains, from cities to small towns to rural areas, from all four corners of the state. They represent diverse races, cultures, religions, career fields, education, & politics.

JazzTimes calls Sasha Berliner a âyoung mallet master.â The LA-based vibraphonist/composer is a DownBeat Critics Poll #1 Rising Star, an NPR Jazz Night in America 2024 Youngbloods pick, and has shared the stage with Christian McBride, Tyshawn Sorey, and CĂ©cile McLorin Salvant, among others. She leads her own touring quintet and is on faculty at UC Irvine.

The brightest high school minds travel from all corners of Colorado to compete against each other on all things science. Categories include biology, astronomy, paleontology and meteorology. After a full day of classroom competition, three finalists compete for the Championship and $500 scholarships for each winning team member.
NATIVE STORIES OF LIFE AND DIALYSIS

Chronic kidney disease disproportionately affects Indigenous communities, where access to care (including dialysis) is often limited by geography and resources. Healing in Our Own Way follows four patients on the Navajo and Hopi reservations, exploring how home dialysis and culturally informed care are expanding options in rural healthcare.

Lena Archuleta has served the Hispanic community in Colorado as teacher, school librarian, administrator, and community volunteer. In 1976, she became the first Hispanic female principal in the Denver Public Schools. Archuleta is widely known as the Latina Matriarch of the Denver Community and was the first Latina to be inducted into the Colorado Womenâs Hall of Fame.
JOAN BIRKLAND (WHM)

Growing up prior to Title IV, Joan played and competed in a wide variety of sports: tennis, golf, basketball, bowling, skiing and others. She was a co-creator of the Sportswomen of Colorado--the first, and still only, community-based organization in the US to recognize and honor girls and women for their sports endeavors.

Grammy-nominated vocalist, Jazzmeia Horn graduated from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, which was attended by other great artists such as Roy Hargrove, Norah Jones, and Erykah Badu. Ms. Horn won the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, the Thelonious Monk Institute International Jazz Competition, and is the recipient of an NAACP Image Award.

Lydia Peña is well known as an educator, author, artist, art historian, community leader, and fundraiser. After graduation from Loretto Heights College, she entered the Sisters of Loretto where she made her vows and began her life of service that has focused on education. She was passionate about raising funds for the oppressed and underserved in Colorado and abroad.

After Denver won the Olympic bid in 1970, what followed was two years of excitement, confusion, deceit and protest, culminating in a statewide referendum where Colorado voters essentially rejected the 1976 Winter Olympics.

Season 1 centers on the struggle to secure the Crawley familyâs estate after the Titanic disaster kills the male heirs, introducing distant cousin Matthew Crawley as the new heir, while also exploring Lady Maryâs complex love life, including scandal with a Turkish diplomat and her eventual engagement to Matthew amidst World War I, alongside the intertwined lives and secrets of the aristocratic family and their servants, concluding as the Great War begins.

Timeless: Live in Concert is a live album released by Barbra Streisand on September 19, 2000. It was her fifth live album and was released on Columbia Records. The album was issued a week before what were said to be her final concerts in September 2000 and would reach platinum certification.

Narrated by Sir David Attenborough, the series explores the high-stakes, dangerous journey of animal rearing. It highlights diverse species, including lionesses and burrowing owls, as they protect, teach, and nurture their young to ensure the future of their species.

Filmed in September 2025 at Italyâs Arena di Verona, PAVAROTTI 90: The Man Who Moved the World honors what would have been the 90th birthday of legendary tenor Luciano Pavarotti. Featuring stars like Andrea Bocelli, JosĂ© Carreras, Il Volo, and HAUSER, the tribute celebrates both his operatic and pop legacy through music, memories, and moving performances.

Women were the backbone of the 1950s/60s Civil Rights Movement, organizing, strategizing, and leading efforts at great personal risk, often overshadowed by male counterparts. Key figures like Ella Baker, Fannie Lou Hamer, Diane Nash, and Septima Clark were vital in voting rights and desegregation, enduring violence and discrimination to fight for equality.

âThe Mustangs: Americaâs Wild Horsesâ is a feature documentary that is executive produced by Robert Redford, Patti Scialfa Springsteen and Jessica Springsteen. The film features songs by Bruce Springsteen, Emmylou Harris and Willie Nelson and an original song written by Diane Warren and performed by Blanco Brown.
