IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
GSV Communication - All sports will now have a Microsoft Teams group set up for your teams specific information to be shared. Please ensure you are regularly checking this chat to stay up to date with training and match day information You can have direct communication with your coach in here if you have any questions. This weekly newsletter will also have general information for the week to come.
Teams and Fixtures- Each week due to the nature of GSV and the fixturing there may be Forfeits, Byes, MLC vs MLC matches and changes made to teams and playing times If you have questions check in with your coach. We want as many of you
Attendance - Another reminder that students are expected to attend both training and matches every week. If you are unable to make it due to illness/injury you must contact your coach as soon as possible Please make appointments and other events around your GSV commitments. It is also important that you ensure you check in with your coach to get your name marked off each session Parents will be emailed of unexplained absences
Uniform - It is an expectation that all MLC students are in fill sports uniform for GSV. This consists of the MLC sport t-shirt, shorts and hat if playing outdoors. Students are to change into full academic uniform after training sessions and on match days they are permitted to change into their sports uniform at lunchtime in preparation for the afternoon matches
Bus Travel - If you are travelling by bus to an away venue, you will be signed out of class early to meet your coaches in the Chapel carpark. You must meet promptly so the bus can leave on time. If you are late, we cannot wait past 3pm as we are required to arrive on time for away matches Please communicate with your coach via teams message if you cannot play (with a valid reason) so they are not waiting around for you. If you are playing HOME at MLC you will not need to leave class early.
MLC GSV NEWS
On Thursday some of our MLC Year 12 leaders attended the annual GSV Sports Leaders Breakfast at Fintona Girls School.
They heard inspiring stories and insights from 4 amazing speakers and GSV alumni: Abbie McKay, Sarah Poustie, Kaitlin Barr and Jess Burger.
We look forward to having these girls lead at MLC in 2026. Many have been GSV Sports Captains of various sports over the years and it great to see that continue.
