Welcome to March on RMPBS! We are thrilled to announce the premiere of our Antiques Roadshow episodes filmed at the Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms. This month is packed with exciting new music programs, including “Earth, Wind & Fire: iHeart Radio Live,” “Deconstructing the Beatles,” and “The Marley Brothers,” among others. Our favorite dramas are also returning for new seasons, such as “Call the Midwife,” “Wolf Hall,” and “Marie Antoinette.” Be sure to check out the premiere of “The Future of Nature” on the 26th as we prepare for Earth Month in April. Additionally, look for new episodes of “American Experience,” “Independent Lens,” and “Great Performances.” March is Women’s History Month, so please look for the (WHM) tag on highlighted programs that reflect on and celebrate the journeys and accomplishments of extraordinary women.

GREAT WOMEN OF TV VARIETY (WHM)

A dazzling musical comedy salute to the history-making women of 1960s and ‘70s TV Variety. The program features classic performances from Carol Burnett, Lily Tomlin, Diahann Carroll, Cher, Mitzi Gaynor, Toni Tennille, Ella Fitzgerald, Ann-Margret, Vikki Carr, Leslie Uggams, and many more. Collectively these trailblazing icons reinvented a TV genre, both in front of, and behind the camera, with razzle-dazzle showmanship, and a dynamic creative vision that entertained tens of millions.

Season 14 begins in 1970, marking a new decade in Poplar. As chaos unfolds when activists on the Isle of Dogs block access in their bid for independence, Dr. Turner and the midwives must work to keep things running as usual.

The brightest high school minds travel from all corners of Colorado to compete against each other on all things science. Categories include biology, astronomy, paleontology, and meteorology. After a full day of classroom competition, three finalists compete for the Championship and $500 scholarships for each winning team member.

An RMPBS presents documentary. An adventurous researcher, joined by her inexperienced graduate student, venture into the high Arctic to endure the Alaskan winter and set up devices to monitor when the Canning River, clogged by winter ice, begins to flow. This is a story about the lengths that the two will go for climate science, and how their partnership changes along the way.

Dorothy Horrell is a trailblazer with a history in education and philanthropy, serving as President of Red Rocks Community College before becoming the first female President of Community Colleges of Colorado. She served as President of Bonfils-Stanton Foundation, Chair of the Board of Trustees of Colorado State University, and Chancellor of CU Denver.

“Nothing Safer” is a documentary exploring the Prison Trained K-9 Companion Program, where incarcerated women gain skills, self-esteem, and income by training rescue dogs. Launched by Colorado Correctional Industries in 2002, the program helps inmates reintegrate into society while providing trained dogs for children with medical needs, offering both dogs and women a second chance.
