MARKET PLACE: CHARLOTTE DOUGLAS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT Charlotte, NC / 1,960 sf

Redefining the Airport Retail Experience Market Place at Charlotte Douglas International Airport redefines the traditional airport retail experience, offering a thoughtfully curated selection of gifts and travel essentials. Drawing inspiration from contemporary convenience retailers like Foxtrot and Nourish & Bloom, the design balances a boutique-like atmosphere with the functionality of a high-traffic travel hub.

The project was driven by the client’s vision to establish a distinctive retail brand within the airport, diverging from standard concession-style stores. Little’s retail and brand experience teams collaborated closely to craft a design that seamlessly integrates the new brand identity with the physical space. A key element of the approach was engaging with both the client and the airport landlord to ensure alignment with operational and branding expectations.

Through strategic problem-solving and a strong client relationship, Little successfully delivered a unique and engaging retail experience that enhances the airport journey.

GROVE 98 Wake Forest, NC / 42,000 sf

A vibrant retail hub at the heart of a thriving community This new 42,000+ square-foot retail hub within a mixed-use development was designed to seamlessly integrate outdoor amenities and landscaped spaces with diverse building forms, creating an engaging experience for both tenants and customers. The client aimed to deliver a vibrant center that combines shopping, dining, and leisure opportunities tailored to local residents. The design emphasizes visual variety through the architecture, thoughtfully curated outdoor spaces, and a mix of materials. The result is a lively, welcoming environment that enhances community interaction and supports a diverse tenant mix, offering unique experiences for all visitors.

REDDY New York, NY / 1,774 sf

The epicenter for dog owners Reddy SoHo is the first concept flagship for Reddy, Petco’s lifestyle and fashion brand for dogs. Located in Manhattan’s SoHo district, the new store has an urban boutique feel, with an industrial design complemented

by Reddy’s signature bold color palette, patterns and textures. Designed to offer an elevated shopping experience, the store features a curated selection of apparel, accessories and supplies, a gourmet food section by JustFoodForDogs and several interactive experiences and amenities.

THE CARDINAL SHOP: THE CATHOLIC UNIVERSIT Y OF AMERICA Washington, D.C. / 1,400 sf

Elevating school spirit at the heart of campus To elevate school pride and student experience, The Catholic University of America sought to relocate its off-campus bookstore and spirit shop to the heart of campus within the Pryzbyla University Center. The project included creating a dynamic, heavily branded retail environment and renovating an adjacent space into a modernized post office. The new space not only enhances convenience but also fosters stronger connections between students, families, and the university.

Design efforts focused on crafting a nostalgic, story-driven space that resonates with the unique identity of the university. Recognizing the absence of traditional athletic pride, Little developed a fresh brand for the store, incorporating elements like felt pennants to celebrate campus life.

GOODWILL Charlotte, NC / 21,000 sf

Redefining retail with purpose Goodwill’s “Store of the Future” on Shopton Road in Charlotte, NC, is more than just a retail space—it’s a vibrant community hub. As the 34th Goodwill store in the area, this location redefines the shopping experience while advancing the organization’s mission to help individuals achieve family stability and career growth. It’s a great example of innovation and community connection, where every purchase helps fund local job training and support services.

A L L MODE R N ( WAY FA IR ) Austin, TX / 11,600 sf

Blending vintage charm with modern design AllModern, Wayfair’s specialty retail brand selling contemporary furnishings and decor, unveiled its third brick-and-mortar store in Austin, TX, stepping outside its Boston roots for the first time. Instead of building from the ground up, the new 11,600 square-foot location breathes life into a transforming suburban shopping center by merging two outdated tenant spaces into one stylish, expansive suite. By seamlessly blending vintage charm with the contemporary design of its prototype, AllModern redefines the shopping experience, revitalizing the entire center.

UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS CO-OP Austin, TX / 30,000 sf

A hub of Longhorn pride and retail innovation The renovated 30,000 square foot University Co-op redefines the retail experience. This newly designed space seamlessly blends tradition with modernity, offering a vibrant and engaging environment for students, alumni, and visitors. The design prioritizes flexibility and flow, enhancing the shopping experience while fostering a strong connection to the UT community. The project integrates contemporary retail strategies with dynamic spatial planning, ensuring adaptability for evolving consumer needs. Thoughtful material selections, branding elements, and lighting design create an immersive atmosphere that celebrates UT’s spirit.

THE GOOD POUR Multiple Locations / 3,000 sf

A hospitality-driven retail space that connects with guests and their desire to serve the community and contribute to a greater purpose This 3,000 square-foot wine & spirits store capitalizes the client’s main design drivers: Community, Outdoors to Indoors, Wayfinding and Visual Cues, Scaled Sustainability, Guest Engagement, and Sensory Engagement.

From the captivating storefront, radiating transparency and warmth, to the intentional visual cues guiding uncluttered merchandising, every detail aims for clarity and inspiration. Sustainability is ingrained in the design strategy, scalable for both leased and owned properties.

Inside, The Good Pour’s mission is vividly communicated through diverse mediums, emphasizing education, inclusion, humor, and humility. Engage your senses with carefully curated music, lighting, and scents, complemented by authentic materials. This is more than a shopping experience; it’s a sensory journey filled with curated moments and lasting memories.

SOUTHERN TIDE Huntersville, NC / 1,500 sf

Elevating a brand’s mission Southern Tide, a well-known coastal lifestyle brand, successfully entered the Charlotte, NC market by optimizing an available space at Birkdale Village mixed-use development.

Overcoming initial challenges, the design team enhanced the store entrance, making it more visible from the streetscape and addressing accessibility issues. Additionally, the team effectively managed the complexities associated with having residential units situated above the store.

THE SPICE HOUSE Naperville, IL / 1600 sf

A multi-sensory retail experience This newest location of The Spice House is a multi-sensory retail experience. Inspired by markets and apothecaries of the past, the overall aesthetic blends warm and cool tones to create a calming, neutral environment, perfect for discovering culinary possibilities.

A central checkout anchors the store, welcoming customers and serving as a space for product demonstrations and recipe curation.

SHINOLA Los Angeles, CA / 4,484 sf

Celebrating craftsmanship in the heart of the Los Angeles Arts District Shinola has built a brand that celebrates craftsmanship and carries out a mission to create jobs and employ skilled American labor. Our creative design team prioritized the brand’s ethos when transforming this space in a 1915 warehouse and made sure it could be felt by consumers in the finished experience. Along with the retail store, the space also houses a cafe and a “speakeasy” tattoo salon. The resulting design has allowed for each of the use components to coexist seamlessly, while establishing distinctly different identities and customer experiences.

BUNULU Estero, FL / 5,000 sf

A unique, soulful and comfortable approach to style When Florida retailer Beall’s wanted to launch a new brand to coincide with its 100-year anniversary, Bunulu was born. Our team worked with the client to create the brand strategy and identity for Bunulu - a name derived from the aboriginal word for “place of water. The overall look and feel of the store supports Bunulu’s commitment to coastal lifestyle enthusiasts who expect a unique, soulful and comfortable approach to style.

L I L LY P U L I T Z E R Huntersville, NC / 1,600 sf

Expanding Southern Roots This space is crafted to showcase Lilly Pulitzer’s vibrant brand, emphasizing casual glamour and joyful spirit. Positioned beside sibling store Southern Tide at Birkdale Village, the design integrates Lilly Pulitzer’s signature elements into the existing space and expands the storefront for additional square footage and better visibility. The team also addressed accessibility challenges at the entrance.

BLOOMSBURG UNIVERSITY STORE Bloomsburg, PA / 7,325 sf

Flexible retail experience that exemplifies design innovation, energy and a twist on the traditional Located on the ground floor of the state-ofthe-art Soltz Residence Hall, this University store offers students and visitors a dynamic retail brand experience. With this campus store, Bloomsburg wanted to create a dynamic and flexible retail experience that would excite students and visitors. Mirroring the University’s core attributes of “inspired, diverse, and engaged,” the customer experience is orchestrated before even entering the store with the modern iconic storefront and inspiring window displays.

DAVIDSON CAMPUS S TORE Davidson, NC / 6,000 sf

Elevating school pride while creating an improved shopping experience The first impression for visitors, particularly those considering attending Davidson College, is derived from their arrival on Main Street.

The College embraced this opportunity by acquiring an existing, two-story building perfectly positioned for its new campus store.

Our strategy focused on bringing the visual excitement of well-known branded retail to a collegiate setting and merchandising a broad product array in a setting that projects the values and spirit of Davidson College.

CAMP Dunwoody, GA / 14,000 sf

Fusing a modern-day toy store with immersive adventures As a former La-Z-Boy retail store, this CAMP store is designed to inspire and engage families by seamlessly blending product and play.

The space features a large retail area and multiple engagement zones where children and their families can shop and participate in hands-on activities. From arts and crafts to games, puzzles, and even a customizable slime bar, every inch of the space exudes the whimsical, imaginative spirit of the brand.

FARROW & BALL Dallas, TX / 6,000 sf

An adaptive reuse of an existing warehouse Supporting the retailer’s commitment to the environment, Little partnered with Farrow & Ball on this adaptive reuse of an existing warehouse to create a space that is more than just a store and showroom for the Dallas Design District Community. Designed with flexibility in mind and with in-field fixtures equipped with casters to allow adaptation of the space , the renovated store can be easily transformed for events and learning seminars that meet the needs of the surrounding design community.
