WELCOME TO AROUND THE GROUNDS What a great start to Term 4 GSV! Seniors took on Round 1 AND Round 2 of their condensed fixture and the Inters and Juniors all competed proudly for MLC in their Round 1 matches. Lots of wins, some losses and an enormous amount of fun!

Round 3 & 4 coming up next week for the Senior Cricketers and Basketballers then just the one more week with finals set for Wednesday Oct 29th.

WATER POLO

IMPORTANT REMINDERS: As the days warm up, please ensure you come prepared to compete. Eat a good lunch, have plenty of water throughout the day, and some energy food pre match is always a good idea too. Bring extra water to matches and don't forget your sunscreen and hats, particularly important for the sports played outside.

ATTENDANCE & COMMITMENT: Our GSV teams all rely on having ALL allocated team members at training to learn the game and improve and at the weekly matches to compete as a TEAM. If you cannot make it due to injury, sickness or another valid reason please let your coaches know. We do not want to forfeit matches due to student unavailability. If you have committed to a GSV team sport you are expected to participate for the full season.

We are now using the automated system “Clipboard” and unexplained absences, or ‘noshows’ will result in an email home. This system will also now show your GSV schedule directly to your MLC timetable. TOUCH FOOTBALL: MLC had 6 teams compete in the first ever round of weekly GSV Touch Football this week and it was fantastic!

A huge shout out to all players, (all 58 of you!) for willing to have a go at a brand-new sport and try something new. All teams were amazing and are learning so fast, we are very excited to watch this sport grow!

BASKETBALL: If you have not yet purchased your Basketball singlet, please do so ASAP. All students are expected to be wearing them for matches from next week on. It is a compulsory uniform item for all team members. FINAL NOTES: Be sure to continually check your Teams message group for the most up to date information regarding training, fixturing, matches and departure times.

This is also the best contact point to reach your coaches to let them know of any absences for training or matches.
