CISCO KEYNOTE

A Connected Intelligence Experience

On Thursday, Espen Løberg, VP of product management-Cisco Collaboration Devices, discussed the workplace of today and tomorrow in his keynote, “Powering the Modern Workplace with Connected Intelligence.” Cisco has a renewed focus on “Connected Intelligence,” or how the company enhances workplace experiences through unifying networks, collaboration platforms, devices, and, of course, AI.

Before Løberg took to the stage, Jenn Heinold, SVP Expositions Americas, welcomed guests to another packed session in the Keynote Theater. “One of the most exciting trends shaping our industry today is the convergence of technologies that were once managed separately,” she said, welcoming Løberg to the stage to present Cisco’s vision for Connected Intelligence.

One of the common themes throughout the week at InfoComm has been the Agentic AI Revolution. Løberg agreed, and over the next hour, he took attendees on a tour of Cisco solutions powering Connected Intelligence for the modern workplace.

A Pivotal Moment

Løberg feels we are at a critical juncture in Pro AV. We are moving from chatbots to agents that are digital coworkers, and right around the corner we will enter the era of physical AI with robots and sensors that can assist in the workplace. People need to be enabled to collaborate, to create meaningful connections, and to learn something new and solve new problems. “I care about beautiful things,” Løberg

said. “My favorite form of art is architecture. So, what I truly love about my job is that I get to connect people in buildings with purpose.”

This starts with an infrastructure that everyone can trust to turn intelligence into impact. And that happens with the three areas of Cisco’s Connected Intelligence: People and people, people and AI, and AI and AI. Valuable partnerships with companies like Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Zoom— some of which were announced at InfoComm this week—can deliver more seamless, intelligent, and measurable workplace experiences.

Right now, Cisco believes there is a gap between what AI promises and what current physical infrastructure offers. “How many spend the first few minutes of work fighting with technolo-

gy?” Løberg asked the audience, which responded with a sea of raised hands. That gap is the challenge Pro AV needs to solve.

The Agentic Workplace

Cisco is Customer Zero for its own technology. It should think, adapt, and act (such as detecting, diagnosing, and fixing problems). Løberg introduced several Cisco solutions designed to do just that like the AV over IP-powered Room Kit Pro G2, Desk Pro G2, Board Pro G3, and several others. They were all designed with AI agents built in, like Cisco’s Director.

Løberg reflected back to the pandemic and the ensuing return-to-work push after. He pointed to a “Return of Commute” equation that took into account office values, like connection and career growth, and divided it by commute pain, like time, cost, and stress. Many offices were not worth the commute after the pandemic. Cisco used its New York office as the blueprint for a connected office and then opened two more offices in Paris and Atlanta in 2023, and then four more in both 2024 and 2025.

The focus was using Cisco AI tools like Director, AI Notetaker, Cisco Workplace Designer, and Cisco Cloud Control to design the ideal office space; to make rooms and offices easier to use. He referenced their Distance Zero mission: to eliminate the barriers of distance in the room itself and anywhere remote. Originally, features like AI framing and transcription did the trick. Now, they are building AI agents into their software to help people get work done.

After introducing the Room Kit Pro G2, or as Løberg called it, “The Beast,” Wednesday’s keynote speaker Ilya Bukshteyn from Microsoft joined Løberg on the stage to talk about the Microsoft and Cisco partnership and how it is fueling the Agentic AI revolution. Bukshteyn felt the strength of their partnership is the connected focus on using human creativity to drive business outcomes instead of waiting times in rooms or dealing with broken technology. Together, they help customers make every space a perfect collaboration space with Ambient AI.

“We are here at InfoComm this week to figure out what’s next, and I would argue you just saw it,” Løberg concluded. “The opportunity now is for all of us to close the gap between AI in your business and the spaces where your people work every day. The good news is that the technology is here today.”

Mariana Atencio Keynote Discusses Building Trust in the AI Era

Before the show floor opened Thursday morning, a sold-out crowd of over 300 attendees filled the Keynote Theater for the 11th annual AVIXA Women’s Breakfast. Sarah Joyce, chief global officer, AVIXA, kicked off the event, welcoming the packed house to celebrate the global community committed to supporting and empowering women who work in technology and the AV industry. Founded in 2015, the AVIXA Women’s Council now has more than 1,200 members worldwide.

Before they handed things over to Mariana Atencio for a highly emotional and interactive keynote, Heather Best of Diversified introduced Women Without Boundaries, an industry-wide recognition program created to celebrate the women driving progress across AV, media, and technology. WAVIT founder and owner of BAM Marketing Brandy Alvarado-Miranda then introduced Emily Cieslak and Alexa Johnson as the 2026 Mary Cook Empowerment Award: Designing the Future scholarship. Jeanne Lewis, senior manager, channel and events, Sony, also came to the stage with some eye-opening numbers from the event’s sponsor. Lewis shared that 36% of Sony North America employees are women; 37% of Sony Pro Display Solutions employees are women; and 42% of Sony Pro Display Solutions leadership positions are held by women.

Atencio, a Peabody Award-winning journalist, bestselling author, media entrepreneur, inspiring storyteller, and host/moderator, then took attendees

on a journey from an uncertain future to becoming a widely recognized personality and leader in her keynote, “Real Matters: Building Trust in an Unreal World.” She discussed how trust has become one of the most valuable assets leaders and organizations can cultivate. It is more so true today, in the AI Era as she called it, as the world is continuously changing with emerging technologies from the very AV professionals sitting in front of her.

“It’s the AI Era,” Atencio said. “ChatGPT can write the quote. Every bid looks the same. The experts are leaving. Uncertainty is the weather.”

Trust, she added, is what drives it all. Shifting from her own experience to the world of Pro AV, she pointed out that nobody leaves a concert talking about the cabling or even what the subwoofers looked like. Pro AV work is meant to be invisible. Customers have high expectations, ones that need to be 100% certain that when the lights go down, the technology must work with the flip of a switch. But there is no way to know that will happen… until it happens. It is trust that continues to make the uncertainty more certain, especially in Pro AV.

“Courage is what gets you there, but trust is what keeps you alive,” Atencio said. She shared video of some of her weather reporting, often in hurricane or dangerous flood conditions. And every time, she wasn’t alone. A crew followed her, and she constantly reminded the audience that it was not because of her title, it wasn’t because of her stature in the industry; it was because they trusted her.

Trust, she said, is built at eye level. For the remainder of her time on the stage, she explored the architecture of trust. The three-tiered architecture included seeing yourself, seeing each other, and, finally, being seen.

She had several interactive portions of the show, all relating to the eye as the beholder of truth. One such activity required attendees to look their neighbor in the eyes for 60 straight seconds. Why? If trust starts in the eye, holding a person’s gaze makes them feel seen and allows them to see through your eyes.

She closed by imploring the audience to use what we learned about trust and eye contact on the show floor because after all, Atencio concluded, everyone here is a connection waiting to happen.

At a reception held here on Wednesday afternoon, representatives from each group addressed a crowd of interested attendees.

“We spend a lot of time trying to figure out what is it about us that makes us different and special,” said AVIXA CEO David Labuskes. “And it’s the community. You can put together an event, but you can’t just slap together a community. Community grows and evolves, and what it needs is a campfire to gather around. What it needs is an opportunity to share learnings, to pass on traditions, to create new futures together, none of which can be done without being in the same room as each other.

“When we were introduced to Lightapalooza, HTSA, and Pro Source, the first question was, ‘Is there a community behind this?’ Because without that, it’s just another event. It is my deep joy to watch the community that I’ve been a part of for so long begin to grow and expand. And thank you for being a part of that and for entrusting us. We look forward to having you as part of the family.”

“We sat down with Jenn [Heinold, SVP, Expositions Americas, AVIXA] and it took all of about three minutes to realize the synergy of what was there,” said Jon Robbins, HTSA executive director,

“I think that this new show can connect commercial and residential differently here in the United States,” said Jim Pearse, CEO of ProSource. “I think that there’s an efficiency for our vendors having a single show for them to go to and there’s an efficiency for the dealers in the custom installation industry to have one show to go to. My hope is that we can begin to create more of a community between the commercial part of the business and the residential part of the business.

“My hope is that this show turns into something very, very special, and when we look out in five years, we will have new traditions and new ideas and new productivity and a place for all of us to come to and really share ideas, find new business opportunities, and continue to grow the consumer electronics industry that I very much love in my heart.”

Powering ‘The Experience Engine’

The use of displays, digital signage, AV content, and other technologies to create immersive visitor experiences in museums, gaming facilities, and more is exploding, creating both opportunities and challenges for venues. With that in mind, Wednesday’s “The Experience Engine: How AV is Driving Engagement and Revenue in Entertainment Venues” panel at the InfoComm Vision Stage explored how the segment has evolved, its currentday needs, and what the future might bring.

Presented by the Digital Signage Federation, the panel was moderated by Megan Zeller, senior director business development, bespoke mounting systems at Peerless-AV, and featured panelists Tom Fanger, VP, multimedia at MGM Las Vegas; Kevin Reilly, director of entertainment operations at Mohegan Sun Casino; Erica Neal, managing director of technology at the upcoming Lucas Museum of Narrative Art; and Danny Inukai, CIO of the Natural History Museum Los Angeles.

The public’s expectations of signage have changed, said Neal, noting, “People want to be engaged and feel this anticipation of seeing something instead of having a regular sign that says, ‘Enter here.’ They want to know what they’re getting into, so they are looking to see something more visually pleasing, something where it’s more of a story.”

A tightly managed CMS and hardware approach is crucial in order to simplify and standardize as

many aspects as possible. Fanger recalled, “When I first started in this business…we had two dozen content management systems out there, and the logistics of getting a single piece of content into those systems and up on those screens was a nightmare…so initially [our approach] was, ‘Let’s standardize it.’”

Ianuki seconded the importance of standardizing to specific equipment, noting that it aids training, is more cost-effective due to bulk purchasing, and easier to administer. “We’re the ones that actually have to maintain systems, and if we have to train staff to maintain different technology stacks, it just makes life immensely harder,” he said. “One hundred percent standardization makes our lives

easier in the long run.”

Reilly described some of the challenges Mohegan Sun faces as it prepares for a $30 million renovation of its arena, but noted that it’s crucial to keep sight of the desired result. “Take a step back and look at what the big picture is,” he advised. “We had an hour-long conversation in a meeting with 15 people about a sign on a column. To look at the big picture is to step back and say, ‘What’s the guest experience going to be as you come in? Do I really need to have a sign here, or did I miss this experience? Should we have a really big sign, or something else?’ Take that step back, look at the overall thing, look at ‘what am I doing and what is the customer experience going to be.’”

The InfoComm Audio Demo Room Deep Dive

There are 26 different Audio Demo Rooms to check out this year, so whether you’re looking for amazing live sound and installation tools, groundbreaking immersive audio technologies or just a cool demo to sit back and enjoy, you’ll find it in the Demo Rooms. Here, we continue our exploration of them by room number order:

Bose Professional (N116): Inside Bose Professional’s demo room, there’s an ecosystem of loudspeakers, electronics, and software, including several newly available solutions—FreeSpace 3 Mini Cube Satellites, DesignMax DM12SE, and ControlSpace Designer Software—and a first look at the ShowTime STS118E, a powerful new subwoofer made for indoor and outdoor installation.

Eastern Acoustic Works (N117): EAW is launching the latest additions to its Newport Series of lightweight, high-performance solutions: the new NT208L Line Array and NT116S Subwoofer, intended for touring and live productions, installations and outdoor festivals. EAW is also debuting its new Online Array Assistant (OAA) software, a browser-based tool available for use via computer or smart phone that provides angles, pick-points, and switch settings.

Alcons Audio (N118): Inside N118, discover the diversity of the Alcons solutions portfolio across cinema, sound reinforcement, installation, and reference monitoring applications. Demonstrations include the CR3 medium-format pro-ribbon screen system from the C-series pro-cinema range, along with the recently introduced MR10 from the M-series, and the GR20 high-output point-source system with the GB181 18-inch subwoofer from the G-series.

ADJ (N119): Offering visitors an expanded immersive “AVL Experience,” ADJ is displaying its latest professional lighting, LED video, and control solutions, while sister company AVANTE Audio showcases sound systems ranging from a portable column setup to a large-scale line array in a dedicated listening environment. Featured systems include the Achromic AS8 ACDC; the Achromic A12X active 12-inch two-way loudspeaker; the Imperio Pro compact line array system; and the Akro Series active line array system.

dBTechnologies USA (N120): dBTechnologies’ demo room is highlighting the IS Series, an installation-focused passive loudspeaker platform engineered for scalable, repeatable system design. You’ll experience a precision-distributed, multi-source immersive configuration built entirely

around IS Series IS26 loudspeakers, showcasing controlled directivity, spatial coherence, and consistent coverage across a highly resolved listening environment. Also featured in the demo room is the VIO platform—dBTechnologies’ flagship touringgrade line array system—with listening sessions featuring the newly released VIO L1608 compact 3-way line array paired with VIO subwoofers.

Adamson (N204): Adamson’s demo room this year is covering the company’s full system offering, placing a special emphasis on system infrastructure. The company is demonstrating parts of its mobile, install, and spatial technology connected together with its new MS8.2 Milan-focused network switches. Over at the booth, Adamson is also displaying the VGx, its latest large-format line source, and the VGt, while the IS-Series is also being featured along with its dedicated amplifier platform.

Danley Sound Labs (N206): You don’t have to travel far to see Danley Sound Labs’ Exodus— the new, modular loudspeaker system is making its public debut inside N206. Exodus introduces Danley’s proprietary Cohearix Lens Technology, which makes the most of the company’s Synergy Horn technologies, to the pro audio market.

RCF (N210): RCF is showing a number of RCF and TT+ Audio portfolio solutions alongside the world premiere of high-output portable column systems and active, portable point-source loudspeakers. Sessions feature the new X Series high-power installed loudspeakers with S Series subwoofers, along with the GTX 7C cardioid line array and GTS 16C cardioid subwoofer from TT+ Audio.

Theory Professional (N212): InfoComm attendees can hear the Theory Professional lineup along with much of its core product line, including a unique full-range loudspeaker. The extreme output SR-221.3 features integral dual 21-inch, 3,600W low-frequency drivers and four 10-inch carbon fiber high-output midrange drivers, resulting in a speaker that Theory refers to as a “rock concert-in-a-box” because a single loudspeaker can easily fill medium-sized venues.

Yamaha Corporation of America (N220): There’s a lot to discover inside Yamaha’s demo room and booth, where visitors can get a closer look at complete Yamaha audio systems. There’s hands-on demos of RIVAGE V7 firmware and DM7 configurations for applications across live entertainment, HoW, and more; a first look at next-gen Commercial Installed Solutions; and the

opportunity to audition Nexo Speakers and experience Sound xR immersive solutions—an objectbased sound image control system based around the DME Series programmable DSP platform that gives users precise control over how sound is placed and directed within a space.

KV2 Audio (N222): KV2 Audio is highlighting its ESD Series loudspeakers, which were recently formally certified to IEC 60 529—the international standard defining the degree of protection provided by mechanical casings and electrical enclosures.

MayCo (N224): Inside N223, MayCo is featuring immersive technology demonstrations powered by Modulo Pi, showing how interactive experiences can be brought to life through a combination of projection mapping, LED displays, real-time motion tracking, and interactive media servers. Explore responsive environments that react to audience movement and engagement while learning how these technologies are being used across live events, museums, themed entertainment, experiential marketing activations, and corporate environments.

Electro-Voice and Dynacord (N228): The “Hearing is Believing” experience inside N228 is designed to move beyond specifications and give attendees the opportunity to hear how complete Electro-Voice and Dynacord solutions perform in real-world applications. The demo features three segments: The first demonstrates the EVID commercial loudspeaker portfolio, highlighting hospitality, retail, and commercial audio applications. The second features the LRC column loudspeaker family, focused on worship, lecture-hall, and auditoria environments where intelligibility, coverage control, and architectural fit are essential. The third showcases the next-generation EVF G2 and EVH G2 arrayable point-source systems.

Engaging Audiences in an Interactive World

Passive entertainment is out—today, audiences want to connect with the action and interact in new ways. That puts the onus on venues to create experiences that can meet those heightened expectations and find new ways to delight. The challenges and successes that come with the job were the main focus of the panel “Disguise: Elevating Visitor Engagement with Spatial Storytelling,” presented Thursday at the Spotlight Stage.

Examining different aspects of that creative journey and execution were Joanna Syiek, marketing campaign manager—USA for Disguise; Justin Glatt, vice president of innovation at Disney Live Entertainment; Bryan Zebleckes, director of audio, video and lighting, MDSX; and Pablo Molina, senior strategic specifications lead, Americas for Disguise.

Topics explored included the necessity of previs, ensuring that different systems integrate without latency; how panelists discover new tools to bring into their development workflows; designing for redundancy; ways that media server-driven

workflows can aid refreshing an attraction without a need for rebuilding physical infrastructure; finding inspiration; and more.

While the panelists discussed venues ranging from popular theme parks to Top of the Rock, an outdoor elevator on the roof of New York City’s Rockefeller Center, they took pains to note that all projects are relevant. Glatt shared, “Don’t let scale be your benchmark. Everyone sitting on this stage has done really, really massive projects, both in physical scale and maybe dollar amounts,

but we all started somewhere, so don’t measure your success by the dollar amount. Embrace the creative and embrace the technology first, and let everything else come after.”

Despite the often cutting-edge technologies they bring to projects, Molina was all for keeping things grounded, as he remarked, “Technology should always be secondary to the storytelling; it always needs to be in the service of the greater story.

The first-ever Vision Stage Showdown closed out Wednesday’s offerings on the Central Hall Vision Stage with a pitch fest, looking at media systems that scale.

The Vision Stage Showdown featured representatives from four different InfoComm exhibitors who each took the stage and extolled the virtues of their latest product for seven minutes (though often more). At the side of the stage were three industry expert panelists who asked pertinent questions about each presentation. Among the panelists were Robin Raskin, founder of Virtual Event Group; Shelly Sable, creative producer at Fuse Technical Group; and AVIXA’s Samantha Minish, VP of content delivery. While panelists on reality TV shows can go for the jugular, the team of industry pros were congenial and positive as they asked questions to gain more clarity on the products being pitched.

Abe Abt, senior product consultant at AJA Video Systems, was the first to take the stage, as he discussed “Navigating a Hybrid IP World with AJA Video Systems.” He was soon followed by Christian Struck, senior product manager, audio infrastructure at Lawo AG, who explored “Accelerating the Move to IP with Edge ONE.” Next up was Edgebeam Wireless’ Steve Brumer, chief revenue officer and Ryan Lush, sales director, who traded off on the topic of “Hybrid Broadcast Data Delivery with EdgeBeam Wireless.” Closing out the lineup was Samantha Potter, manager – installation & commercial audio at Allen & Heath USA, who discussed “Smarter Control for Modern Audio Systems with Allen & Heath.”

UNLV Immerses Higher-Ed AV/IT Professionals in Virtual Reality

On Tuesday, before the show floor opened, Frank Alaimo, manager of Classroom Technology Services–University of Nevada Las Vegas, Joseph Chrobak, senior AV/IT systems specialist–UNLV, Pulasthi “P.T.” Thennakoon, immersive learning supervisor–UNLV, and an array of UNLV students and staff took higher education AV/IT specialists on a tour of the latest technological advancements on the UNLV campus. This year, the UNLV Dreamscape Learn (VR Experience) and Lied Library Technology Spaces tour took attendees into a world of immersive education and engaging storytelling.

The highlight of the tour was the 4,000-squarefoot, VR space Dreamscape Learn immersive classroom with a free-roam entertainment space next door. The entire area includes a welcoming, warm space with couches and chairs for students to work and discuss projects. Next door, Dreamscape Learn, a 16-seat immersive classroom, has three

specific VR experiences for students; a tour of the Hagia Sofia for art history students, a 12-module biology course, and an environmental starting pack exploring such treasures as the Colorado River, the Coliseum, and a trip to the moon, among others. Each seat is equipped with a VIVE headset designed with noise-canceling headphones to hear all the details of the virtual tour or module. InfoComm attendees were guided on a 20-minute tour of the Hagia Sofia via the headset, and each seat was equipped with a ButtKicker haptic transducer so every guest can feel each experience whether it’s a rumble or a rev. Each station is also donned with a Thrustmaster joystick for the biology classes.

Next door is a Free-Roam Pod. This was designed for six students featuring content that, per UNLV, adapts the creativity from movie and theme

park industries for instructional purposes. The focus here is to have fun while learning, focused on adventure and entertainment as well as engineering and design. Six VIVE headsets are used in a red-lit studio where the floor rumbles, fans emulate wind, and what the UNLV team refers to as “props” emulate torches, flashlights, and other things to hold on to. VICON PULSAR head and feet sensors bring guests completely into the action, with cameras tracking the sensors throughout the area.

The tour then made a stop in the Immersive Learning Lab. While Dreamscape creates the content for the immersive classroom, the Immersive Learning Lab was built-in house and run by students. It is still young, roughly four months old. The room provides seven different “tools” that allow students to virtually engage a wide array of disciplines. From designing buildings with VR modeling tools, to creating 3D designs and sketches in an immersive virtual space, to exploring the human anatomy in 3D models of the human body, 25 PICO 4 Ultra headsets, 12 Meta Quest 3 headsets, a pair of whisper rooms, and 23 computers empower students with more freedom than the Dreamscape Learn to explore and create in a virtual space.

The tour concluded in the Amargosa Room and Lied Library Spaces, such as a podcast studio, production area, and makerspace. The Amargosa Room is built on UNLV’s game-changing RebelFlex platform with Sennheiser in-ceiling speakers and Sony PTZ cameras tracking the action. It is a dual-display presentation area used for symposiums and guest speakers, so there are no classes inside. A pair of 98-inch displays surround the presenter with two smaller displays hung from the ceiling, facing the presenter so they never have to turn around. There are eight huddle stations, each equipped with its own smaller display showcasing what is on the main wall and removable workstations for flexibility. This room takes RebelFlex to a whole new level, as Alaimo referred to it as “RebelFlex on steroids.”
