TENNIS
Its always a big week of action on the GSV front, and last week was no exception! A huge well done to all students who are committing to their training sessions and matches each week.
MLC has the largest number of teams and overall participants in the GSV! This last week we had 56 teams competing across 20 different schools and venues over the 3 days of competition.
To ensure this all happens as smoothly as possible, it is super important that all students are constantly checking their teams chat for training and game information. TERM1GSVSPORTS:
IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
Training Drop off safety - When arriving at 7am for training sessions please note the following: MLC - Volleyball- Ensure all road safety rules are being followed, only stop and exit vehicles in safe, designated stopping areas Consider a slightly further drop off point and walking an extra block where possible.
XAVIER COLLEGE - Tennis and Softball - When dropping your child off for morning sport training, please DO NOT STOP in the driveway entering from Barker's road, or in the driveway into the Chapel Oval Carpark Please drive all the way down the drop off zone, or park in either carpark please. This will reduce congestion at peak times and the backlog of cars extending to Barkers Road (Note this also applies on MLC Run Club mornings with Coach Kate)
Training Schedule - There have been some small adjustments to the training schedule over the last week to accommodate the large numbers of teams. Your exact training day and time can be found in your Team chats If you are unsure, please ask A reminder to message through any unavoidable absences to your coaches as unexplained absences will result in an email home.
Attendance Tracking - This past week we have had reports of students leaving class for GSV sports that were fixtured at HOME Please note, if you have a match fixtured in the PEC (Volleyball) or at Sacred Heart (Tennis) you are to stay in class for all of Period 6. Do not leave class early and you will not be attendance tracked. These matches will not start until 4pm at the earliest as we need to await the opposition schools to arrive. You only leave class at the time communicated in your Teams message by your coach. For the majority of away games this is 2 50pm This time will also be noted on the myMLC system
