EC&M established the Product of the Year Competition in 2001 to recognize excellence in new product development in the electrical industry. More than two decades later, this prominent awards program continues to showcase the most innovative products of the past year, recognizing the talent and commitment of those involved with all aspects of development. EC&M is honored to bestow these awards on inventive

products each year that ensure electrical professionals are able to do their jobs more efficiently and effectively.

Products eligible for this year’s contest were those introduced to the market between Jan. 1, 2025 and Dec. 31, 2025. Out of the 144 product entries received, a panel of industry expert judges narrowed down the field as part of phase one of the competition. Ranking each product based on a uniform list of scoring criteria, the group ranked each entry, ultimately identifying 35 category winners based on innovation and the ability to save end-users time and enhance productivity.

These 35 finalists will now compete for the 2026 Platinum, Gold, and Silver awards, which will be determined by EC&M subscribers (excluding manufacturers) in an online voting process administered on the EC&M website (www.ecmweb.com /55367106) beginning May 18. You can also find accompanying photos and product descriptions of all 144 entries in the pages of this special supplement.

The 316 stainless steel construction provides resistance to corrosion, chemicals, moisture, and impact. The gasketed sealing system maintains a Type 3R environmental seal even while cords remain connected, protecting energized devices from overspray, splashing, and debris during operation. The deep cover design provides the space required for easy operation of the device with the cover closed.

The eyelash gasket provides protected cord routing while maintaining environmental protection, and the cover features locking tabs that support lockout/tagout compliance.

The non-metallic split wall plates, available in single-gang and 2-gang options, are designed to save time and prevent damage for installations with new preconnectorized (pre-terminated) cables or existing low-voltage cables.

Designed to work with cables of varying sizes and quantities, each plate includes multiple grommets that fit neatly around the cable bundle. The grommets help properly size and seal the wall opening, reducing air gaps and providing a clean, finished appearance. With the split design, there’s no need to cut or disconnect cable ends. The plates also feature a lightweight non-metallic construction, suitable for commercial and residential low-voltage wiring.

TELESCOPING BRACKET

The UL-listed ceiling-hanging adjustable bracket (CHAB) series includes an off-theshelf telescoping bracket for overhead open-structure ceiling installations. Designed to replace strut-and-threaded rod assemblies, these brackets remove cutting, drilling, and field fabrication from overhead work. The series includes two models — CHAB-36 (21 in. to 36 in.) and CHAB-60 (33 in. to 60 in.) — giving contractors a fast, adjustable solution for mounting enclosures, junction boxes, disconnects, cable systems, and life-safety equipment. Both models support up to 110 lb and are constructed from 12-gauge steel with a zinc corrosion-resistant finish.

MULTIPLE NM CABLE CONNECTOR

The Wire Waffle connector can be installed in 2.5-in. panel knockouts to group up to 16 different NM cables through a single hole. This connector is designed to reduce wear and tear on tools, clean up panels, simplify panel upgrades, reduce damage to walls, and meet Code requirements. To use the connector, users snap it into a panel knockout from the inside of the panel to secure all cables with minimal stress and effort. It is suitable for performing a panel change in a finished wall without damaging the drywall. It allows for 14/2 through 10/3 cables with break-off tabs for 8/2 through 6/3 cables.

Millenium Flair is a rugged luminaire designed for high-abuse environments and public spaces. It features dynamic, customizable illumination in a slim profile, with a 2-in. overall depth and 14-in. or 18-in. diameter. It offers singleor dual-engine lamping to support color combinations, such as static white and static color, dynamic RGB and RGBW, and switchable white/red or white/ amber perimeter options. An optional embedded motion sensor is factory preset to 30% dimming with a 20-min. timeout. The delivered lumen range is 927 lm to 4,986 lm, the input power is 13W to 67W, and the efficacy is 65 lm/W to 87 lm/W. Kenall Manufacturing

SWITCHBOARDS

Preconfigured ReliaGear merchandised SB switchboards are designed for emergency situations, commercial renovations, and school or building expansions. They come unassembled and are ready to fit most applications.

Modular SKU-based main breaker, distribution, and pull sections enable flexible configuration. The switchboards come in a 208Y/120VAC, 3-phase, 4-wire option and a 480Y/277VAC, 3-phase, 4-wire option, with a short-circuit rating of 1 kAIC up to 480Y/277VAC max. Enclosures are NEMA 1 and NEMA 3R rated, and the bussing is silver-plated copper.

The UNSNAPIT connector removal tool removes ½-in. snap-in connectors from electrical boxes and enclosures. Users can slide the tool over the conductors inside the enclosure and push firmly to release the locking tangs to remove the snap-in connector. The universal design works seamlessly with the manufacturer’s Snap2It ½-in. steel and SNAP-TITE connectors as well as many other manufacturers’ snap-in styles. While you can still use a screwdriver to separate the retaining ring, this tool streamlines the process, reducing effort, saving time, and making it easier to maneuver in tight spaces.

The NexGen Lotus lamp is a dual-wattage, multi-CCT LED lamp featuring fieldadjustable technology, which allows users to select between multiple power settings (40W/60W or 100W/150W) and three color temperatures (3,000K, 4,000K, and 5,000K). The lamp is engineered to work with both Triac and 0VDC to 10VDC systems. The product is rated for use in fully enclosed luminaires and features a 180° adjustable base for precise directional lighting. It offers three distinct power connection options: EX-39, GX16D, and WC2. Installation is streamlined through a plug-and-play design that serves as a direct replacement for HID, PAR halogen, CFL, or incandescent lamps. It eliminates the need for costly luminaire replacements by sliding into the rear of the luminaire and locking into place with internal clips.

CIRCUIT TRACER

The SureTrace Pro circuit tracer reduces the time and tools required for circuit tracing, fault troubleshooting, and continuity checks, with exclusive testing features. Designed for use on energized or de-energized systems up to 600VAC/DC — including 3-phase systems, the kit includes a transmitter, receiver, and inductive/sensing clamp.

The transmitter measures exact voltages from 0V to 600VAC/DC, confirms DC polarity, verifies receptacle wiring, and performs patent-pending automatic continuity tests. The advanced receiver displays analog and digital signal strength, along with battery and sensitivity levels. The UL-listed product provides up to 65W of power per port through dual USB-C connections, charging a laptop to 50% in just 45 min. directly from the wall, according to the company.

The outlet installs like any traditional receptacle, fitting into a standard wall box and pairing with screwless wall plates. The outlet includes intelligent charging that automatically negotiates the correct voltage and current for each device. The outlet features integrated gallium nitride technology, multi-layered overcurrent protection, an LED indicator light, and tamperresistant black invisi-shutters.

The PowerHold receptacle device completes terminations in 10 sec or less, reducing labor costs and enabling contractors to take on more jobs. Features include color-coded levers and a patented tooth design that has a retention force greater than 30 lb. The Millwork series of 11 recessed and surface-mounted luminaires is offered in 2,700K, 3,000K, 3,500K, and 4,000K color temperatures, with a variety of mounting angles, including 90°, 60°, and 45° configurations, and color rendering of high R9 and R13 values. An up/down configuration holds the ultra-thin (0.16 in. wide × 0.24 in. deep) Nano Neon light engine at various angles, providing flexibility and a range of lighting effects.

Suitable for tracing cables up to 6 ft underground and 1,000 ft long, locating breaks, or tracing a circuit back to the breaker, the WCT-700 underground wire tracer and circuit finder is an all-in-one product for any cable tracing task.

Manually adjustable sensitivity allows for finding a cable down to a 6-in. radius. Dual backlit LCD screens with both audible and visual signal-strength readouts simplify locating wires and cables. It works on live or dead wires, with a CAT III 600V rating and a live voltage readout. Seven signal modes and three signal strengths expedite the location of breaks.

The Ova round emergency surface-mount downlight integrates 3W emergency lighting capability into the manufacturer’s existing round surface-mount series. The ABRA in-wall smart switch allows users to create daily on/off schedules, smart lighting scenes, and smart home automations without a smart hub.

DISTRIBUTION CABLES

The dual-listed Class 4 PowerPipe distribution cables, part of the Activate line, are rated CL4Z and CL4P. They are suitable for use in plenum pathways for air handling, such as drop ceilings or spaces below raised floors, and in riser spaces, which are vertical runs within a building. They can be used outdoors for direct burial, in wet locations, and are sunlight resistant. One cable covers multiple code requirements, so it’s not necessary to stock separate plenum-rated and riser-rated cables. Instead, this product can easily transition from outdoor to indoor pathways and spaces. The plenum rating ensures low flame spread and low smoke production.

Remee Wire & Cable

The IP66-rated multipurpose outdoor linear LED luminaire offers protection against dust and water jets while maintaining a slim profile of 2 in. wide and 2 in. high. Installers can daisy chain up to 56 ft of 8-ft or 4-ft models or 30 ft of 2-ft models on a single power drop. The manufacturer’s Power Select technology offers three wattage levels per luminaire, while Color Select provides five CCT options (3,000K/3,500K/ 4,000K/5,000K/7,100K).
