WELCOME TO AROUND THE GROUNDS Another great week of GSV Interschool sport. Spirits and participation rates are high!

Term 4 we again have fantastic numbers across all our GSV sports with just on 340 students taking part weekly!

28 Cricket players: JSS x 1 team, MS/SS x 1 teams 207 Basketball players: JSS x 12 teams, MS x 8 teams and SS x 3 teams 39 Water Polo players: JSS x 4 teams 66 Touch Football players: JSS x 2 teams, MS x 4 teams

IMPORTANT REMINDERS: UNIFORM BLITZ: While representing MLC in GSV Sport all students are expected to be the in the full and complete MLC Sports Uniform. This includes your MLC Competition top, black shorts/sports skirt and if required, any specific MLC jerseys such as your Basketball singlet for Term 4.

This past week we have seen a large number of students out of uniform. Due to this, from Monday onwards the coaches and teachers will be on a Sports uniform blitz for GSV! Things they will be on the lookout for include coloured house tops, tracksuit pants, and no basketball jerseys. (see photos to the left) You can wear your MLC jumpers, vests and tracksuit pants for warm up, but the above is expected for competition.

Please join us to uphold the high standards MLC sets and let’s look the part of a strong, united TEAM when we visit or play the other schools.

ATTENDANCE & COMMITMENT: Another reminer that if you cannot make it to training or your match due to injury, sickness or another valid reason please let your coaches know ASAP. Messages hours out form the game are not acceptable.

We do not want to forfeit matches due to last minute student unavailability. If you have committed to a GSV team sport you are expected to participate for the full season.

We are now using the automated system “Clipboard” and unexplained absences, or ‘no-shows’ will result in an email home.

Next Wednesday Oct 29th the Seniors finishing in the top 2 have their finals!

It is a short season in Term 4 condensed to 2 games a week over just the 3 weeks. This allows plenty of time to study for any upcoming exams.

Final details will be released after the last round on Monday 27th, and times will then be confirmed. At the moment we are expecting a 2.30pm departure for our Basketballers. Keep in contact with your coaches in the Teams chat to ensure you stay up to date.

FINAL NOTES: Be sure to continually check your Teams message group for the most up to date information regarding training, fixturing, matches and departure times.

This is also the best contact point to reach your coaches to let them know of any absences for training or matches.
