PUBLIC ART

3 on Main

In late 2025, three artists will install temporary sculptures along Main Street in the 18b Las Vegas Arts District as part of 3 on Main, a rotating public art initiative. This program features three biannual sculptures, transforming the sidewalk with site-responsive artworks.

Aerial Gallery

(First Street, from Bridger to Boulder Avenue). The featured artists are Bonnie Kelso, Deborah Lambin, Eugene Lang, JK Russ, Linda Alterwitz, Nhan Nguyen, Shawanda Schiefer and Suzanne Acosta. The banners will be on display through June 2025.

Civic Center Building Artwork

We are pleased to announce the selection of artists Gig Depio, Fawn Douglas, Valentin Yordanov and Sebastien Courty for the Civic Center Building Artwork Project. Their artwork will be an important addition to the city's public art collection, with installation scheduled for the spring of 2025.

Goodman Plaza Sculpture Project

The Las Vegas Civic Center Sculpture Project is proud to announce the selection of The Night We Met by artist Krystal Ramirez for installation at the Las Vegas Civic Center. This enchanting sculpture is set to install in the summer of 2025.

Paintbrush Gateway

A national request for proposals has been issued to restore the artwork along Charleston Boulevard created by Dennis Oppenheim. The evaluation panel is currently reviewing the submissions, with the restoration project anticipated to begin in the summer of 2025.

Westside Education and Training Center

Artist Adolfo Gonzalez has been selected to create a mural and sculpture for the forthcoming center located at the corner of D Street and Jefferson Avenue in the Historic Westside. The mural and sculpture are scheduled to be installed by early fall 2025.

Windows on First

Artists are selected to install temporary exhibitions as part of the Windows on First exhibition space at City Hall along the First Street Art Trail. Bailey Anderson’s installation The Neon Lake is on view through September 2025.

The West Las Vegas Arts Center’s Performing and Visual Arts Summer Camp for Kids (PVAC) is a cultural and performing arts program designed to serve children 10-15 years of age living in neighborhoods considered high risk. PVAC is designed to spark the genius in youth, turning the narrative from “Impossible” to “I’m possible.” PVAC provides community youth an opportunity to practice life skills and character building through arts education. Final production on Friday, July 25, & Saturday, July 26, 2025. Financial aid is available for those who qualify. Summer Competition Camp (ages 13-18)

This summer intensive for ages 13-18 focuses on developing acting and performance skills through specialized training. Students receive coaching in their chosen style, participate in a structured evaluation process, and showcase their work in a final performance. Emphasizing both individual growth and ensemble collaboration, the program blends skill-building, personalized feedback and performance opportunities.

covered. Our past alumni have gone on to receive scholarships at local colleges as well as Master programs in Music Performance across the country. Plus, we will show you how fun opera and musical theater can be. Scholarships available.

Summer Acting Camp (ages 8-12)

Rainbow Company Summer Acting Camp is a dynamic program for students ages 8-12. This two-week camp dives into theatre arts through engaging workshops in acting, movement and performance skills. Students will build confidence and trust, increase self-esteem, develop teamwork and foster creativity. Throughout the camp, all students will have the opportunity to perform in a scene and participate in a group musical number, applying what they’ve learned. The camp concludes with a short showcase performed for family and friends. Financial aid available for those who qualify.

Rainbow Company Youth Theatre is a nationally acclaimed, award-winning youth theatre group funded by the city of Las Vegas. For more than 45 years, Rainbow Company has provided professional theatrical training programs for children of all ages. Rainbow's mission is to educate and empower young artists in the community through inclusive, collaborative, and professional opportunities in all aspects of theatre.

SPLASHTASTIC Inflatable FUN!

Come out to Pavilion Center Pool for fun-filled Friday afternoons as we put our obstacle course in the water and watch as you try to jump, climb, navigate and, of course, WIPE-OUT! Participants must pass a swim test before being permitted on the obstacle course, as it will take place in the deep end of the pool.

Dash and Splash

Want some major action and exercise this summer? Event will begin with a 1.5-mile run beginning at Pavilion Center Pool and winding through Veterans Memorial Park. Race will conclude with a 300-meter swim at the pool. There is no age limit, but participants must be able to swim 100 meters successfully.

*Minimum of 10 participants needed for this event.

Leisure Connection

This program is a social skills group for adults 18 and older with diverse abilities. Community outings and special events are planned each month to assist individuals that require low support in the community to become independent. This groups assists with social, recreational and independent skills to allow individuals to create new relationships and have fun out in the community.

Ballroom Dance

Learn a variety of partner dances in the class. Join our experienced instructor as he teaches you to dance. Partners are encouraged, but not required. Fridays 3-4:30 p.m. $12 per person per four-week month or $15 for a five-week month; drop in $3 per class.

Fitness Classes

We offer a variety of fitness classes, from Tai Chi and Yoga to Pilates, Zumba, Move and Groove, Table Tennis and more. We also include a Cardio Line Dance class. An active adult membership and fitness pass are required.

Tot Camp

This day camp is designed for children ages 3-5 who have not yet completed kindergarten. It will be held exclusively at the Mirabelli Community Center. $150/week

Kids Summer Day Camp – ages 5-11 (completed kindergarten)

Campers will travel two times per week with one field trip to a local fun destination and one trip to the swimming pool. Camp activities will include arts and crafts, sports, games, music, life skills, physical fitness and fun, all with trained adult supervision. Space is limited and advance registration is required. Weekly Fee: Varies by location (see above) Administrative fee $25 nonrefundable, per session.

Adaptive Camps at Dula Community Center – ages 5-18

All-inclusive day camps for youth ages 5-21 with diverse abilities. Learn social, leisure and independence skills while having fun with peers. Camp will be held exclusively at Dula Community Center. $100/week.

Teen Summer Camp – ages 11-14

Teen camp offers weekly indoor and outdoor adventures around Southern Nevada. Some locations meet three days per week with daily travel; other camps meet five days per week with 2-3 days of travel. Weekly Fee varies by location.

Counselor-in-Training Program – age 15

The Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program is designed for youth interested in developing strong leadership skills and a sense of community in a seasonal camp environment. Essential camp counselor duties will be introduced in an effort to prepare the CIT participant for future employment opportunities. Development of leadership skills, planning skills, skills to manage children and customer service will be emphasized. Weekly Fee: $40

Registration: April 2 for Session 1 (May and June weeks); April 16 for Session 2 (July and August weeks).

Dates: May 27-Aug. 8, 2025

Fee prorated during holiday weeks; no camp June 19, and July 4.

Locations: Cimarron Rose Community Center, Doolittle Community Center, East Las Vegas Community Center, Mirabelli Community Center, Veterans Memorial Community Center. Please contact the center you’re interested in to schedule an interview. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify. Applications must be submitted to the community center coordinator.

Strong Start Early Learning Academy

Strong Start Early Learning Academy was launched by the city to advocate for and bring awareness to the importance of early childhood education from birth through elementary school, supporting school readiness and grade-level reading.

Strong Start GO!

The Strong Start GO! Mobile Pre-K Academy programs provide families in underserved communities with a unique opportunity to attend a high-quality, early-learning program in their neighborhood. During production, standard RVs are transformed into mobile preschool classrooms, complete with a restroom, learning centers, and traditional preschool furniture and equipment. Strong Start GO! Mobile Pre-K Academies offer half-day preschool programs for children ages 3-5 and focus on the academic, social-emotional and physical development of each child, in addition to providing families with opportunities to engage in their child’s learning. Strong Start GO! Mobile Pre-K Academies serve four locations and a maximum of 30 students per location. Registration is available online only. Youth Neighborhood Association Partnership Program

The Youth Neighborhood Association Partnership Program (YNAPP) provides grants of up to $2,000 for young people to design and lead neighborhood-based, service learning projects. Youth, ages 8-18, can apply for YNAPP funding to positively impact their Las Vegas communities. Eligible participants can come from various organizations, including neighborhood associations, social groups, religious institutions and schools. Project ideas may include, but are not limited to, creating care packages, organizing youth art or mural projects, developing reading initiatives, providing services for people experiencing homelessness, constructing Little Free Libraries, or hosting community cleanups.

Special Events

The Special Events Unit assists local, regional and national event coordinators on permitting, logistics, necessary approvals, and more for any large-scale event that takes places within the city of Las Vegas jurisdiction. We host hundreds of events every year throughout the city to include a monthly First Friday celebration, Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon, Mint 400, The Great Santa Run, spectacular parades and more.

Park Special Events

Parks have the power to build strong and resilient communities, foster healthy environments for all to enjoy and bring our community to life. The Special Events Unit issues permits for the use of park areas and facilities to the general public for recreation activities and programs. A park special event permit is needed when 100 or more people are expected at a park pavilion or picnic shelter, 75 or more are expected at an area other than park pavilion or picnic shelter, or other special event elements are brought into the park. Park special events include weddings, family reunions, farmers markets, music and cultural festivals, company picnics and more.

Picnic Shelter Reservations

Park pavilions are available for groups up to 200 people and cost between $15 — $75 per hour, depending on the size of your group. In addition to shade, some of these areas have large tables and barbecue grills. To reserve a park pavilion or picnic shelter, contact our reservations line at 702.229.6718.

Looking for a theatre, ballroom, wedding location, indoor theater or outdoor amphitheater to host your event? The city has all of those locations and more available. If you are in need of a mobile stage, we also have those available to rent for your event.

Historic Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Spring Hay Barn and Courtyard Gazebo

The historic hay barn is now available for rental. If you are looking for a unique place for a wedding or special event, this is a great new option. The hay barn has an adjacent outdoor gazebo and large fenced grassy area. Email parkspecialevents@lasvegasnevada. gov for more information and rental availability.

A reawakening of classic jazz with a French twist. Starting in Paris in the 1930s, this vintage style of jazz offers flairs of swing and bebop inspired by the genius stylings of Django Reinhardt the namesake of this jazz festival.
