Welcome to the Week 6 Edition of Around the Grounds!

Never a quiet week for GSV! Since last week's newsletter was sent, we have had the annual Reconciliation Round take place (more on this on the next page!) another huge week of over 35 GSV matches take place and the week ends today with the GSV Cross Country Championships taking place!

Good luck to Coach Kate Richardson and the MLC Cross Country Team!

As we head into the second half of Term 2, it is worth noting down that those teams that are in finals contention need to ensure they are free for a full day in Week 9. Pop these dates in the diary!

SS Finals - Mon 15th June, MS Finals - Wed 17th June, JSS Finals Thurs 18th June and Senior AFL Finals - Friday 19th June.

REMINDERS:

So many amazing photos from the annual Reconciliation Match last Friday afternoon!

MLC Senior Firsts and the JSS A team were both involved in great matches against Melbourne Girls Grammar School. The matches were played hard, fair and at a high level. We are very proud of you all for representing MLC and supporting the First nations culture. The Juniors fought out an exciting draw, and the Seniors just went down in a quality contest.

Also a big thank you to the huge crowd came down to cheer them on and support the event.

Term 3 GSV - Sign Up Now Through the MLC Portal Trial Dates: Due to limited space at MLC, please take note of the following information: JSS Badminton Trials will commence a week early (week 8): Year 7s: First trial on Wednesday, June 10th 7am - 8am Year 8s: First trial on Thursday, June 11th 7am - 8am Both trials will be held at the Abbotsford Badminton Club, with specific details to be emailed upon registration next week. Students are expected to meet at the venue, and we will provide bus transportation back to MLC for the school day.

All other trials and the second round for JSS Badminton will occur during Weeks 9 and 10. The complete schedule will be shared next week.

If your current GSV team is competing in finals (Hockey, Netball, or AFL), please prioritise training for your team over your trial for Term 3 sports.

ROUND 6: The below ‘Fixture Summary’ is correct as of Friday 29/5, and is to be read alongside your Microsoft Teams chats or emails from your coaches to confirm your exact team.

This information should also be showing on your myMLC timetable. If you have any questions about which team you are in, please reach out to your coach to confirm or email gilcril@mlc.vic.ed.au
