Habs Girls Senior School
A warm welcome From Dr Hazel Bagworth-Mann Headmistress
We are an academically ambitious school, and we take great pride in what our students achieve, attaining excellent results and moving on to study at leading universities in the UK and around the world. However, exam results and university offers are only one part of the story. We foster a culture of scholarship and intellectual curiosity, encouraging our students to develop a deep love of learning and a genuine passion for their subjects, while becoming confident, critical and independent thinkers. We encourage our students to go beyond traditional classroom learning through a dynamic curriculum and wide range of cocurricular activities and partnerships. These opportunities enable students to develop their character, independence, teamwork and communication skills, while discovering new interests and experiences along the way.
At Habs, our purpose is to empower every student to make a profound impact in the world. We are committed not only to academic excellence, but also to developing students who are independent, resilient and guided by a strong moral compass. We want our students to leave us with the confidence to lead, the courage to challenge and the compassion to make a positive difference. Our values of ambition, curiosity, courage and community are embedded in all we do.
We recognise that every student is different, and we are committed to ensuring that every one feels known, valued and supported. Creating a strong sense of belonging, where every student can flourish, is central to our pastoral ethos. We encourage students to take responsibility and embrace opportunities to lead, whether through sport, music, the arts, CCF or our wide range of partnership programmes. Along the way, they develop their talents, build confidence and learn the value of being part of a strong and supportive community. Through academic excellence, personal growth and a strong sense of community, we prepare our students to leave us with the confidence, character and skills to make a profound impact in the world.

Developing habits for life
Our Habits framework is built around our values of Ambition, Curiosity, Courage and Community. Through 12 dispositions, or habits, students develop the qualities that underpin success in school and beyond, from resilience, initiative, risk-taking and continuous learning to creativity, leadership and collaboration. Embedded throughout our curriculum, co-curricular programme and wider school community, our habits help students become ambitious learners, courageous leaders, curious thinkers and compassionate citizens. We want every student to leave Habs not only having achieved academic success, but equipped with the life-long skills, character and confidence to flourish in whatever path
At Habs, we believe education is about more than achievement; it is about empowering young people to shape the future with confidence, purpose and character. In an ever-changing world, students need the knowledge, skills and mindset to embrace opportunity, navigate challenge and make a positive impact.

Our values We are Habs because of our students and staff, our campus location and our desire for progress. Our roots lie firmly in our philanthropic founding principles and, with our deep sense of purpose in our community, we want to attract and retain talent who want to make a meaningful difference to the world.
Ambition We are bold and ambitious – for ourselves, for others and for the world. This is underpinned by our altruistic and philanthropic foundation, which drives our values and behaviours. We expect everyone to give their best, to stretch boundaries and to challenge the status quo. We believe that ambition can be limitless. When combined with courage, curiosity and community, ambition can be a selfless and powerful lever for change.
6
Curiosity We create and use every opportunity to engage with the world around us; we ask questions, challenge assumptions and express our ideas. Alongside our academic interests and skills, we love to exercise our imaginations, creativity and spirituality. Our broad and carefully curated curriculum leads us into experiences of awe and wonder – bringing a sense of magic and excitement to learning.
Habs Girls Senior School
One of the best academic girls’ schools around – and it has caught up pastorally too. Innovation prioritised since our last visit, as well as more co-ed options – both testament to the school’s promise to prepare these confident, likeable young women for an ever-changing world. Feels close-knit despite the large size. - GOOD SCHOOLS GUIDE
Courage Exploring beyond our comfort zones enables us to become more self-aware, adventurous, resilient and independent. We aim high, following our dreams but we cope well if we do not always succeed. We understand how to balance humility and boldness when speaking out on behalf of ourselves and others and we are unflinching problem-solvers, continually seeking to change the world for the better.
Community Habs is one caring, respectful community on one fabulous campus. Beyond our students and staff, this sense of collaborative togetherness extends to our families, alumni, partner schools, the Haberdashers’ Company and schools and even the world. Our focus is on belonging, inclusivity and celebrating our differences. We are learning from and working with wider communities – locally, nationally and globally. We bring the world to our door, but we also step through that door into the wider world. 7

Habs Girls Junior School
A warm welcome From Mrs Claire Brown Head of Junior School
Our school values of Ambition, Curiosity, Courage and Community are woven into every aspect of school life. Our Years 3 to 6 Diploma provides purposeful framework for this journey. It includes the Independent Project Qualification in Year 5 and the Independent Project Research in Year 6, giving our girls valuable opportunities developing independence, research skills and intellectual curiosity. Our curriculum is dynamic and ambitious, providing every girl with exciting, and meaningful experiences in and beyond the classroom. We encourage girls to take risks, ask questions, investigate and explore, fostering curiosity. We nurture well-rounded individuals who are academically ambitious while developing their passions for sport, music and the arts. Learning extends far beyond the classroom. We offer outstanding outdoor learning through our Forest School, outdoor tipi and wildwood den. Here, girls engage in hands-on activities that develop teamwork, problem-solving, independence and resilience, while fostering an appreciation of the natural world. Pastoral care is at the heart of all we do. Every girl is known, valued and cared for as an individual. We teach our girls to care for one another and understand their role within our diverse community.
Our purpose at Habs Junior School is to provide girls with an academically outstanding education, filled with awe and wonder, that prepares them for the next stage of their educational journey. Through our Habits curriculum we equip our girls with the skills, character and confidence to thrive in an ever-changing world. We nurture resilience, empathy, creativity, problemsolving and leadership. Above all, we seek to instil a genuine love of learning, encouraging curiosity, ambition and a desire to achieve academic excellence.
We know girls thrive when schools and families work in partnership, which is why we place great importance on our relationship with parents. Throughout the year, we offer many opportunities for our parent community to come together, from Family Fridays to performances, sporting events and other celebrations. While our girls are taught in a single-sex environment, being part of a co-educational campus, provides opportunities for collaboration with Habs Boys Prep and Pre-Prep School. From planetarium visits to lunchtime music concerts, these shared experiences foster friendship, collaboration and learning. By combining a genuine love of learning, with exceptional pastoral care and a broad co-curricular programme, we equip our girls for the next stage of their educational journey and, inspire them to make a profound impact in the world.
