WELCOME TO AROUND THE GROUNDS Why does MLC value competing in GSV sport each week?

Good question!

It is well documented, that engaging in sports helps improve physical health, fosters teamwork, and builds discipline. It also boosts confidence and resilience, providing girls with a sense of achievement and belonging. Additionally, participating in sports teaches valuable life skills, such as leadership and time management, which are essential for personal and academic success.

The students across all teams are currently inthe process of giving their speeches and electing their Team Captains! Congratulations if YOU have been chosen to lead your term in Term 2!

NETBALL

IMPORTANT REMINDERS: It is important that your attend both Training and Matches each week. We suggest you add these to your diaries and planning (and communicate these to your parents) so you can make appointments and get your homework or study done around your GSV commitments.

As a reminder these are the current training and match times: JSS Netball - Train Monday Lunch, Tuesday 7am or Wednesday Lunch, Play Thursday after school JSS Football - Train Wed after school, Play Thursday after school JSS Hockey - Train Tuesday 7am, Play Thursday after school MS Netball - Train Monday 7am, Play Wednesday after school MS Hockey - Train Monday 7am, Play Wednesday after school 9-12 Football - Train Tuesday after school, Play Friday after school SS Netball - Train Wednesday 7am, Play Monday after school SS Hockey - Train Wednesday 7am, Play Monday after school

PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK

Performance of the week goes to the JSS B Hockey Team!

There are many players new to the sport in this team, and they have all been training hard and learning the rules of the game.

This week they pulled off an amazing 3 to Nil win even playing a few players short!

Well done girls!!

Be sure to continually check your Teams message group for the most up to date information regarding training, fixturing, matches and departure times.

This is also the best contact point to reach your coaches to let them know of any absences for training or matches.
