HOCKEY WELCOME TO TERM 2 GSV!

Welcome to Week 4 of GSV for Term 2!

It is a HUGE week ahead for GSV Sport!

Tuesday 19th will see 90 MLC students compete in the GSV Preliminary Round of the GSV Cross Country and on Friday 22nd we host Melbourne Girls Grammar School in the annual Indigenous Round as part of Reconciliation Week.

REMINDERS: JSS AFL “A Team” Playing on Friday, Not Thursday A reminder that, as per the email sent earlier this week and the coach's communication with the team, the JSS Junior A team will not be playing at their usual time of Thursday at 4 PM. Instead, they will face MGGS in a match on Friday as part of the Indigenous Round.

INDIGENOUS ROUND MLC started the event in 2024 with hundreds of students, parents and friends turning out to cheer on MLC’s Senior 1sts. The event is an important way for MLC to acknowledge our First Nations students and leads into the College-wide acknowledge of Reconciliation Week. This year, we are excited to add the Junior A team to the event so we can have both teams competing against Melbourne Girls Grammar together.

When: Friday 22 May Where: Xavier College What: Official Ceremonies and Acknowledgement of Country will begin from 3.50pm.

Matches are to commence at 4.10pm with an expected finish time of 5.10pm.

This is a memorable event on the MLC sporting calendar. We encourage as many family and friends to attend these matches as possible to cheer on the mighty MLC teams!

Commitment to GSV and Your Team It is crucial to commit to your team for the season. This involves consistently attending training sessions and matches, as your presence impacts your team's player numbers. Unfortunately, some teams have faced challenges this week due to no-shows or last-minute withdrawals, leaving them short for their games.

Please make every effort to attend; your team relies on you! Schedule any appointments around GSV fixtures and communicate any illness early (preferably before midday).

If your attendance is being tracked for GSV and you do not show up without a valid explanation, your parents will be informed of your unexplained absence.

If you no longer wish to participate in GSV this term, please notify us. Send an email to gilcril@mcl.vic.edu.au so we can remove you from the team lists and inform your coach.

ROUND 4: The below ‘Fixture Summary’ is correct as of Friday 15/5, and is to be read alongside your Microsoft Teams chats or emails from your coaches to confirm your exact team.
