WELCOME TO AROUND THE GROUNDS A short week ahead for GSV Sport with Monday and Tuesday having no fixtured matches or training due to the Melbourne Cup Long Weekend.

We hope you enjoy the mini midterm break and come back excited for a big finish to the GSV season!

The matches that are fixtured for Round 4 are MS Basketball and Touch Football on Wednesday and JSS Basketball, Touch Football and Cricket on Thursday.

With the warmer weather coming (hopefully!) just a reminder for all players to bring a hat and water bottle and pop on some sunscreen.

LATEST GSV NEWS: 🏆

SS B GRADE PREMIERS! Wednesday afternoon saw MLC take out our first PREMIERSHIP for Term 4. In a reduced, 2 game per week season, the MLC Senior B Team showed great commitment and teamwork to make the final!

Congratulations to Coach Mr Murphy and his team of superstars!

FIXTURES, LADDERS & FORFEITS...

As we move through the season it is worth noting your fixtures and ladders can be found here: https://www.gsv.vic.edu.au/weekly-sports/ and your weekly team match should also be showing on your myMLC timetable.

Due to the way the GSV organises their fixtures, as well as the fact that MLC has the largest number of teams of all the schools, we unfortunately end up getting extra byes or forfeits across the term. We strive to play as many matches and have as many students involved as possible each week, but we sometimes have teams missing out. We apologise for this but want you all to know we are working hard behind the scenes to minimise this as much as we can.

ATTENDANCE & COMMITMENT: Another reminder that if you have committed to a GSV team sport you are expected to participate for the full season. Attendance has been better, and a big thank you to all those sending though notice early of sickness or injury. Remember any unexplained absences, or ‘no-shows’ will result in an email home.

UNIFORM BLITZ: Overall last week we saw an improvement in correct uniform for GSV. Thank you to all those that made improvements. We are striving for 100% compliance, so the uniform blitz is still in place. It is expected that all students uphold the high standards MLC sets and look the part we play the other schools.

Remember: No coloured house tops or tracksuit pants, and for basketball you must have a numbered jersey. The PE staff would also like to remind you all that bike shorts are NOT acceptable as PE uniform and your MLC Sports shorts must be worn in PE.

FINAL NOTES: Be sure to continually check your Teams message group for the most up to date information regarding training, fixturing, matches and departure times.

This is also the best contact point to reach your coaches to let them know of any absences for training or matches.
