CONSERVATION CORNER Here Comes Spring!

Spring is in the air and you may find yourself outside doing a bit of yard work. I know my yard sure needs a clean-up after February’s storms. And my kids love pulling weeds. (That last part may or may not be true.)

Since up to 70% of household water is used outdoors, here are a few tips to help you save water outside the home:

• Use a broom instead of a hose to clean patios, sidewalks and driveways. This simple move can save up to 80 gallons each time.

• Check outdoor faucets, pipes, emitters, and hoses for leaks.

• Use a nozzle on your garden hose to control the output.

• Use a Smart Irrigation Controller.

Spring Fling - Save the Date - Saturday, April 20, 2024! Your Water & Lake Management and Recreation Committees are working on a fun-filled springtime event, complete with the return of the Dobson Ranch Garden Tour. Stay tuned for more information.

For now, happy spring and Keep Calm and Conserve Water!
