About Me

Why Issuu?

Hi My name is Dmytro. You can call me Dima :-)

Because:

I am Ukrainian. I grew up in Kharkiv - 2nd largest city in Ukraine, located in the northeast of the country. When I was a kid I attended a lot of different activities. To name a few: football, ballroom dances, guitar, painting classes, figure skating, etc. My favorite subjects at school were geography, mathematics, and informatics. I liked computers, so when it came time to choose my professional path, I decided to take education in Computer Science field. In 2006 I graduated from Kharkiv National University of Radio-Electronics and obtained a Master's degree in Computer and Network Security.

• Technology (Kubernetes, AWS). I am DevOps enthusiast and I want to work more with Cloud • Want to lead not only Infrastructure/DevOps teams but also development teams • I thrive in culturally diverse environments • I like the size of the company. I believe with this size it is easier to make and notice the impact of your work. • It is a place where I can grow professionally • Issuu has great people on board. Some of them I met during hiring process

In 2014 I was relocated with my family to Copenhagen. And since then we live in this beautiful city.

What you can expect from me? I am an empathetic and service-minded person with deep technological expertise. My biggest joy is to help my colleagues grow.

What makes me special? I see myself as a catalyst who amplifies the potential of others. I work with individuals' strengths, and when needed help to overcome obstacles. And on top of it, I bring a lot of energy and positive thinking.

Favorite music and why? Some of my favorite bands are: Imagine Dragons, Nirvana, Placebo, Radiohead, Fatboy Slim, Blink-182, Sum 41, The Prodigy. (by this list you probably can figure out my age:-)) On top of it I like energetic music, which makes me dance. I can easily start dancing when I hear "Billie Jean" of Michael Jackson :-) or any Rock & Roll music. I also listen to a lot of Ukrainian music. To name a few Ukrainian bands I like to listen: • "GO_A" • "KALUSH" • "ONUKA"

And in addition I really like to listen to Podcasts. Two my favorite Podcasts are: • "Darknet Diaries" by Jack Rhysider • "Freakonomics Radio"

My family and a fish:-)

I live with my family at Teglholmen. This area is just 12 minutes bike ride from the ISSUU office. You can see our family at this photo, taken during our trip to beautiful island of Bornholm. My delightful family consists of my amazing wife Natasha and 2 sons: Vlad (10 years old) and Adrian (almost 3 years old). We like to spend time together. Our favorite family activity at home is dancing. We dance a lot under "Imagine Dragons" music. According to Spotify this year our family top song was "Cha Cha Cha" of Kåårijå.

Home pets The only pet we have at home is a fish :-) Like this one on a picture.

What are your hobbies? Reading

Running

I like to read books about leadership, culture, history, self-development, and autobiographies.

I like to run outdoors. If I go somewhere on a business trip or for a leisure I usually take my running gear, as I like to explore new places by running around.

Any fun fact about you?

Before moving to Denmark I spent more than a year just on my business trips to Denmark. And most of the time I was staying in shared apartments with my colleagues. Each time someone new was arriving I was taking good care of them: • • • •

meeting at airport preparing good welcome dinner with drinks sorting out all practicalities going on a tour with them around Copenhagen

So at some point, my collegues started to call me “Mama Dima” ("Mother Dima") as they always felt like at home.
