DMU KTP (Knowledge Transfer Partnership) Project updates

DMU currently has six live KTP projects. The management KTP with FABRIC CIO and Hui Man Chan and Sally Doughty has begun as we have onboarded our new KTP associate, Ebenezer Apata. All the other projects are progressing well and our KTP with Genvolt and Prof Zeeshan Ahmad has now entered its final quarter.

Accelerated Knowledge Transfer (AKT)

We are pleased to announce that all seven AKTs have passed the threshold set by Innovate UK (IUK). The call received over 500 applications. IUK had a limited pot of funding and therefore despite many projects passing the threshold IUK have only been able to fund 177 projects. As a result, four of our projects have received funding and will be beginning in the next few weeks. The projects are one in CEM with Dr Andrew Wright and Marlow Foods (t/a Quorn Foods) and three in HLS with Prof Zeeshan Ahmad and Genvolt, Dr Urszula Krzeminska Ahmadzai and Alpha Bio Labs and Prof Geoff Smith and Micron Design.

Well start

KE events

Innovate UK ICURe (Innovation-to-Commercialisation of University Research) is a pre-accelerator programme for researchers, designed to help explore commercial application and potential. There is a range of funding and commercialisation training with industry experts delivered through ICURe’s 4 key programmes: Engage, Discover, Explore and Exploit (see below image for an overview of the 4 programmes)

Through the programmes researchers have the opportunity to define their proposition and test this with prospective target markets.

To find out more about the ICURe programmes join us at this session with Paul Edwards, Head of Hub – Midlands Region on Thursday, 7 March, 11am-12pm at the Innovation Centre, with open access to all academic colleagues.
