FINAL EXHIBITION FOUNDATION DIPLOMA IN ART AND DESIGN

I am very excited to showcase final student work from the Foundation Diploma in Art & Design 2025. This catalogue celebrates the hard work and boundless creativity of our most recent students. I am delighted to see that this year the work is not only of top quality but is highly individual in both style and concept. As a body of work, it is strongly representative of the ethos of this unique pre-degree diagnostic programme. It serves as a snapshot of the students’ work and ideas at this key transitional point before they leap into undergraduate study, employment or professional practice, and I trust you’ll agree that whatever their destination, their future is very bright indeed.

Huge thanks to Matt Evans (@mattevansdesign) who designed this catalogue, himself an alumnus of the Foundation course! And to the photographers Nigel Essex and Will Allen for providing the images.
Thanks to the DMU print centre for all their hard work and support. Huge thanks to the Foundation staff Lucie, Mark, Andrea, Will, Lorna, Heather, John and Saranne for inspiring the students all year and curating the wonderful end-of-year show.
Enormous gratitude to all our amazing technicians who ensure that students leave the course in possession of new skills, techniques and practical solutions to realizing all their crazy thoughts.
Thanks to the brilliant support of Daniel Cowlam & Michaela Hawes, and to Anna Wang for helping to make our final show a huge success. Special thanks for Lorraine Jones our FE coordinator / Foundation administrator and the ADH Admin team. Gratitude to Jill Cowley, Haley Morris-Cafiero and Stuart Lawson for their support for the course and its relationship to the faculty undergraduate portfolio.
And finally, thanks to the students for being prepared to be challenged, make mistakes, discover new methods of making & thinking, and to starting a lifelong love of learning.
