“‘Shifting Lights’ is a collection intended to boost people’s mood and wellbeing by introducing bright colours into home interiors. My passion for colour is the forefront of my design process, I take inspiration from the natural world as well as colour trend research to formulate colour palettes. I use yarn dyeing as a tool to convey mood throughout my designs, particularly ombre warp dyeing which creates flow in the weaves. My final major project allowed me to thoroughly explore my love of colour whilst giving me the opportunity to challenge myself technically and creatively.”

“My personal history is a mix of living in China, Mexico and England and this has given me an appreciation of, and openness to, new ideas from other cultures which have influenced my work. I have explored tessellation for my designs as it forms the basis for many traditional patterns from different cultures. Through my understanding of the rules of tessellation, I have then been able to experiment and make variations to form my own style. My outputs are geared towards interior design products, from wallpaper to curtains, cushions and bedding and I prefer working in a bright colour palette.”

“Aphrodite: The Goddess of Love & Beauty’ An elegant collection of bridal wear designs that explores the floral beauty of the Greek Goddess, incorporating elements of structure inspired by classic Georgian architecture such as that found in Basildon House and Gardens. My passion for sustainability is shown using eco-friendly materials and 100% recycled threads to create this collection. With a focus on embellishment and subtle use of colour my love for delicate details is combined with elements of drama that is portrayed through the means of digital embroidery, beading and fabric manipulation techniques to successfully capture the embodiment of Aphrodite.”
