Coronavirus Frequently Asked Questions The COVID-19 (Coronavirus) crisis is an unprecedented event and we are all trying our best to plan for what is going to happen next.

Auden Living is working tirelessly to ensure that our dedicated on-site teams and residents are well informed and equipped to deal with any issues that may occur.

We would like to assure you that our aim is to provide a level of service wherever possible, ensuring that you are comfortable in your home.

We have received many questions from our residents and thought that we would bring these together in a single Frequently Asked Questions document, which is set out below.

As we are sure that you can appreciate, this is an evolving situation and we will therefore be updating this document as necessary. Please remember that you can view the latest health advice here.

I/my roommate is feeling unwell. What should I do?

If you are feeling ill, please follow the following steps here. In addition, please inform Auden Living staff immediately.

I am feeling stressed/worried/anxious.

What can I do?

It is important to take care of your mental as well as physical health and seek support if needed. You can keep in touch with your family and friends over phone or via social media.

There are also sources of support and information that can help if you have worries, anxiety and other types of concerns here.

I am self-isolating but I need to take regular medication and I need a refill.

Please call your physician or pharmacist to ask for advice or to arrange a delivery.

My roommate is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 and is not following advice to stay at home.

Please remind them of the CDC guidelines. If this does not work, please also let Auden Living staff know and we will contact them in order to remind them of official government guidelines.

Answer

I am/my roommate is in isolation but there is urgent maintenance work that needs repairing in our apartment.

Please continue to report issues via phone, email or through our resident portal on your property’s website.

My roommate is unwell and is self-isolating. Do I need to self-isolate too?

Yes. According to the current guidance provided by the CDC, you should also stay at home for a period of fourteen days.

We will ensure that appropriate action is taken to remedy the issue as soon as possible.

If you are well, you are also recommended to remain at least 6 feet apart from anyone displaying symptoms.

Will Auden communities stay open?

Yes. Auden Communities will remain open and our priority is to provide students with a healthy environment that is conducive to their academic success.

What are you doing to clean communal areas?

We are sanitizing and cleaning our common areas, hallways, amenity rooms and offices daily. We are remaining compliant with state, local, and federal mandates and following the best practices to limit the spread of COVID-19.

Why aren’t you holding events anymore?

Given the current circumstances and guidelines on social distancing, we will not be organizing any in-person social events for the foreseeable future.

When will the leasing office reopen for regular business hours?

Currently, the leasing office is closed until government regulations allow reopening.

However, we are working remotely and we are always accessible by email.

I want to cancel/move out early. Do I still have to pay rent?

These are incredibly worrying times, and we do understand why students may wish to move out of their accommodations. While these are unprecedented circumstances, our existing cancellation policy continues to apply. We understand the difficulties this may cause.

However, as most universities are continuing to run teaching online, our residents can continue to live in their student homes, where they can access high-speed broadband and support from our team members.

Am I at risk for COVID-19 from mail, packages or products?

Coronavirus is thought to be spread most often by respiratory droplets. Although the virus can survive for a short period on some surfaces, it is unlikely to be spread from domestic or international mail, products or packaging.

Can I get COVID-19 from my pets?

At this time, there is no evidence that animals play a significant role in spreading the virus that causes COVID19. Based on the limited information available to date, the risk of animals spreading COVID-19 to people is considered to be low.

Do I need to get my pet tested for COVID-19?

No. At this time, routine testing of animals for COVID19 is not recommended.
