Life's Life's Reflections Reflections Christopher George Taylor was born to Arthur Lee Sr. and Katherine Vaughn-Taylor on June 4, 1975. From the moment Chris entered this world, he commanded the room with his exuberant personality and ingenious imagination. Whether pranking or recounting a story and not leaving one detail out, Chris had a way of getting a gut-wrenching laugh out of everyone, especially with his infamous impersonations. A wordsmith of sorts, he would create his own phrases, words, and terms of endearment. He gave everyone a nickname, "GuiGui," being the most popular and loved.

A Kansas City, Kansas native, Chris was honored to hail from "the Dotte." He attended Chelsea Elementary and Northwest Middle School and was a proud graduate of Wyandotte High School Class of 1993. In high school, he was the starting Varsity Quarterback that always cracked jokes in the huddle, but when it came to time play, No. 12 meant business. His skills on the field earned him a full-ride football scholarship to Fort Scott Community College, where he attended until enlisting in the United States Army in 1995.

He served until 2001, completed multiple deployments, and was heavily decorated for his service and bravery.

Many may not know, but Chris had a beautiful voice. He held the tenor note down in "The Taylor Three," a group his mother created during her tenure as District Missionary. He loved music and "good singing," as he called it. His favorite instrument was the saxophone, which he was delighted to play in the Northwest Band and could often be caught "air playing" well into his adult years.

Chris loved people and could talk to anyone, never meeting a stranger! No matter what walk of life you had, he found a place in his heart for all. Some would say Chris was an old soul as he was fond of the elderly and was great with children. Kids loved him!

Although his welcoming hospitality and kindness often drew you in, the food likely kept you there. He was an excellent chef and master griller and expressed his love through cooking; how befitting that he was affectionately known as "Meals" to many.

After discharging honorably from the military, Chris returned to Kansas City in 2001. He spent the remainder of his career working in the manufacturing industry. In his spare time, you could find him fishing, bowling, and supporting his favorite teams, the KU Jayhawks and Kansas City Chiefs. A family man, he loved fellowship with family and friends.

In 2011, he married Pamela Lindsey, and they shared nine loving years. That union blessed him with a wonderful son-in-love, John John.

A man of his word, Chris always said he wanted to live in Oklahoma, and he did just that. That is where he resided until he departed this life on November 9, 2022.

He is preceded in death by his parents, maternal Grandparents Willie C. Jr. and Legusta Campbell-Vaughn; paternal Grandparents Arthur Lee Taylor and Captola House; brothers Charles H. Taylor and Arthur Lee Taylor Jr.; and sister Frances Ruth Thomas.

Christopher leaves to cherish his memory siblings: Captola Taylor Harris, Kansas City, KS; Joan E. (Wardell) Walker, Kansas City, MO; Grayling X. (Patricia) Taylor, Lee's Summit, MO, Vaughn Desmond Taylor, I (KaTrena), Kansas City, MO, James D. Green, Riverside, CA, Janeé M. Taylor (Ernest) and LaKatherine M. Taylor, former wife Pamela Lindsey-Taylor, son-in-love John Lindsey Jr. and goddaughter Journee M. Gillespie all of Kansas City, KS along with a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.

A loyal friend and brother to all who knew him. How blessed we were to have you, which makes it difficult to say goodbye. Forever in our hearts, Christopher "Meals" Taylor.
