DL-arch is a Milan-based Italian-Israeli architecture and design studio founded by Simone Dell’Ariccia and Yael Leibovitch. What guides the studio’s design is “Reasoned Architecture”, rooted in a passion for clean aesthetics, functional simplicity, and material exploration.
Led by Federico Amarena, Amarena Ingegneria based in Potenza, in the south of Italy, specializes in engineering-driven design solutions that integrate structural innovation with artistic sensibility.
Our collaboration is a shared vision of elegance, precision, and purpose.

In every project we develop, every design choice must have a reason. The search for this reason is at the core of our creative process, allowing us to craft solutions that not only meet functional requirements but also enhance the environmental and social context in which they exist.
This pursuit of reason sets in motion a compositional process where each answer helps shape and refine the project. Our approach ensures that every element within a space has a clear and rational purpose, avoiding arbitrary or inconsistent decisions. Even when aesthetic intuition precedes logic, Reasoned Architecture seeks to understand the underlying rationale behind those intuitive choices. We believe that architecture must adhere to a rigorous and rational framework, where beauty and logic are inseparable.

Il Salone del Mobile is the physical space where products and new design languages come together in dialogue. It is the place where design takes center stage and finds its voice. This year, we are thrilled to be part of this conversation, presenting a collection inspired by the concepts of balance, suspension, and discovery. We believe that design should evoke curiosity, fostering interaction between people and the objects that surround them.

SKIZZA is inspired by a spontaneous gesture: the movement that accompanies the creative process of drawing or sketching. Naturally, one leans forward, getting closer to the paper while rocking on the seat.
This chair celebrates that movement, turning the rocking motion into its main feature. It plays with unstable balance, inviting the user to find their own rhythm and transforming a natural gesture into a mindful experience.
When not in use, the chair becomes a sculptural object, disguising its function behind pure and minimalist forms. To reveal its purpose, the user must engage with it, exploring its possibilities and creating a dynamic dialogue between body and object.

Oak wood was chosen for its strength, durability, and rich natural texture, making it the perfect material for SKIZZA’s cube-shaped seat. Its sturdy structure and resilience ensures longlasting performance, while its warm, organic grain provides a striking contrast to the sleek, industrial aesthetic of the aluminum.
Aluminum serves as the finishing material for the cylindrical base of SKIZZA, playing a crucial role in its transformation from a static form to a dynamic rocking seat. Its lightweight yet strong properties ensure smooth movement and stability while creating a visual and textural contrast with the solid oak cube. The metallic sheen of aluminum enhances the seat’s modern aesthetic, emphasizing the fusion of engineering and artistry that defines SKIZZA’s design

SKIZZA is the centerpiece of our collection, designed in collaboration with engineer Federico Amarena. Its development involved cutting-edge mechanical engineering programming to meticulously calculate mass distribution and balance points. Using advanced software, we analyzed the weight and dimensions of each material, ensuring that the seat remains in perfect equilibrium when not in use.
What makes SKIZZA truly unique is its innovative counterweight system, allowing for two distinct configurations. In its idle state, it presents itself as a sculptural, three-dimensional form—an artistic statement within any space. When engaged, the seat seamlessly rotates under the user’s weight, transforming into a comfortable and functional seating experience. This fusion of engineering precision and aesthetic design makes SKIZZA more than just a seat—it is a dynamic, interactive piece of modern design.

PIRAMIDE is a collection of striking tables that redefine the relationship between geometry, balance, and materiality. From dining to coffee and side tables, each piece is built around the concept of a wooden pyramid standing on its tip, enclosed within a transparent glass box. This interplay of solid and void creates an illusion of suspension, where the wooden pyramids appear to float, emphasizing their sculptural presence. By combining the warmth of oak with the lightness of glass, PIRAMIDE transforms functional surfaces into artistic statements, merging precision engineering with timeless craftsmanship.

The PIRAMIDE dining table is a bold statement piece featuring two pyramidshaped pedestals—one resting on its base and the other inverted on its tip—supporting a wooden tabletop. This configuration creates a dynamic equilibrium, as the pyramids appear to balance the surface in perfect tension. Enclosed within a glass frame, the table becomes an architectural centerpiece, blending sculptural elegance with functional design.
Expanding on the concept, the collection also includes elliptical tables and conical pedestals, playing with variations in form while maintaining the same principles of balance and enclosure. These versions offer a softer, more fluid interpretation of the geometric theme, introducing new dimensions to the visual and structural language of PIRAMIDE.

In the coffee and side table variations, a singular pyramid takes center stage, standing on its tip with the base serving as the tabletop. These tables vary in height and proportions, adapting to different spaces while maintaining the signature geometric language of the collection. The glass enclosure enhances the perception of weightlessness, making the wooden pyramid appear as if it were floating within an invisible frame.

Oak wood is the foundation of PIRAMIDE’s design, providing strength, stability, and a natural warmth that contrasts with the sharp transparency of glass. Its grain and sturdy structure highlight the purity of geometric forms while ensuring durability. Whether as a singular pyramid base or as part of a larger structural composition, the oak elements create a tactile connection to the organic materiality of wood, grounding the design in nature.
Glass plays a crucial role in PIRAMIDE, acting as both a protective enclosure and a medium that enhances the perception of space and form. Its transparency allows the wooden pyramids to remain the focal point, while the smooth, reflective surfaces add depth and lightness. By encapsulating the oak structures, the glass creates an interplay of solidity and void, reinforcing the sense of balance and precision in the collection.

X-GON is a dynamic table that plays with contrast, perception, and materiality.
Designed as a hexagonal extrusion with a glass top, its unique structure creates an ever-changing visual effect as the viewer moves around it. Three faces of the hexagon feature copper on the exterior and black steel on the interior, while the other three reverse this relationship—black steel on the outside, copper on the inside. This alternating pattern, combined with the transparency of the glass, gives X-GON a chameleon-like quality, appearing to shift colors and materials depending on the angle of view. More than just a table, X-GON is an interactive sculptural piece, capable of being customized in various finishes and materials to suit different environments and design aesthetics.

As the unifying element of the design, glass allows for full visibility of X-GON’s internal contrasts. Its transparency highlights the interplay of copper and black steel while giving the table a floating, lightweight appearance. The hexagonal glass top enhances the table’s clean, geometric aesthetic.
Strong, sleek, and industrial, black steel brings a sense of depth and solidity to X-GON. Whether finished in matte or polished textures, it serves as a visual counterpart to the copper. This enhances the table’s geometric precision, reinforcing its bold presence in any space.

Copper adds warmth, sophistication, and a sense of craftsmanship to X-GON. Its natural luster creates a striking contrast against the dark steel. The reflective nature of copper also interacts with light, emphasizing the table’s ever-changing appearance.
X-GON is designed for efficiency in both production and transport. The table is composed of six identical hexagonal panels, allowing for streamlined manufacturing and reduced material waste. These panels are connected through hidden hinges with minimal screw points on the internal edges, making assembly seamless while ensuring structural integrity. This modular construction allows X-GON to be completely disassembled, flattening into a compact form for easy shipping, storage, and handling. Once assembled, the glass top is placed securely on the structure, completing the piece. This smart design not only enhances X-GON’s visual appeal but also makes it highly practical for both manufacturers and users.
