A GUIDE TO GIVING
GETTING INVOLVED
A MESSAGE FROM OUR HEAD OF SCHOOL Dear Donna Klein Community, For almost 50 years, Donna Klein Jewish Academy has been strengthened by people who believe in the power of a Jewish education and invest in its future. From the families who helped establish our school to those who sustain it today, generations of parents, grandparents, alumni and friends have given their time, talents, and resources to help DKJA thrive. At the heart of this tradition is a Jewish value we want every student to carry with them: tikkun olam, our responsibility to help make the world better. We teach our students that each of us can make a difference and that, when we come together around something we believe in, our collective impact can be extraordinary. That spirit is at the heart of We Are DKJA. The strength of our school has never belonged to one person or one generation. It belongs to all of us who believe in our students, our mission and the future we are building together. I am deeply grateful to the many people who give of themselves to DKJA, and I am inspired by what is possible when we come together. Your support helps us provide the exceptional academic and Jewish educational experience our students deserve and ensures that DKJA continues to thrive for generations to come. Thank you for being part of We Are DKJA and for helping shape the future of our school. With gratitude,
Helena Levine Head of School
a tradition that unites us DKJA is more than a school. It is a community built by generations of alumni, parents, grandparents, faculty, and community partners who believe in the power of a Jewish education. Like leading nonprofit Jewish day schools and other private schools, DKJA relies on philanthropy to provide opportunities that extend beyond tuition and support the people, programs, and experiences that distinguish a DKJA education.
ways to give THE DKJA ANNUAL FUND The Annual Fund is DKJA’s top fundraising priority. Gifts provide flexible resources that allow us to fuel innovation, enrich our classrooms, and respond nimbly to our community’s evolving needs. We invite every family to make a tax-deductible donation and participate at a level meaningful to them. Our campaign launches each fall during DKJA Giving Week, but the Annual Fund supports DKJA throughout the year as we work toward 100% community participation.
Annual Fund Areas of Impact Through DKJA’s Annual Fund, donors may direct their contributions to an area that is most meaningful to them. • Schoolwide Priorities: Strengthen the people, programs, and places that make DKJA exceptional, including innovative learning spaces and technology, signature programs, faculty professional development, experiential learning opportunities, and a safe and secure campus. • Athletics: Empower student-athletes to develop leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence through exceptional coaching, equipment, programs, facility enhancements, and opportunities to compete as proud DKJA Eagles. • The Arts: Inspire creativity, self-expression, and discovery through theater, dance, music, and visual arts while giving students opportunities to develop their talents, explore their passions, and find their voices. • Financial Assistance: Help ensure that a DKJA education remains accessible to families who need support and enable students to participate fully in the DKJA experience, including the Shabbaton, Israel trip, and service-learning opportunities. • Jewish Life, Israel & Learning: Deepen students’ connection to their Jewish identity, Hebrew, Israel, and Jewish values through traditions, learning, and immersive experiences while fostering a strong sense of belonging and commitment to tikkun olam.
THE DKJA GALA The DKJA Annual Gala is our community’s signature fundraising event, bringing together parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends for an unforgettable evening in support of our school. Sponsorships, donations, and participation help strengthen the programs, opportunities, and experiences that make DKJA’s nationally recognized program distinctive.
CAPITAL, ENDOWMENT & PLANNED GIVING Capital & Endowment Giving Capital and endowment gifts help shape DKJA’s future and advance the school’s long-term strategic priorities. Capital gifts support construction, campus enhancements, and other transformational initiatives, while endowment gifts provide lasting resources to sustain the school for generations to come.
OneDKJA: L’Dor V’Dor Campaign This transformational campaign supports academic excellence, artistic expression, athletic growth, leadership development, and the vitality of Jewish life. The first phase of this campaign began in 2025 in conjunction with the school’s 2025-2030 Strategic Plan and will continue through 2030. Your support helps DKJA provide an exceptional educational experience for today’s students while building a strong foundation for generations to come.
Planned Giving Planned gifts, including bequests and estate provisions, allow donors to create a lasting legacy at DKJA while supporting their families’ needs and financial goals.

get involved WAYS TO SHARE YOUR TIME & TALENT Being part of We Are DKJA is about more than financial support. Every member of our community has something to contribute. Here are some of the ways you can share your time, talents, and connections. Join the PTO The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is an active and valued partner in the DKJA community. Through volunteerism and community-building initiatives, the PTO strengthens connections among families and the school and coordinates social events, community support programs, and volunteer opportunities throughout the year. To learn more about PTO volunteer opportunities, contact Courtney Frost and Amy Sobel, PTO co-presidents, at dkjapto@gmail.com.
Admissions Ambassador Network Our parents are some of our greatest ambassadors! Through the Admissions Ambassador Network, in partnership with the PTO’s Sunshine Committee, parents can help prospective families experience the warmth, community, and spirit of DKJA firsthand. Parent Ambassadors may welcome prospective families at events, connect with families considering DKJA, share their experiences, host or participate in community gatherings, and help prospective families feel a genuine sense of belonging from their first interaction with our school. To learn more about getting involved, contact Denise Turner, Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management, at turnerd@dkja.net.
We choose to give back to DKJA because of all it has given our families. DKJA is our second home, and we’re honored to give our time and energy to help ensure every family feels that same sense of belonging and community.” — Amy Sobel and Courtney Frost, PTO co-presidents
DKJA Alumni DKJA is committed to keeping its alumni connected to one another and to DKJA by creating opportunities to build relationships, expand professional networks, and stay engaged with our school community. • Join the DKJA Alumni Association to receive news, invitations, and opportunities to get involved. • Connect with us online through Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. • Share your news. Whether you have started a new job, earned a promotion, gotten married, welcomed a new baby or celebrated another milestone, we want to hear from you. • Send us your photos. When you gather with fellow DKJA alumni, capture the moment and share it with us. • Come back and see what’s new! We welcome alumni back to campus for a tour, a walk down memory lane, and a chance to see how DKJA continues to grow and evolve. To submit news or photos or learn more about getting involved, contact Susie Jackowitz, Director of Community Engagement, at jackowitzs@dkja.net.
Art GOATS! Parents and grandparents can become Art GOATS! docents and bring the world of great artists into K–8 classrooms. Volunteers learn about a “Greatest of All Time” artist and lead an engaging classroom experience that includes a hands-on art activity. No art or teaching experience is necessary. Just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm! Art GOATS! volunteers may also participate in hands-on evening workshops led by DKJA’s arts faculty. Contact Allie Hasson at hassona@dkja.net for more information.
