Hey Peacocks! It's crazy to think that this will be the last newsletter of this term. I’d like to start by saying that I have been honored to have been able to serve this division for the 2019-2020 term. Although we may not have met a lot of our goals, many clubs grew tremendously during this term and that’s truly all I could have asked for. This term has brought me many up and downs, all of which has caused me to grow into a leader that I am proud to be right now. The year flew by so fast as Lieutenant Governor, so I thank you so much for all of your individual work at this different clubs. With this, signing off for the last time as your Division 31 Lieutenant Governor,
Lana Doan.
Hey Peacocks! It’s sad to say that my term as our Division’s News Editor is coming to an end. It has been such a great experience being able to create these newsletters and much progress can be seen through my use of designing our newsletters during this time. Most important of all, I would like to say thank you to all who has thoroughly engaged in our division and contributed to making my term enjoyable.
Your DNE, Kaylah Nguyen
Events Recap Feb. Feb. DCM DCM
Our last DCM was the best turnout of them all. So what made this DCM different? Sadly, it was Lana’s and Mr. Tobias’ last DCM. In addition to that, “End of the Year” awards were distributed and they happened to have been hand-selected by our LtG, which made them more special. Lastly, our future LTG was able to over part of the event for her future reference.

“On Saturday, January 25, Santana Key Club attended the Bicycle Rodeo at Anza Elementary School. This event was aimed towards teaching children the importance of bike safety, which includes wearing helmets and always staying alert for incoming cars. Moreover, we helped with registration, helmet fittings, and “incoming car” simulations. Members were able to learn more about one another and bond as they volunteered for a good cause. As a club, this was our biggest member turnout yet, and marked a great milestone for us. The event ran well as each child was able to get the full experience by going through relays and riding around obstacles.” -Santana’s President, Mirna Issa

---Valentines Day Dinner---
------------------------------------------------“On Friday, February 14, Granite Hill’s Key Club celebrated the Valentines Day holiday by helping at the Valentines Days Dinner and Dance at the community center in Alpine. Members welcomed people to the event, plated food, served, and cleaned up at the end of the night. The guests were familiar with many of us present and loved seeing us there. At the end of the night, our members got to enjoy a dinner and dessert provided by the community center. This was a great opportunity for our club, especially considering that the community center will be trying to hold these events more frequently and will be teaching the Granite Hills club members how to properly serve in party event settings.” -Granite Hills President, Lauren Nguyen
“On Friday, February 14th of 2020, Granite Hills Key Club juniors and seniors volunteered at the Alpine Community Center. We greeted guests at the door, took tickets, served food as waiters to the guests, and washed and dried dishes after the event.” -Granite Hills Historian, Milena Marino

Concerning our DCMs, Lana would like to show her appreciation towards the increase in attendees and the success in our progress as her term continued. She began her term struggling to get even 5 members to attend, in addition to rain being the biggest factor in ruining the event. Fortunately, as time passed, Lana along with the DLT cooperated to work out a solution and was able to find more than 10 members attending the last DCM. Although we might be nowhere near other divisions, this is a huge improvement. We really are thankful to those who went out of their way to attend the DCM. “Baby steps count, as long as you are going forward.” -Chris Gardner
