Hey Peacocks! It’s almost the last newsletter of the term and that’s simply crazy. I’ve been so honored to be able to serve this Division as your Lieutenant Governor and I truly hope to have an amazing last few weeks with you all, as we serve our home, communities, and schools. Thank you for all your efforts, they are always recognized. Signing off, Lana Doan

Hey Peacocks! Happy New Year!!! It’s 2020, the year of a rat. What’s your horoscope? According to the Chinese Calendar, I barely made it as a horse, noting that my birthday was a few days before the actual Lunar New Years. Kinda cool I think. Moving on, since it’s a new year, I hope for all you Peacocks the best year. Your DNE, Kaylah Nguyen

------Kiwanis Breakfast------
-- Events Events Recap Recap -------------“On Saturday, December 21, Monte Vista Key Club volunteered at the Spring Valley Community Center's annual cookies and milk with Santa event. At our local community park, we helped fellow Kiwanis members set up activities for the children: making ornaments, bean bag toss, tic tac toss, and cookie decorating. All of my fellow key club officers participated together along with one of our members, it was a fun experience. We had the pleasure of engaging with members in our community and interacting with children while spreading the holiday spirit. It was a lot of fun creating a warm and welcoming environment for local children.” -Monte Vista’s Key Club Secretary, Julie Milan
- Events Recap --------------
“On Thursday, December 26, Monte Vista Key Club participated in the annual Rose Bowl Parade Float decorating in Pasadena. Arriving at the warehouse, our key club members assembled water-filled viles for the following days of placing the flowers inside for the floats. Also, we cut frequently used magenta flowers for the floats and one of our members even got the chance to place beans onto one of them. I not only volunteered alongside my fellow key clubbers, but I worked with strangers who also seek to aid others in the community. The whole day was great, being a part of something bigger than ourselves and learning to immense efforts that go into an event as big as the Rose Bowl Parade. -Monte Vista’s Key Club Secretary, Julie Milan
