letter from lieutenant governor hi peacocks, It's finally the new year! I hope you all had a wonderful break. Hopefully, this year will be more eventful than last year. We've already served more hours this term than last so let's work hard to meet all our goals this term! Also, if you need a spacethemed movie, I highly suggest watching Voltron. It's not educational, but it's sci-fi and mecha and I like it! Space fact: Did you know that our sun is a green star?!

hello,

editor

Here's a fun-fact about Saturn, the planet orbits the sun once every 29 Earth years! I think space is so cool. I am both terrified and fascinated by the vast infinity of darkness that the universe offers, yet having such a setting makes the thought of Earth with our tiny humans more precious and to be grateful about! Anyways, after what seemed like the longest year ever, it's finally 2021! I hope everyone had a great holiday and spent their break relaxing! With this new year, let's keep working towards our goals and volunteering duties! (also who decided to name the planet Uranus...)

letter from valhalla president hello! My name is Brielle Moore and I am the current President of Valhalla's Key Club! I am a junior at my school and am involved in our lacrosse and volleyball team, as well as other varying clubs and academic groups. I have been a member of Key Club since my freshman year, which is when I really found my passion and love for this club and what it has to offer! My sophomore year I was elected the secretary and since then my love for the club has just grown more and more! As the current president, my goals for our club is to expand our numbers, and make volunteering easy and fun! It can be so overwhelming trying to volunteer often and do all these different things to help propel your resume and college apps, so my goal is to make it easy and convenient for our students! Above all though, I want to prioritize Key Club being a safe environment and place everyone to come and know they're welcomed! My goal for our division is to bridge the schools together, to make lasting relationships throughout our district! As a division, I hope we can reach 3000 community service hours by April!!

Division Goals 2020-2021 term

due paid members

300

Make sure that you have paid your dues each year as it is important since it ensures that the hours that you have accumulated each term is transferred and given to you. It allows you to attend major events such as Fally Rally and District Convention, and utimately, these dues go towards the club, the CNH District, Key Club International, and charity.

total service hours

2,000

1263.75 service hours earned so far! That's 63% our goal!

donations to ptp

$1,500

So far, we have been able to raise $48.13 for the Pediatric Trauma Program! We'll be having more fundraiser events in the future! Let's work hard to keep donating to a good cause!

what is ptp? By donating, PTP (Pediatric Trauma Program) is able to improve the outcomes for children who experience pediatric trauma by providing grants to partner hospitals, which enable them to reach out to their communities with educational materials, safety equipment and information on childhood trauma prevention.

So basically, donations raised from club and division fundraisers are used to help fund hospitals and medical equipment!

Crewmate-TC (CTC) CTC stands for Candiate Training Conference, it's a conference where Key Clubbers are able to come learn how to become a Lieutanent Governer or learn more about how Key Club works on the division or district level! CTC was held on December 12th from around 10 am to 3 pm! Since this CTC was Among Us themed, members were able to become "crewmates" and learn about "tasks" to become the future LTG! Even if members didn't plan on becoming LTG, the conference was a great way to learn about leadership by talking to other passionate Key Clubbers or LTG's about their experiences. We appreciate everyone who attended! Thank you!

december dcm Every month, Key Club divisions hold a meeting. Division Council Meetings provides clubs a meeting place to give monthly club reports and refresh on Key Club goals and projects. Last month, the DCM was held on December 19 at 1 pm on Google Meets. During the DCM, we updated on division goals and made parol stars/ lanterns which was part of the Kiwanis Family Project! Recently the Philippines and part of Vietnam were devasted by a typhoon, so making these parols were a great way to also raise awareness and spread holiday cheer! Thank you to everyone who attended!

neighborhood clean up Grossmont Key Club members partook in a clean up around their neighborhood to clean the environment and conserve the community!

"We continued our adventure to the cleanup, which was around Luna's neighborhood. To protect ourselves from the bloody COVID-19 and surrounding unholy substances, we wore gloves, masks, and maintained social distancing." (qtd. in Jeffrey Do, Grossmont High School)

we all we got food drive Steele Canyon and Grossmont High school partnered together to help donate to an organization called "We All We Got", which provides community support to less fortunate in San Diego! Together, they were able to collectively donate 75 items, such as food and assorted goods. (submitted by Peyton Steffek, Steele Canyon High School)

kitchen aid for PATH Key Clubbers from Grossmont helped package food for the homeless. They safely provided entrees such as chicken, rice, bread, and Brussel sprouts, as well as desserts for the packages.

cheers

A big part of Key Club is our spirit and pride for being a Key Clubber! Thus, we use cheers to showcase this pride. Usually, we will use these cheers to up the hype and show our spirit during events.

How Do You Feel? I feel good, oh I feel so good *hip thrust* Ugh! I feel fine, all the time turn to your left, fist in the air with your right hand* *ABOOGA, ABOOGA, ABOOGA BOOGA BOOGA*

Remix: After performing "How Do You Feel", if someone calls out "remix", you will proceed with this cheer: Hold UP! Take a seat! Peacocks bringin' major heat! Our tails are big and so are we. Squak with us and you will see!

Superstar S- - U-P-E-R, superstar is what you are! S- - U-P-E-R, superstar is what you are! Repeat twice or until it dies down

Good Job! G Double-O-D J-O-B Good Job *2 claps* Good Job Repeat twice or until it dies down
